“I previously visited this restaurant at their old location with my daughter and had an amazing experience — the food, service, and atmosphere were all fantastic. Because of that, I was excited to try their new, larger location for happy hour with a friend. Unfortunately, the service was really disappointing this time. When we arrived, we both stood at the entrance for several minutes while multiple staff members looked at us but didn’t acknowledge us or explain whether we should seat ourselves or wait to be seated. Eventually someone directed us to a table. We ordered wine and everything seemed fine at first, but our server quickly became unavailable and never checked back in. When our food was delivered by another employee, it was dropped off without utensils or napkins. Happy hour ended at 5:00, and instead of checking on us before then, our server returned afterwards and told us happy hour was over and brought new menus. After finishing our food, we sat with empty glasses and dirty plates while multiple staff walked by without clearing the table or checking on us. After about 10 minutes of waiting with no service, we ended up walking to the bar to pay our bill because no one ever brought it to the table. This was frustrating, especially for a restaurant that presents itself as a higher-end dining experience. I know they’re capable of better based on my previous visit, so hopefully the service improves.”

I will never get that because of that. They put Tabasco in their Thousand Island that is stupid. But nice atmosphere good service and you can play Trivia that was fun. I had the pastrami it was good but I wanted regular Thousand island for it so that sucked. next time burger or Meatball Sandwhich”

“This is a very nice resteraunt in the Atlantis Casino Resort in Reno, Nevada. My lady and I were looking for some lunch and decided to try the Purple Parrot. My lady had the Western Burger and I decided on the Super Burrito. As you can see from photos there meals were loaded. The burger came with potato salad, onion rings and more. The burrito came with rice and refried beans and more.
I highly recommend the Purple Parrot to friends and family.”

“I was searching online for a good deli in Reno and Beline Carniceria & Deli kept coming up with excellent reviews, so I decided to give it a try. I’ve never had a torta before, but I went for the Al 100: grilled steak, ham, sausage, cheese, avocado, tomato, onion, jalapeños, beans, mayo, and lettuce….all stacked on a fresh bolillo roll.

It was unreal. Perfect amount of meat, huge burst of flavor, super fresh ingredients, and that warm bolillo bread pulled everything together. Absolutely delicious.

The shop also has some nice little grocery options, and the meat counter looked incredibly fresh and bright. Highly recommend stopping in and grabbing a torta if you want something hearty, flavorful, and made right.”

“A friend treated our family of 6 to dinner at Ruth’s Chris and it was a wonderful evening. Our server Mandie was attentive all night and made sure everyone felt taken care of. The steaks were cooked perfectly — just needed a touch of salt to bring out the flavor, but the quality was there. The potatoes were a great side. Two of our kids ordered the kids’ steak meals with strawberry lemonades. Our 2-year-old loved the steak. The chocolate ice cream that came with the kids’ meals was a huge hit. The onion soup wasn’t really my favorite, but everything else more than made up for it. The ambiance was lovely — perfect for a treat like this. And the mints on the way out were a nice little touch to end the night.”

The Chinese place Chi is solid as is the steakhouse Bimini. Only place I don’t recommend is the Mexican place near the check in/out counter.”

The ratio was OBVIOUSLY messed up, as the cheese was chunky n not mixed well with the cream like it is normally. And then I had ordered a bowl of the crawfish gumbo. Not a single piece of crawfish in the entire bowl. Not to mention standard gumbo has anduoille sausage. The sausage that was in it was some store bought "Johnson stuffs" This place has gone down hill so quickly. I am extremely disappointed, and will never be back again. Save your $'s. they charge too much and are not giving out the same quality as they once did.”

To give an example of the value... we are both very large guys and a fill up at a normal fast food place for us is about $20 a person. We did about the same here and got MORE and LOVED it! Plus, you can buy meat and fries BY THE POUND and save big time! We loved the fact that we could sit outside and wait with the dog since he comes with us everywhere on our days off. “Went to the Reno facility and was treated like a king. Jessica was our server with a pleasant smile and quick service. I had the chicken pot pie and it was scrumptious.”

