“Very unique Vietnamese restaurant, the dishes are not like anything you'll find even in the edgier restaurants in NYC. I found the food very interesting, and I'm glad I tried it, but the flavors blended together, it lacked distinctiveness. The food is pretty shareable. The low tables on the sidewalk are cute, but didn't look very comfortable“

“I came here after seeing the Bing Buzz review this place and it definitely lived up to the hype! We got the spicy ham and pate sandwhich and the spicy bbq pork sandwhich and both were so delicious for just under $10 bucks each. There’s a small standing section where you can eat your food, but we took it to go since it was such a nice day out. They also speak chinese!“

“EXCELLENT Vietnamese food. Best in the neighborhood and many more unique offerings than I see at most Vietnamese restaurants. I am very appreciative to the staff at Banh for being so kind and accommodating. I placed a delivery order through Square and there was an issue due to an error on Relay (the delivery app). It was not at all the fault of the restaurant but they still resent my order at no additional cost. They are wonderful!“

“Around 6:30 in the evening on weekdays, the store is almost full, business is pretty good, and the store also takes a lot of takeout orders.
The two of us ordered a bowl of mixed beef pho, a fried spring roll and a pork bun, and were very satisfied with everything. The fried spring rolls were very hot when they were freshly fried. They were crispy on the outside and filled with minced pork. They were delicious with the dipping sauce. There are three pork buns in a portion, and the fillings are crispy pork belly, pickled radish and sweet noodle sauce. This combination is unexpectedly harmonious and very satisfying. It is my favorite. The beef rice noodles contain beef tendons, beef slices and beef balls. There is not much meat but a lot of rice noodles. The soup is sweet and has a bit of Chinese medicine. It is just right for two people to share a bowl.“

“The Banh Mi's could be the best in the City. Worth the trip! Had a Boneless Chicken Thigh banh mi and a Classic bahn mi. Both great! I have been here at least 10 times and it is always consistant. This is a take out place only. Buy a banh mi walk a couple of blocks to Central Park and sit in the shade and enjoy.“

“i have been on the hunt for the perfect pate banh mi in manhattan and so far this is the winner! excellent sandwich, love the flavor of the pickled veggies, it has the crispiest bread ever, and theres even seating.
watch out with that crispy bread though! i personally liked it, but it is so crispy that i felt as if it cut the insides of my mouth.“

“Sao Mai is my go-to Vietnamese restaurant and has been for the past seven years. My favorite dish is the cơm bù lúc lắc (beef cubes)—absolutely delicious. Their pho tai is incredible, and the shrimp summer roll is a must-try (I just add a dash of hot sauce to the sauce they provide). I love that it’s family-owned with a warm, friendly small-business atmosphere, and their prices are fantastic.“

“I was doing some chores in the city and looked for a place for lunch and serendipitously entered. Small and Simple but really great. Most people seemed to work nearby. Menus looked great. I had Bánh mì that was superb and small pho broth that was sublime.“

“Saigon Social is an amazing Vietnamese restaurant in the LES of Manhattan. Owned and operated by Helen Nguyen who uses her wonderful restaurant to prepare food for those in need for various organizations in NYC. She is a wonderful person and an amazing chef using her classical training to prepare amazingly authentic and forward thinking Vietnamese dishes. It’s a must visit!!!!“

“I had the beef pho, and it was tasty. The broth was flavorful, meat was tender, and I absolutely devoured it. (If you’ve never had pho, the beef is rare at first, but it cooks in the soup. That’s why it’s pink in the photo). The two friends I went with both ordered the chicken pho which they also loved.
I docked one star because the restaurant was sooo busy on the Monday evening when we went. We waited outside for 40 minutes, and I was getting hangry. In my opinion if you just want a plain bowl of beef or chicken pho it might be worth it to go somewhere less busy. As for their more specialized dishes, I would have to go back to try them!“

“I thought this was a decent, casual Vietnamese restaurant. The pho was good, warm and satisfying just like you would hope for. Not the best, I've ever had, but it will fulfill a craving if you have one. The only downside is not the food itsself but a lack of wifi for patrons. Also be prepared to pay in cash lest you will be charged a small fee for using your card. But otherwise, it was an enjoyable meal“

“The Banh Mi Cart is my favorite part of working in the Financial District. They’re only open 4 hours a day but boy do they deliver! Hot, delicious ready-to-eat Vietnamese banh mi’s ? And the two uncles working the cart are super friendly and are the most honest, hardworking people I’ve met. I’ll have to try to get there earlier because the roasted pork banh mi is sold out everytime!“

“It was a really good pho, we really enjoyed the food here. Everything about it tasted authentic. One little thing about it was that there was no highchair for my baby so he sat with us. But other than that this will be my new favorite place“

“Cozy neighborhood place with good service.
Summer Rolls was a bit dry, felt like it’s been sitting in the kitchen for a while.
Pho broth was great with good flavors. Rice noodles were a bit mushy.
Flan was very good.“

“I’ve been here twice and will continue to come back. I grew up in Vietnam and I’m always looking for authentic Vietnamese food in the NYC/JC area which in my experience is hard to come by. I’ve LOVED almost everything I’ve tried so far at Jersey Bánh Mì: grilled pork banh mi, nuoc mam wings, Thai iced tea, shrimp summer rolls, and their latest addition: bánh mì chảo (not yet on the menu, but coming very soon!). The bulgogi kimchi cheesesteak bánh mì wasn’t my favorite but that’s mostly because I’m skeptical about fusion dishes, but it wasn’t bad. The baguette used for bánh mì is always hot and crunchy just the way it’s supposed to be. The owner family is sweet and always hard at work. Thank you for bringing authentic Viet flavors to this area of Jersey City!“

