“This was our second outstanding dinner at Union Square Cafe in the last month. As with our previous dinner, tonight’s dinner at USC was superb in all respects. The food was delicious - from the scallop dish (created in honor of the renowned Paris bistro L’ Ami Jean), pristine Tuna Crudo, decadent Arroncini, Steak Tartare, delicately cooked Cod in an aromatic shellfish broth and a rich breast of Duck. The performance of the USC kitchen was impressive; there was not an off note in the entire dinner.Union Square Cafe revolutionized “hospitality” in the restaurant industry. Tonight’s service was a reflection of this seminal service ethos. The service provided by Bob Yee was wonderful. Mr. Yee personifies the legendary warmth of service which was the foundation of this iconic, ground breaking restaurant four decades ago. Under the watchful eye of GM Mike Pernicano and long time team members such as Mr. Yee , USC remains a New York treasure. It should be noted that the USC wine list remains one of the City’s finest, with carefully curated selections from across the globe. The USC wine list is fairly priced (as it has been since the restaurant shocked the industry with its groundbreaking focus on artisanal producers from France and Italy). Such consumer friendly pricing stands in contrast to the predatory wine markups prevalent throughout the restaurant landscape.“
“I've been to this cafe a few times and it's one of my husband and I's favorite spots! Not only is the food amazing, but the service and vibes are really nice. The people who work there are super sweet. My husband and I absolutely LOVED the short rib sandwich we had there recently. Their egg sammie is really tasty too and I would highly recommend trying their iced pink tea :)“
“Wonderful dining experience! The space is small and cozy, the cocktails delicious, and we were treated with such warmth, kindness and respect, like we were in someone’s home. This is how dining out should be. The seating can get quite tight later into the dinner hour, so try not to bring big coats or bags! They will check them for you downstairs though, if you’d like. Also get the bread with butter, it’s the most delicious butter I’ve ever tasted. No diet-just do it!“
“La Lanterna is dimly lit, small, and incredibly Italian. They have various lasagnes, drinks, and paninis with focaccia. And all of these things come together for an incredibly fun environment that I want to experience again and again with all of my friends and family!“
“I went here multiple times a week (2021-23 before rent pushed me out of nyc). I studied while my Velcro dog played or found a temp other Velcro human who missed their childhood dog. Coppy was just about always there and knew ALL the dogs. Zoë loved their treats and loved their human food (she’s spoiled) as much as I did/do. This place is one of a kind. If I had more money, I’d pour it in to B&H!Support this place! It’s just a necessary, good- hearted, happy cafe that this city needs. So basically, 10/10 recommend lol“
“We sat outside. The service was great! They brought us the wrong cocktails and replaced them right away and gave us the first ones as courtesy. It’s not 5 stars because I don’t know how I feel about the big piece of beet in my burger. I thought it was gonna be pickled or treated somehow. Good overall :)“
“Decided to go in as we saw someone sitting by the window, enjoying his sandwich so much. Best decision ever! We’re 100% returning when we’re back in NY! The service and welcoming was outstanding, thank you Eli for making this happen. Food, vibez, authenticity and Michelada 10/10 ?“
“We went in on a Friday afternoon without a reservation and were able to sit at the bar. Both the food and the coffee were delicious. The banana bread French toast was good but rich- we split meals and shared half and half which ended up being perfect. Service was timely and the place had a cool modern atmosphere. I’d recommend making a reservation for larger parties and if you want to sit at a booth or in a chair with back support!“
“Nice Small spot, they also use the bar next door as a part of the restaurant which is nice specially when it’s busy. Eggs were average, tried the biscuit was good but not the best. Their hash brown and fresh OJ were delicious. So it was really the food that wasn’t impressive!“
“great pour over coffee! some beautiful french toast and perfectly spicy shakshuka. peach, sour cherry french toast with fresh cream and pistachio crunch is to die for. the shakshuka was lovely, with perfectly baked eggs on a bed of spicy tomato & red pepper sauce, harissa, middle eastern spices and paired with fresh sourdough. a bit slow on the service and smaller portions but high quality food and coffee makes this a must.“
“I’ve gone here serveral times and have so far loved the environment, staff, and service! They are very welcoming and provide their guests with as much knowledge about their product as possible. The ice cream and cones are delicious; I love that they have seasonal flavors to allow for more variety!!“
“I love this cafe so much. I almost want to gatekeep it. It’s my favorite to go to and go bring others. Coffee is delicious and their desserts and croissant sandwiches are super tasty. Honestly everything I’ve tried here tasted great. The service is also really nice, the team is always friendly. Great place for customers to also get some work done if you need WiFi. 10/10 my favorite local coffee shop by far. I love sitting in the small outside area on a sunny day.“
“Fantastic food and phenomenal service! It felt so cozy in there, like you weren’t in the hustle and bustle of New York City! We had a meat & cheese platter, two salads and a cacio e pepe and everything was incredible! And it was all very reasonably priced. Can’t wait to come back - and can’t wait to tell friends and family about this gem! 10000/10 recommend“
