“We were in the city for 3 nights. I made reservations for the second and third nights. Left night one open. I found Saar online, it was less than a block from our hotel so we figured we'd give them a try. So glad we did. Nice place. Great, friendly service (Karim is the man!), and excellent food. I ended up cancelling the reservations I made for night 3 and we went back to Saar. Give them a try if you like Indian food. It was amazing!“

“A wonderful place with a creative menu. Very unique flavors. Try as many items as you can as each one is special. We went in a group and we were able to share and taste a variety of items. A very casual chic place, you don’t have dress up 😊. They had some original cocktails, adding a twist to the traditional ones. Definitely must visit. Be aware, you will need to make a reservation well in advance. They are popular and hard to get in.“

“This is a nice, smaller Indian restaurant. The staff was extremely friendly and the service was very good. The prices were very reasonable, especially for NYC. The meals were good sized portions- we were disappointed that we couldn't take our leftovers back to our hotel because it lacked a fridge and microwave- would've made a great lunch the next day.

We shared Tandoori Chicken, Saag Paneer, Butter Chicken and Garlic Naan- ALL very good. They do not serve alcohol- that was the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. A nice cocktail or beer would have gone along well with the meal. Otherwise, we really enjoyed the food.“

“We have gotten take out from here several times and have loved the food. We go here for our Kerala food fix and the flavors are spot on. The food feels homemade and the spices are just right. My personal favorites are the banana leaf fish pollichathu, kerala chicken fry, chicken roast, chicken curry and fish curry with the tapioca. The owners are lovely people too!“

“The food at Passerine is delicious, though the portions are on the smaller side. The ambiance is truly outstanding—clearly a lot of thought went into creating such a welcoming and stylish space. I used to frequent the previous restaurant in this location, SONA, and I have to say the bartenders there were exceptional. It might be worth considering bringing back some of that talent to elevate the bar experience even further“

“AMANDEEP SINGH! you are ONE HECK OF A HOST! 5 million stars for this guy! he suggested us the food we should order, literally changed our WHOLE order, and ..... and.... we L O V E D it! he is an amazing host, a whole hearted man, fun to be around, and his food is out of this world. “I remember when this location was actually a cuban sandwich joint, then a pizza place that had nice pizza, then it became Spicy Bytes, my girlfriend and I were always so curious about this place but due to the odd weekday hours we never were able to tell if they were open. It was one day a week or two ago that I was walking around with my girlfriend where she suggested we try this place out since we noticed it was opened! Upon entering a young woman welcomed us warmly and showed us the menu, and took a seat. We ordered a Butter Chicken Curry to share and two orders of garlic naan bread, and got the curry at a medium spice level since my girlfriend can't handle spicy stuff at all, and she ADORED IT!

Upon taking her first bite of the butter chicken my girlfriends eyes lit up and widened, it was also her first time trying Indian food so I could tell she was very much hooked. We enjoyed our meal and were asked by the young lady if we needed anything else through out our meal, which I really appreciated. After eating we were both very satisfied and definitely plan on coming back for more. I am surprised they haven't done much with the interior since the last place since it still very much feels like the previous pizza place, but it honestly didn't bother me as this places food is something you should not miss :)“

“A bit of an icon in modern-Punjabi culture.

Firstly, when I visited, it was a blisteringly cold day, but I was saved by the warmth of the masala cha and the chickpea dish.

The food and drink was great and it is not overpriced either.

In terms of being iconic, many of us have seen pictures of the deli on Adidas adverts, in music videos and the sorts so it became an interesting place to visit. Not only are the people nice to talk to, they are funny too which makes the experience that ever much better.

Would have been nice if they provided water with ice instead of lukewarm water. I was forced to buy soda which I don't like to drink because the water was so warm but maybe that's the idea.“

“FIRST OF ALL this came highly recommended by a friend of mine and now I highly recommend it.
The Tamarind Margarita is remarkable and as a Private Chef , I mean that! The tikka masala with Lamb met me with satisfaction I have not experienced before BECAUSE every piece of lamb was tender and cooked with care not to mention THAT SAUCE!!!!! hits different and worth swallowing. The basmati rice not a favorite of mine because too “Shelly” BUT THIS BASMATI surprised me with Ever so moist plump grains worth eating. Try the fried momos - just lovely!
Last but not least, the rasmalai is the creamiest river of Indian ambrosia from the deities I swear!
I left out 1 star because of the scan method which is a bother to me but that’s just me. Other than that fly trough the holland tunnel as soon as you can to EMPYREAN INDIAN KITCHEN- is a must!
