“We were celebrating our anniversary and looking for a special place. Everyone said go to the Bicycle Thief. We were not disappointed. The food and wine were superb. We loved the lobster risotto. Katie, our server, was amazing. We can’t wait to return. Thank you for a fantastic dinner.”

“Restaurant was clean, atmosphere and staff were very inviting. There was pitchers of water with 4 glassed at each table. Both my partner and I ordered the same sides, butter chicken and saffron rice with pop. It was absolutely amazing.... so much so we ordered 2 extra sides of rice to take home with the remaining butter chicken. Highly recommend! We will be in again to try out some other items.”

“Terry’s Calamari is THE BEST because he has the best idea to cover it in an amazing tomato sauce and olives that elevates it to a whole new level. 3 of us shared it, gone in minutes.

For mains we had Spaghetti Bolognese and Tagliatelle Cacio e Pepe. Perfect portion, thoughtful details with garnish, and incredible sauce (and those lemon kissed scallops... amazing). Spiced chocolate crème brulee and Tiramisu rounded out the evening. Great evening supper on the patio. Excellent service. What a gem in the city 💎”

“We had gone out with friends for a lunch and tried all the different menu items. We thoroughly enjoyed each and every meal, be it the beef pockets, noodles, dumplings but the best one was the fried rice. The flavours are authentic, meal portions are great and the ambience is amazing and the best part is it’s all halal. If you are in downtown, I highly recommend trying this restaurant!”

Ok, I suppose that Kismet was one of the Halifax's pearls...
But, from person who was there for the first time... I don't know.... The desert was terribly...cheap 😒 Sorry, guys, that's true. I'm not complaining, just don't serve the desert if you don't know how to do that.

One more thing... interior... Cheap old white plastic siding on the walls? seriously?... Please... It's 2025 now!
Btw, your exterior looks so good! Just paint the walls and ceiling inside, the same color, make the space more cozy and fresh.

“Well worth a trip across the bridge! I rarely go to Dartmouth, but had an appointment this aft. Walking back to my car, I noticed this cute spot, Portland Street Creperie and decided to check it out. So glad I did! I’ll definitely be back. The owner and his staff member of many years greeted me with a warm welcome and good suggestions. It was a bonus to discover Neil shares a love of Kraftwerk! I’m so jealous that he will be seeing them for the third time 🤦‍♀️. Oh, and the crepes - fabulous! Definitely recommended!”

Thanks to the entire Canteen family - and I say FAMILY purposefully as you feel the family atmosphere as soon as you arrive - for hosting our team for dinner last week. We booked out the whole restaurant and they did just what we hoped for: Maritime hospitality, wonderful, genuine service and knock-your-socks off food. The team from across Canada went bananas over the Crobster sandwich. The special welcome from the owners was a lovely touch. The guests raved all the way back across the harbour on the ferry about the wonderful meal from start to finish. It’s a lovely space that is not pretentious and puts an emphasis on fantastic food and exemplary service, with a genuine smile. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Oh my God — where do I even start! Everything about this place is phenomenal. From the moment we entered, we were greeted with the warmest smile and such elegant gestures. The ambiance is so unique and inviting.We went for breakfast and it was an absolute delight! The banana bread was heavenly — the aroma and taste were just perfect. We tried the Egg Benny and the Beef Naan Wrap, and both were incredibly delicious. To top it all off, he even offered us a gut health drink after the meal — such a thoughtful touch!

“We had excellent service on Canada Day 2024 with our friendly waitress Pal. She was very helpful and kept checking on our party of 12 ages from 3 to 80, to make sure everyone had what they wanted. She put treats on the Robot and had the children go get their treats off the tray on it, which was a highlight for them. We could tell she enjoys waitressing because she does it to perfection. The food was delicious and plated appetizingly, too!”

The Brussel sprouts were some of the best we'd EVER had, and the bernaise and the chili combined for amazing flavours. The burgers (Pig Mac & deluxe) were tasty, juicy and full of flavour, and the fries were fresh cut and delicious.
Great selection of beers, and the service was attentive and friendly.”

It's hands-down the best authentic pizza restaurant in the area. Every time we go, the experience is incredible.