“I love this place! They are super nice, the owner treats you like family right away. It’s definitely going on my Top 5 cafes in Astoria. The smoothies and pastries are delicious. I want to come back and try all of their menu items. When we walked in the place smelled amazing—the owner said she had just cooked some meatballs for their lunch special. Felt like home right away! 5/5“
“I went this place after work and hit the spot. We had a delicious hot chocolate like I have not tried anywhere else, super tasty and delicious.m, it doesn’t need more sugar. The maple cruller was delicious but the passion fruit was exotic delicious and unique ! The staff very friendly they make you feel at home ! I loved the place and I will definitely go back!“
“I don't ever really write reviews, but after today's visit I wanted to share. I have been going to Cafe Turkey since they first opened, the food is very yummy, fresh, the service is amazing. Today I went there at 9PM, after a long day at work. They were getting ready to close, no one was there but they opened the back area for me to have dinner, turned on the heat, let me take my time to eat didn't rush me, AG was very welcoming and so kind to check if I needed anything and let me stay after they close for the day. It felt like a family not a just business. Thank you AG for making my night feeling so welcome at my local favorite restaurant in Astoria.“
“I stopped in here a lil while ago to grab a quick snack because I always wanted to try this place after hearing so many great things about it!!. I got two chocolate and two cappuccino sponge cakes!!. I started with a cappuccino one on site which was Really Delicious!!. I’ve only been here once but it’s official I love this place!!. Can’t wait to come back and grab the dozen next time!!.“
“AMAZING! AMAZING! AMAZING! The food was absolutely amazing. The flavors, customer service, presentation and overall feel of this place left such a great impact on my friends and I. I literally tried it on Wednesday, and came back with a friend the very next day. My order: Afro Burrito with Chicken; Peanut Stew served over jasmine rice and hot sauce“
“We found you on our trip to Brooklyn in March and we are still dreaming about the amazing turmeric oatmeal breakfast - so great that we walked over the Brooklyn Bridge the following day for another portion! Great service, great staff, we will be back and we will be telling all our friends to come too!“
“A great place to stop while walking around Manhattan.Their bakery products are great.Their marzipan filled almond croissant and chocolate rugelach my favorite. One thing that maybe overlooked is the coffee. They offer great coffee. Perfect combination with their baked offerings. It's my go to when when walking Manhattan.“
“I have now been here twice and both times were exceptional! We ordered the salmon, toast, green shakshuka and chorizo bowl. The portions were perfect, definitely enough for a hearty breakfast. They also have a cocktail menu. That looks great, lots of unique options! The servers were all kind and attentive. We went on a weekday, so it was not overly busy, but I have been on a weekend and there was a little bit of a wait. On the interior, they do do some communal seating at a large table in the center of the restaurant. There are also private tables and booths inside and outside on the patio. The interior is adorable and it’s such a vibe inside. I would say the only downside about this place is there is only one restroom for the entire restaurant, and there tends to be a line.“
“Great service and good food. Initially I was told I could only order food to go because someone was having a private party and they were prepping but then the man behind the counter walked me through the menu. He then suggested I have a seat and could eat in if I wanted. I chose to dine in and the food was fabulous. I got the bacon egg and cheese biscuit. They did not have the cheddar jalapeño biscuit I asked for but they added extra cheese to my sandwich to compensate. The biscuit was crunchy in the outside and soft on the inside. I'll definitely be coming back to try the chicken biscuit and all the different compound butters.“
“It was a brisk day and we were offered outside- which we took rather than wait. I am not sure I would have been comfortable with all of the taxidermy. Sort of creepy- vegetarians, beware. Our server was the right amount of attention.Food- tasty- squash toast. Fun sort of asian? Flavor- maybe too much mint [I had to remove half of it- there was a LOT]. Side of bacon to share$35 each- coffee, squash toast, 1/2 bacon. COST- NYC PRICES.Coffee- sour- didn't finish even half....booooooooo!Sort of sunday out fancy.“
“Cute place with delicious French sandwiches. Its a small place and there are only a couple of seat yourself tables, so expect to take your order to go. The staff was super friendly and obviously enjoy what they do. So many places make you feel like you should thank them for taking your money. This place makes you feel like you are family. If you seak French, it's an even better experience. From the soup, to the cappuccino and everything in between, we loved it all!!“
“Amazing atmosphere. The best hookah in NJ. If you are looking to have an amazing time with great music, great food, great hookah, and parking then this is your place. My third time here and I am now a regular. Because the amazing and personal treatment they have here. Ronny goes above and beyond for all his customers. Thank you. I love it here. And don’t get me started on the games table they let you play omg ? love the uno cards and dominosParking: Amazing. Parking on the spot“
