Con: the place is not very big, it took a long time to bring the drinks, it was difficult to find parking and the brunch offer on Saturdays only includes drinks.“

“First time visiting for me and my wife, as we walked in we didn’t know where to sit so we went upstairs. However, the server led us to a dimly lit corner despite plenty of tables available so we chose to sit downstairs instead, even though seating there was a bit tight and not very comfortable.

Our server downstairs was attentive and friendly, which we appreciated. That said, the overall atmosphere felt more geared toward guests with reservations for special party celebrations rather than people just for dining in, so we got the impression that we should wrap up and leave once we finished our meal.

She gave us coffee and tea and gave us time to talk amongst ourselves in a relaxed atmosphere until our decision was unanimous! She then proceeded to take us through the endless design options available and helped us tweak every little detail until alas our vision for the PERFECT wedding cake had come to life! Mind you we did this unannounced but Aisha couldn’t have been more cordial personable professional and most of all friendly! We left SO elated to leave having one of the most important wedding checkboxes checked and feeling we just had welcomed a new family member into the fold! Based on our incredible experience with Aisha and Calandra’s your choice for YOUR wedding cake and pastries should be Calandra’s! You will definitely not be sorry!“

“Date night at the Rabbit Hole! Reservations were easy to make and our hostess was very kind and quick to seat us. Our server, John, was incredibly friendly, explained all the specials, and gave great recommendations. He had a wonderful sense of humor too! The vibes were awesome - loved the wonderland theming and the moody lighting. Great date spot! The food was definitely a highlight. We got the lobster mac (which was made with risotto) and the ricotta and sausage pizza. Would definitely recommend both. The cocktails were beautiful and creative. We will definitely be returning!“

There were 21 of us all together and everyone was well cared for by server Lily and the rest of the awesome staff. “One of our favorite restaurants in the area, and that’s including Montclair. The atmosphere is elevated, modern, and has a beautiful ambiance. Something you might come across in the city. I’ve had the Chicken parm here several times and it never disappoints. Great red sauce, generous portion, and reasonably priced. My friends had the bronzino and chicken milanese which they both loved, and they are food critics! The staff is always friendly and attentive. We feel lucky to have such a gem in our neighborhood. Also be sure to try the amazing pastries and desserts from their sister bakery at Lady Fingers!“

“Had a wonderful anniversary dinner. Food was excellent and the live music was great. They just so happened to play our wedding song which was perfect. My husband and I had the tuna tartar and scallops as an appetizer. The scallops were over this creamy sweet corn chowder with corn salsa and croutons - it was amazing and the best scallops I’ve ever had! Tuna tartar was delicious too. My husband had the pork chops with this mustard crust and eggplant sauce and I had veal milenase with an arugula salad on top. Both were really delicious meals. The veal was huge and definitely could have split that. Even though we were so full, we still managed to get the yummy Pineapple cake and hazelnut chocolate mousse for dessert.“

I had the “Hibiscus Lemonade” and “Year Five 2.0”. The first drink was great, but that second one “Chef’s Kiss”. But what made my experience grand was the customer service. “Highly recommend Gus’ Last Word. This neighborhood establishment is cozy and chic at the same time. It is a perfect balance of retro and modern vibes. I was comforted by yummy chicken pot pie and unique cocktails. It has a lovely bar, with lounge areas, dining section and outdoor space. Shout out to the chefs, Christian the bartender and delightful Erin who provided great welcome, informed explanations of beverages and food, and great service. I will be back.“

“The Oak House has a very homey, almost country atmosphere to it with its stout character and wooden interior. I went here for dinner on a lively Saturday night.
First, they do have valet parking available but there's also a lot across the street and street parking available.
The drinks are excellently made: I had their negroni which I loved and their Olds Cool Manhattan that was fruity to start but very oaky at the finish to balance it out.
If you're a fan of tuna, the spicy tuna tartare is a must! There's a lot of flavor packed in and the chips are sturdy enough to eat with your hands. The chilean sea bass was cooked absolutely perfectly - the only thing I wished was to taste more of the apple cider glaze and even to have diced apples in it for a bit more flavor and texture. I even peppered the boy choy and rice which I rarely do. So, I must give the food 4 out of 5 stars however, I will be back to try their steaks which I hear are fantastic.“