“I've dined here twice. The first time was a mixture of sushi and a couple of the Chinese entrees. Was okay but not overly impressed. Did the AYCE Sushi this last visit. Like the Peppermill and Atlantis, it's pricier than the other places in town ($44 vs $34) but the 20% off local's discount if you signed up for the rewards club evens it up.

AYCE Selection is about 75% the choices you'd normally get (similar to Peppermill). No Unagi, Scallop, Snapper, or Albacore Nigiri, but strangely one of the best things I had was a spicey scallop handroll. Size of the cuts of the fish on the Nigiri are arguably the largest in Reno and top quality for AYCE.

Rice, the most important thing, was a bit over seasoned, but on the vinegar not the sugar, that's a first for me in Reno, it's common they put too much sugar in the rice. The Sushi chef pressed the rice together too hard so that on the Nigiri the amount of rice didn't look too large but it was really dense (a rice bomb) and filling.

Service was excellent being able to order directly from the Sushi Chef but we showed up right when it opened at 5pm to make sure we got a seat at the sushi bar, the only place you can get the AYCE. I could tell though once the place gets busy, it will take a lot longer to get your orders so I'd order double what you want (assuming you can eat it) when it's busy.

The Chinese food prices are on the high end for Chinese in general but not unreasonable considering it is an upscale restaurant. It's a heck of a lot cheaper than going to the steak house next door.”

“This is our first visit to Shanghai Bistro. The potsticker appetizers were good and the dipping sauce was especially tasty. The Mongolian beef and the sweet and sour entrees were really good. After dinner, we were each served a complimentary slice of watermelon!

We will be coming back to try some other dishes.”

“This was my second time going here. The first was for lunch and it was great so I wanted to try breakfast. I figured you can’t go wrong with breakfast. My husband and I ate inside this time. I prefer outside which is so pretty but my husband is not a fan of eating outside, so inside it was. Not as pretty inside. Like lunch, so many food choices. My husband and I split the french toast. It tasted like candy and needed very little syrup. Their butter had orange rinds in it. It wasn’t bad, probably should have asked if they had plain butter though. I had a basic breakfast which had eggs and biscuits and gravy. I would rate the biscuits a 3. They were dry and needed the gravy. I’ve been to other places where the biscuits aren’t dry at all. The bacon is thick, so if that’s your preference, this is the place! Service was slow. Seemed to be one lady taking the orders and it took a hit to get our check. I’m not certain I would do breakfast again but definitely would try lunch again. Lunch was a chipotle chicken sandwich and it was delicious !”

“Been forgetting to review this place, ate there early July. Food was good, wish they had some sauce or gravy for when you order the rice pilaf but whatever it was still good. The baklava was delicious, the hummus was good and flavorful and came with plenty of pita to dip with. The portion size of the gyro was surprising it was large and super filled. One thing that would be improved though would be if the tzatziki sauce was lower on the layering instead of the top, it made it a bit annoying to eat and made quite a mess. Also would prefer there be more signage saying to leave your plate at the table and leave when done.”

“Great ice cream. I like going for the unusual and classic flavors. I went in to get pints of the Poached Pear Sorbet, Cocoa en Fuego, and the Tin Roof Sundae. Poached Pear was homestyle, tasting of pear, red wine, and mulling spice, and is perfect for the holidays. Cocoa en Fuego has some excellent fire to it from the cayenne mixed into smooth creamy Mexican chocolate. Tin Roof Sundae is the classic, with lots of peanuts. Chris also gave me samples of Cinnamon Whisky, which is excellent and tastes strongly of the cinnamon; Chocolate Strawberry, which had rich dark chocolate and strawberries, and will likely be my next full-pint purchase; Cookie Dough, which is a good spin on the classic; and Caramel Turtle Brown, which I liked as much as the Tin Roof Sundae if not more, so will be a future purchase.”

“Had a wonderful experience at Blackrock Wine Co.. The red wines recommended by the staff were excellent, and the selection felt thoughtfully curated with a great variety of flavors and styles.

The food and snacks paired with the wines complemented everything very well and really elevated the tasting experience. Everything felt fresh, balanced, and intentionally selected to match the wines.

The atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming, making it a great place to relax and enjoy good conversation over quality wine. Definitely a spot worth visiting for anyone who enjoys wine and thoughtful pairings.”