“I’m a tea lover- hate coffee- and specifically look for iced tea. It’s incredibly hard to find a cafe that offers a good selection of iced teas that aren’t overly sweetened, so when I found Whistle & Fizz a year ago, I was immediately in love. They have unique drinks, a great space, good prices, and a wonderful staff. I introduced everyone in my office to W&F and at any giving day, at least one person in the office has a cup at their desk. Check them out!“
“Fluke was fabulous. Duck confit a little too salty, but then again, I’m on a low sodium diet. Divine dessert! We dined for over two hours, but they didn’t rush us. I truly appreciate that as I’m experiencing certain restaurants, mind you not cheap, asked us to vacate our table for the waiting patrons…..“
“If you are in the area and want to taste some amazing coffee this is a kiosk you need to stop by. You will not regret tasting this amazing coffee, and be sure to have a chat with the owner. He loves coffee and you can taste the love in the coffee.“
“Boris & Horton is an absolute gift to our day every time we visit—a true gem and an easy favorite. Since opening in Williamsburg, the Eloise latte and a treat for my pup have become staples of our little morning routine. The staff’s warm welcome and genuine kindness contribute to a community that is inclusive and filled with pure joy. Thoughtful and creative, Boris & Horton is truly something special. Grateful for the friends and fun memories made over workdays spent here.“
“Lovely place for breakfast! There is a lilting Mexican music playing while the host and hostess go about serving their guests, all with a smile. Food is simple but tasty. Priced reasonably, you cannot go wrong ordering any one of their dishes.Tea is served as well as coffee and soft drinks.Nice decent tables and chairs. Good ambience.“
“Chef Henny is fantastic! This has become a spot to have something delicious to eat. Some of my recommendations are the quesadillas, American burger, Louisiana chicken sandwich, chicken Milanese salad, Philly cheesesteak and the roasted chicken with mashed potatoes. But I’d say give anything you find appetizing a try because Chef Henny really puts a lot of love into his food.During the summer checkout the fresh juices made there too!“
“Such a lovely space with cool specialty drinks. I got the taro latte and it was a great treat for someone who can’t have caffeine and my husband got the espresso and tonic water drink, so refreshing for warm days. Their croissant is yummy too! Love the music and vibe!“
“First time here but the had the best experience. Ordered the hobo and my partner ordered a sausage egg and cheese with home fries. It was beyond delicious especially the bread which was soft and pillowy. Also the customer service was amazing, the couple were friendly, warm and had a sense of urgency. Would definitely come back!“
“Thanks to the food here, I was able to travel to New York while recharging my energy. For me, who was embarrassed by the salty, simple taste and expensive food in New York... It was my 'oasis' while I was in New York. I visited it every day for 5 days. Boss, you will prosper!“
“Went here on a Sunday morning (8am) and it was not very busy. However, they have about 20 employees standing shoulder-to-shoulder so I'm guessing it does get busy at other times. We ordered bagels with cream cheese and bagels with egg/cheese and everything was great. We had ample cream cheese (more than I would put on at home) and the wait was not very long. I thought everything tasted great.“
“The atmosphere is always very relaxed. I love stopping in to get something quick to eat (which I must say the food is delicious) and also enjoy a glass of wine. My server Linn was amazing today. Nothing but good feedback. This place will continue to be a favorite of mine!“
“Fabulous! You could spend so much money in here and never feel unhappy about it. Totally vegan it's actually quite large with lots of places to sit and just plants everywhere. if I had more money, I would buy myself every single plant and item they have here. lovely food, lovely staff, highly recommend! please support your neighborhood, vegan place.“
“Came with with reservations for brunch on a Sunday around noon and was delighted by how bright and airy the decor is. Definitely on the trendier side, but still comfortable and warm.I ordered an iced taro latte and the lemon poppyseed waffle. The taro latte was on the sweeter side, but I still enjoyed it. The waffle was fun to eat, with the cream and strawberries. It was pretty filling too.Unfortunately the bathroom was out of service while we were there, but the rest of our experience was great! The servers were friendly and attentive (almost too attentive though, with two different employees asking if we were ready to order within minutes of each other).I would definitely come back and enjoy brunch with my friends or even as a solo date.“
“Really sweet nail shop. My manicure has lasted more than a week which is unheard of for a conventional manicure for me. Shop is very clean and cute. My only complaint was that the woman who did my nails gave zero massage and applied the color too fast and it bubbled up. Another person fixed it for me and it’s great!“
“The drip they had was columbian-blend from coffee project, hence very dark-chocolately. The matcha latte was very unique — it had a seaweed-like flavor which I’ve never experienced with other matcha powders. I was impressed by the decor, though the space itself is tight.“