“As a native viet, this is the BEST vietnamese place I've BEEN to. Their Special 48 hour pho is SO tasty it doesn't even need additional flavors like lime. I usually judge viet places by their summer rolls as well and this place did them so well too. I paid my compliments to the chef. The waiter told me they've been making pho in Vietnam for 20 years. I will be coming here ALL THE TIME.“

“Great introduction to Vietnamese dishes across multiple regions of Vietnam not commonly found elsewhere (bánh cuốn, bún riêu, or xôi). Overall tasty & well-executed, but less than excellent versions of these dishes. Come ~ half an hour early to make the first seating.“

“We were looking for a place to eat while waiting for the time to visit ground zero. I went in and there was no room but it was freed up in 2 minutes. While we were reading the menu, we were served water (I specify because we hadn't ordered it). Let's get to the food. Very very abundant. The dry noodles with 2 types of pork ( belly and steak) were delicious. I recommend this place“

“We walked in for a to go order, we had the beed and chicken banmi
Pro: beef bami was nice, it was my first time to try banmi, it was also refreshing with the cucumber and some other veggies in there
Pro: chicken banmi, i like the flavor, i prefer this more than the beef and the meat was generous
Cons: chicken was dry
Cons: beef could have added more beef
I would go back and buy the chicken banmi again.“

“Fish banh mi is the best fish sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. The fish is SUPER fresh and tender/flakey, the fish fillet breading is not too thick, the fresh made house baguette is soft (not stale at all), the pickled carrots also tasted fresh and not like they’ve been sitting around like other banh mi spots. Love they have a wide delivery radius and go downtown. The fried chicken banh mi is flavorful too but spicy.“

“We had been searching for a go-to Vietnamese place ahead of winter pho season and boy did we not have to look very far! Plum went above and beyond on all accounts. The plum platter appetizer was a must, especially if you’re bringing littles. The spring rolls were so incredibly fresh both inside and out, and the curry dumplings had perfect flaky dough that still held everything together.
Both the chicken and duck curry were hits. The perfect amount of spice for me (I enjoy mild to medium levels of spice but don’t seek out extra). The chicken was tender but could probably have been more so, but I’m just searching so something for them to improve at this point. It was all really well done.
Our wait staff was exceptional; they were cognizant of timing for our mains relative to when we finished our apps, and didn’t over-stay. They even provided an entire kid’s place setting for our two year old. A clean space, homey atmosphere, pleasant music, and DELICIOUS food. Coming again soon!“

“I absolutely loved this place. The atmosphere was calming and welcoming. The short rib Pho was absolutely amazing. I’ve had many dishes of Pho before and this one is the best I’ve ever had. Both of the people working were so friendly and asked me if I had any questions and gave me recommendations. Highly recommend.“

“This place is absolutely amazing. it’s a tiny little hole in the wall, it feels like a nice cozy family owned restaurant. the food is delicious, the portions are great, and i am so happy i found it. my bf and i went last night and it was so good that we’re going again tonight. i got the drunken noodles and he got the crispy pork, and both of us also got spring rolls as appetizers. 10/10 so so delicious i cannot recommend enough.“

“Fast service that doesn’t sacrifice quality. New place in the area that was surprisingly delicious. Pho has good broth, meats are flavored, it comes out right away boiling hot so you can flip it and cook it properly. I recommend dine in if you want pho because that’s the best way to eat it but it was still good as takeout.
Edit: I moved away from here a few months ago and I miss it every time I eat Pho somewhere else. This place was so flavorful that it put a lot of other places to shame.“

“Came for the pho but was pleasantly surprised by the banh mi sandwich. The baguette is crisp and soft, with flavorful fillings like grilled pork or chicken. The pho is also pretty good, especially the brisket which is tender. Prices are reasonable, with sandwiches around $10 and pho $12-15. Service is efficient, and the restaurant is cozy and clean.“

“There was a pho Hanoi place in Manhattan that closed down during pandemic, for years there hasn’t been a good Hanoi pho place in Manhattan. To my surprise, I saw this place on uber eats, didn’t hesitate to try it out. Hanoi pho has a special place in my heart since I spent 1/3of my life there. The flavor is a bit on the weaker side but with the fresh noodle and crispy quay, they’ve earned the 5 stars. I didnt have nuoc mam at home, but if i did I would put a lil bit more just to complete the savory balance.
Can’t wait to try it at the resto with the Banh mi.“

“Small place for takeout. Was craving bahn mi and got bbq pork. Pork was really tasty. would get without mayo next time given fatty pork. Pickled carrots were not very or at all pickled (which the sandwich really needed). I’ve had a lot of banh mis and can’t tell you what is authentic or not but not my favorite type of bread. It’s like an old school French bread. Yes there is a crust but it’s not crusty. So no real crunch from crust, more chewy. Not my favorite style. Not sure about trying other things. Could not find the words “nước chấm” anywhere…“

“I ate well today too! Everything here is delicious, but the spicy rice noodles are the best! As a pho lover, I've been to a lot of pho restaurants here and there, but the spicy pho here has a really deep broth and is the best hangover. If you like spicy soup, be sure to try it!“
