“Our server was named Shine, he was awesome! I give 4 stars for food only because the portion size was small for price. Pub atmosphere, yet kid friendly. It was extremely busy when we got there, we were seated at the last available table, got our food quickly, I ordered a ocean pearl cocktail, delicious blueberry “girly drink,” the table next to us was audibly giving the servers a hard time, and they (the servers) still all showed perfect customer service skills. Will be coming back!! If I wasn’t broke I would have tipped 100%“

“A very traditional British pub experience in an old, character building. We were a party of five and our food ranged from traditional pub fare (fish and chips, French onion soup), to short-order (burger and a Reuben sandwich) to East coast seafood (cod cakes). Everything was exceptional. We went as a family, with three kids, easily accommodated in the basement pub space (as opposed to the upstairs restaurant space).“

“Stopped in with hubby and the doggies for lunch. Was thrilled we could have the dogs with us at the table on the patio and that there were water bowls provided. Service was a little slow and unfortunately our order got lost and it took a while to get our food. Kitchen tried to rush the meal to make up for the delay and our spinach dip was still cold in the middle. Overall the food was good and I would return to try the food again.“

We thought it was a little strange that the shrimp dip had full-size shrimp, and only three of them in it, would probably be better if they chopped up the shrimp throughout the dip, but otherwise everything was great!“

“It's been years since I've visited the Woodside Tavern. The ownership has changed and the place has been renovated. It's more open and inviting now. The menu impressed us; the choices are varied and the taste of the dishes was very flavorful. Our server, Sujana, was quick to provide menus, take our order, served us beverages, then went into the kitchen to cook our meal, and then served us! She can do it all! It was a very enjoyable visit. We'll definately return!“

“A little disappointed in this place. There’s a guy across the street cursing out people while we ate outside. The staff asked me not to call the Police and are not willing to do anything. I posted a pic of the guy that will ruin your outdoor experience at this place.“

“Honestly, I love the brown hound. I don’t think I’ve had one bad experience. Although, the last time I was in, I ordered my usual (bangers and mash), and the sausage came out sliced and diced all up the side. I don’t know why, but the appearance made me nauseous. It looked aquatic — almost octopus like? Think: a cooked spider-dog over a campfire. It was an experience I wasn’t prepared for. Please go back to plain bangers, please! It was genuinely a nightmare. To hide my embarrassment, I brought the sausage home for my dog. Maybe it’s a me problem but my mum said it was also very unappetizing. Love you still!“

“Was in Halifax last night for a concert . I am at the airport about to fly back home this morning . I didn’t know anyone in Halifax , I just came here to see my favourite band , and I just happened upon the Loose Cannon and wandered in before the show . Matt the bartender , I think his friends who were at the bar called him Chissy , was amazing . Great guy. He made my night before the show , as I was all alone. He introduced me to some regulars who were going to the show at the bar , who were awesome people. I was chatting with them about music for about an hour pre show . He was the reason I came back after, this time with some ppl I had met there at the concert . I have never felt compelled to leave a review about a place before , but I felt like this guy deserved the kudos . He was really busy when we came back, but was still incredibly nice and hospitable to us . I will be back for sure on my next visit .“

“Had a meal with my family here and I hadn't been to Midtown in many years. Food was as I remembered, hit the spot. And our waiter may have been the best waiter I've had in Nova Scotia in a long time. My family has had a very difficult week and my daughter was having a rough evening but the waiter, Colin, knew exactly how to talk to her and he was genuinely kind with my boys. This definitely eased my own stress as well, and later in the evening my daughter brought up how nice he was. I don't usually leave reviews but my experience this evening was a reminder why I love Halifax. Thank you“

“Stopped in for lunch on our last day in Halifax. We had the Philly cheesesteak and the Tap burger. Food was 10/10, large hearty serving, everything was cooked perfectly. Met the owner, she was extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back“

“We visit this pub before shopping at Costco. Let me tell you, a filling and satisfying meal and a pint make the whole experience much easier! We love Seamus David's. The food is consistently delicious and the servers are very kind and easy to talk to. The beer selection is great too! The atmosphere is cozy and warm.“

While shooting an event, my bag was stolen and not only did the event coordinator help me sort things out on the camera, but Mike the bouncer actually FOUND my backpack AND all of my gear (minus bank cards) in a nearby lot!! “This is our local taproom. I just love this place. Great bunch of people...staff and patrons. A great place to relax and enjoy some good conversation. The beer is the best in Halifax if you're into craft beer. Always a great selection and the beers rotate frequently so you never get tired of drinking the same thing....unless of course you want to. They have some specialty snacks to enjoy with your favorites beer too. They do not serve food, but you're welcome to bring in whatever your heart desires, in to eat. Jesse's Pizza and CHKN CHOP are just steps away.A couple of my favorite beers are 12 Years to Zion, DOA and Flat Black Jesus. I'm sure you'll have your own favorites.“

“Came tor Trivia night and ordered quesidila. Little pricey for food but I guess fairly standard these days, but the drinks were reasonably priced. Iverall decent experience. Typical pub fair and vibe for the most part. Service was decent, food came out quite fast“

“A very homey and romantic atmosphere. The subdued lighting is reminiscent of the kind of place you take your mistress. The charcuterie board which my wife and I shared was quite excellent. The beer( North Brewery’s Malternate Reality IPA ) was exceptional and my wife “loved” her Red wine spritzer Shiraz. Our server, Scotty, was the most engaging and friendly person I’ve encountered in a Bar or Restaurant in Nova Scotia and I’ve been coming here for 22 plus years. A sublime experience.“

“We came here on a whim. The place looked like a typical bar you'd find on a long drive however it had a Nintendo section which was honestly cool. It was filled with locals who were generally very happy and talkative with the bartender and staff. I actually found this very enjoyable as if gave the place a very friendly and family like vibe. We definitely felt like we were a little out of place but we weren't treated terribly, we were greeted with kindness.She recommended good beverages and everything was brought at a timely manner.The food is greasy but good. The fries could have used more seasoning, when I brought it to the waitresses attention she let me know they do have a seasoning but they only put it on via request as some people dont like it. (I highly recomend asking for it.) but beyond that it was filling, it was tasty. “The pizza was absolutely delicious, perhaps the best I’ve had. Crust was perfectly cooked, toppings were generous yet not overpowering. I ordered the 9” personal and probably could have done with just 3 of 4 slices but forced the last one down … was too good to leave.

“We celebrated an engagement and the hostess arranged for appetizers, prosecco and all the accoutrements in perfect timing for our family toast of congratulations. The main course and special cocktails were excellent and up to our high expectations! The blueberry buckle gifted by the restaurant to the newly engaged coupler was delicious and most appreciated. “Group of work crew got together for a meal and then a Moose game on February 29th and not only enjoyed the food, the layout of the restaurant, but the waiter (Brandon) was amazing and made the whole experience of our first visit the best experience and we'll definitely return.“