“Coffee and matcha were good! We also had a muffin and scone- both were bland and dry. I would skin the pastries. But the drinks were good. It's a small little hole in the wall place so I wouldn't say it's good for business meetings just because we didn't have a ton of space but it did the trick.“
“Incredible coffee. Pour over is super smooth and best I've ever had. Staff experienced with all things coffee and use specific equipment and timers to make sure the coffee comes out with the best flavor. Not usually one for the finesse of coffee making but the outcome will definitely have me coming back again.“
“This place is nice, I took my boyfriend and we enjoy both a hot latte and an iced cold brew.Honestly the best coffee I ever had.I'm going to take my parents here next Sunday when they have live music. The entire staff make the busy bar look super easy.Highly recommend for dates“
“I have wanted to visit the Sweets & Cafe Bakery for a long time. It is a few blocks away from my dentist, and I finally had the opportunity to visit last Friday, March 8, 2024. The service was excellent, and the two staff people who took and served my order were very professional, friendly and helpful. The cafe con leche was MUY DELICIOSO, and the ocho with guava and cream was also very tasty. The place was so clean, and the bathroom was also very clean and well-stocked, too. I look forward to returning as soon as I can.“
“I reviewed this place when it first opened and it was amazing and well needed in the community and it is still an amazing place. Previous comment about treating people of color different has not been my experience as a person of color. They are always friendly and extremely respectful and they even remember my name. Again I love this place.“
“KANELA is simply the best! Demi and Dina are two of the kindest, most hospitable business owners around. We tried several baked items, including croissants, guava cheese strudel, and white chocolate macadamia nut cookies. The guava cheese strudel was so delicious and unique, and the croissants were so fresh and mouth-watering. We highly recommend this cafe for the amazing food, friendly owners, and inviting atmosphere.“
“Lovely and cozy cafe! Croffles are delicious; the specialty coffee drinks I've tried so far are not my favorite but they're creative and unique and I'm going to keep trying them. Sometimes they'll run out of certain drinks though but they've always been very apologetic. The staff are super sweet and kind. The sitting area is tiny so it's better to go there by yourself or with up to two other people. One of my new favorite spots to go and read“
“We were in Queens and asked a friend who lived in area for dinner recommendations. We are super happy he did. This place is great. All 4 of us loved our dishes and service. The place was packed but they keep it moving and everyone looks quite happy with their food. Some of the best pasta we’ve had in a long time. The mushroom pasta I had was on long thick cuts of homemade pasta cooked perfectly and the mushoom mixture was excellent and I really appreciated it cooked in white wine sauce instead of heavy cream you usually get. My wife ordered something not on the menu for her and my daughter. Home made spaghetti with vodka sauce and grilled shrimp and waiter offered meatballs and spaghetti for my daughter. They loved it. My son had the lasagna and finished every morsel. I don’t leave too many reviews but this place deserves it 100%. Thank you.“
“This establishment embodies all the qualities I cherish in a neighborhood gem – an inviting ambiance accentuated by bright and tasteful decor, abundant greenery that imparts a sense of stepping into a cherished home. The lavatory, adorned with entertaining comic books and captivating artwork, is a haven one could easily lose themselves in.A delightful birthday brunch orchestrated by my girlfriend and her husband elevated my visit to a new echelon. Our chosen corner, bathed in natural light, provided a picturesque setting complemented by low-volume yet contemporary music. The BYOB policy allowed us to augment our experience with personal touches, such as our own supply of orange juice and Prosecco. The owners, gracious and welcoming, exemplify the epitome of hospitality. The culinary offerings showcase a harmonious fusion of Asian and American influences, with flavors that transcend the ordinary. The Pork Belly Adobo, featuring purple rice, succulent pork belly, kimchi, fingerling potatoes, eggs, and biscuits, left an indelible impression. The impeccable seasoning beckons one to savor every morsel, making it nearly irresistible to leave an empty plate.Nestled conveniently near the light rail in the vibrant heart of Jersey City, this establishment maintains a delicate balance, exuding the energy of a bustling locale while retaining the charm of a serene neighborhood spot. Despite the bustling surroundings, the ambiance remains quintessentially quaint. The memory of the delectable cake we enjoyed eludes me, yet its splendid taste remains etched in my mind. A return to this establishment is not a mere possibility but an assurance. Also took home their carrot cake and it was pretty epic as well. Gratitude for the best dining experience one could ask for!Vegetarian options: Lots to pick fromDietary restrictions: The chef can accommodate any dietParking: Near a busy area but parking is available at the Agnes apt buildingKid-friendliness: No kids menu but many kid friendly dishesWheelchair accessibility: Large space easily accessible“
“Great Panera Bread restaurant . I had a half of a turkey sandwich with a creamy rice chicken soup and it was delicious . The strawberry lemonade is great too. Service os always good they act like they care not like some places with bad attitudes .A+++ Panera “
