“Filipina here living in Thailand who visited this place during an NYC vacation for the craving of Asian food. I personally enjoyed the food - we order green chicken curry and beef with broccoli. If you're an Asian looking for a taste of home, I think this is good enough and the bad reviews are coming from a lot of folks who didn't grow up eating food from Asia.“

“Went to Sappe NYC for dinner and honestly loved it. The food was so good. We tried a few different dishes and everything had so much flavor without feeling heavy. The pad thai and curry were standouts for me, and the drinks were great too.

Patt was our server and she made the whole experience even better. She was super kind, patient with our questions, and gave really solid recommendations. She checked on us just enough and made sure we had everything we needed without hovering.

Overall just a really fun dinner. I’ll definitely be back.“

Great food. I had noodles and vegetables with an amazing sauce. Mango desert with coconut sauce and yummy rice, fantastic!!! Joe might be your waiter and is kind and professional. “Elephant District in DUMBO exceeded every expectation for a family dinner. From the moment we walked in, the entire staff made us feel genuinely welcome — the host set a warm tone and our server Kay was absolutely exceptional. She was patient and attentive with our kids throughout the whole meal, checking in multiple times to make sure they were comfortable, gave them orchids to play with, and even took a moment to teach them how to say hello and thank you in Thai. That kind of warmth and thoughtfulness is rare and it made the whole evening truly memorable.

The food was outstanding. We ordered the crab fried rice, chicken kra prow with a sunny side up egg, spring rolls, and chicken wings. Kay brought chili fish sauce with the kra prow without us even asking — it was the perfect touch and really completed the dish. The seafood sauce that came with the crab fried rice was genuinely one of the best things I’ve tasted. Our kids are notoriously picky eaters and they finished every bite of the crab fried rice and chicken wings — that says everything. The vegetable spring rolls were a hit too.
We ended with mango sticky rice and it was a perfect finish — the mango was beautifully sweet, the sticky rice cooked just right, and the presentation throughout the whole meal was top-notch.

Even the decor was a win: our kids were completely entertained by the elephant wallpaper art (elephants eating tom yum and noodles — genius). We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. Highly recommend!“

“Prince & I feels less like a restaurant and more like being invited into someone’s home for dinner — in the best way possible.

From the moment we walked in, the owner personally seated us and ended up cooking our food himself. He has a quirky, memorable personality that adds to the charm of the whole experience. It’s the kind of place where you can tell the food is made with intention rather than being rushed out of a big commercial kitchen.

The dishes were packed with flavor and tasted very authentic. You can really tell the ingredients and spices are balanced the way Thai food should be — bold, savory, a little spicy, and deeply satisfying. Everything we ordered had great texture and presentation as well.

Overall, it was a unique dining experience with authentic flavors and a memorable host. If you’re looking for a polished corporate restaurant this isn’t it — but if you want something personal, quirky, and genuinely delicious, Prince & I is absolutely worth visiting.

“I came here on the recommendation of a friend who lives in Park Slope, and it did not disappoint. One of the best Pad Thais I’ve ever had, seriously. I’ll definitely be coming back. The staff were also super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. They even gifted me a free Thai iced tea :)“

“Great spot for a quick solo bite! Food was affordable, came out so fast, and was delicious. I ordered a chicken pad see ew & a roti matcha (based on other reviews recommending it) and I loved both.

The pad see ew was a good portion and less than $13 (!), and was super flavourful. The roti matcha was an amazing dessert—two generous pieces of roti with a cup of matcha sauce. I've never had this combo before, but it's a must-try!

Service was also very kind—I was given a cup of water without even needing to ask for it, and they checked to see if I wanted the dessert to come out with the main or if I wanted to get it later.

Heartily recommend! There isn't a lot of seating, though, so make sure you have a backup spot to eat if you're coming with a group or during a busy period. :)“

“That was some of the best Thai food I've ever had. I only have their chicken satay with gravy and their pumpkin sticky rice and bothe ere so good. The chicken was like perfectly cooked, it was juicy but also kind of crispy and had a good char. The sauce was so perfect too, the right amount of peanut flavor and spice. The pumpkin sticky rice was also the perfect amount of sweetness and creamy-ness. I'd love to come back here and try more.“

However sometimes I order for delivery and I really wish they could get stickers or something to go on top of the drinks to ensure delivery drivers can’t put anything in it. “HONEY PORK SLIDERS may not be the most iconic Thai go-to but these are the very best sandwiches I've ever had in my long, well-fed life. Before Mama opened this welcoming restaurant, she had a place nearby called Thai Sliders where I first became acquainted with this spectacular flavor/texture miracle. I usually order fancier fare when I sit down at Lil Chef Mama but I love these sliders for takeout. And each sandwich is much bigger and more generous than most sliders,so instead of lasting for only one meal, the two I recently took home lasted me for two glorious feasts. I'll go back soon for more--see you there!“

“i don't usually leave reviews but i love this place so much and come here pretty often as someone who lives nearby :) love the tom yum soup, thai iced tea, pad thai, and crab rangoon! those are always in my rotation of small munches to get when i drop by here. never disappoints me (although if i had to nitpick at anything, prices can be high for the portions you get... but it is NYC after all so i don't blame them entirely)“
