“Kept driving by this place and finally got to try it out last week. As a Chicago native, I can tell you this is what I've been looking for the past 3 years of living here. The crust does not explode in your mouth like a bunch of tiny little splinters, it's softer and doughy. The ingredients and cheese are not skimped out on either, they are fresh ingredients and plentiful at that. The only thing I would change is more sauce, but I can do that myself next order on my own. Leftovers microwaved is a no go but air fried it's just like it came out of the oven all over again. In a Jersey full of Luigi's, pick Marios, you won't be disappointed. I suggest adding the wings into your order as well, best take out wings I've had from a pizza shop, super crispy breading and juicy interior.“

“If you are in the Toms River area this is a hidden gem. Real NYC style pie! Food is great and very authentic Italian feel especially the dinners. Pictures of Venice posted all over which is a nice touch. The dinning area has arches and beautiful photos of famous actors and famous Italian stars. In fact the owner is Italian and born in Italy. Apparently the owner Vinnie was the original owner of Cafe' Napoli in Shoprite Plaza in Manchester & La Gondola in Lakehurst making pies for over 20 years! In fusing years of experience "That's Amore'' is his best version of a Pizza Trattoria Italiana. Every time, you come in the owner Vinnie is so welcoming and such a nice guy! Always asking you how you are? Or how's the family? Did I mention Vennie is straight Italy? You can always here Italian spoken here. My Phil brother worked as a delivery driver a few years ago during college and said its like a family when working there. Your always welcomed back. All the staff is super nice never had a problem in the going there for more then a 2 and a half years now. Not an overly expensive place and not cheap food at all. Great to book for the holidays like Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving, New Years, or a personal occasion you wont be disappointed. Even if they make a mistake, they are always pretty good & willing to make it correct for you. Usually giving you a free pie or order, if they mess it up. Great Quality pies! Give them try!“

Sandwiches and salads are also available. There is nothing about this place that stands out (for good or for bad). The area is heavily commercial so parking can be tricky as well as commuting during busy hours.“

Let me tell you something: Pizza on Wheels is mamash a Lakewood institution. I don’t care what anyone says — you’re not officially a local until you’ve stood by that counter debating whether to get “just one slice” and then walking out with half the menu.

THE SLICES:
Huge. Enormous. Basically a shiur for a full seudah. You order one slice and you’re already saying Al HaMichya in your head. The crust has that perfect shtikel crunch, the cheese pulls like it’s giving a drasha, and the sauce has exactly the right cheshbon between sweet and sharp.

THE PRICES:
In a world where everything is going up like korbanos on the Mizbeach, Pizza on Wheels is still giving you honest-to-goodness value. It's the type of place where you walk out smiling and thinking, “Chasdei Hashem, I didn’t need to take out a second mortgage for lunch.”

THE SERVICE:
Fast, no-nonsense, classic Lakewood style. You walk in, they look at you, you look at them, and they already know you want two fresh slices and a knish “if it looks good.” The workers are friendly, heimish, and run the place smoother than a well-oiled Gemara kup.

THE CROWD:
Bochurim, yungeleit, families, random guys who just need a slice before mincha — the whole tzibbur comes through here. I once saw someone walk in during bein hazmanim and literally say, “Wow, I missed this place more than my dorm mattress.”

MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE:
I stopped in for a quick slice before heading to a chasuna. An hour later I was still there, debating if I should buy a pie “for later” because the smell alone made me feel mechuyav. The food hits the spot every single time, no games, no surprises — just solid, geshmake, reliable Yiddishe pizza.
