“I went to this place to pick up breakfast for two. The place was very clean and bright and the staff was very attentive. I’m trying to diet so I got a poached egg on toast and it was great. “Absolutely wonderful experience! I took 12 employees out to celebrate the holiday season and see a show in Albany. From the time we called for a reservation, right through dinner, the entire staff, and especially our server Casey were so welcoming and accommodating. The drinks, food, and service were all superb! Casey made us feel like we were the only thing that mattered in the restaurant, while the kitchen and bar handled some special requests with ease! In a world where the meaning of hospitality seems to have been forgotten by so many, this restaurant still knows what it means, and executes flawlessly. I highly recommend, and will definitely be back when in the Albany area. (I may even have to make a special trip back just for this restaurant!)“

“Grappa 72 has always been my favorite. ❤️here’s why. I hadn’t been in awhile- used to go frequently, so I grabbed a to-go order of their excellent fettuccini bolognese and some bruschetta to take home after a very long drive- ❤️❤️❤️and had a glass of wine at their friendly and comfortable bar while I waited. It’s 100 degrees outside- so I wasn’t dressed (shorts and an ocean city tee lol) but it was early.. so I popped in to wait for my order. From reception to bar to the chef popping out with my order- to the other lovely guests who were popping in as well and enjoying banter and kind conversation.. the bartender primo making everyone happy- I can’t tell you how much that atmosphere warms my soul. Good people, great food, no pretensions, phenomenal service.. and I can attest from so many previous visits- a warm and inviting dining room where when they have music you never want to leave. Soooo well done from every aspect. Thanks Grappa!!! I’ll be back soon, I’ve missed you while I’ve been away! Did I mention the bolognese? “This place is so nice and the guy they had out front was awesome. Very friendly and good at making conversation that was appropriate for the situation. As soon as we walked in I could smell how good this place was going to be. The overall atmosphere was a really nice mix of casual and more upscale. Very nice seating arrangements and I loved the nice blue fake fire place. I would definitely recommend them. We also went during a time when it was not very busy about 4pm yet there were still a handful of tables full despite the unpopular time.“

When we found other establishments on New Scotland Ave closing their dining rooms by 9pm on a Saturday night, SakeCafe was graciously open, serving delicious food (we tried a little of everything from sushi to Udon) and with the best tableside service I've experienced in literally years. “4.5 stars. This is the NY style pizza i was looking for. I can’t say that I have a favorite place since not every place serves the exact same pizza the same way every time. I could probably go back on another day and not have the same quality. But for right now in the Albany area this is in my top three. The evening I went to get a study break and grab some slices of pizza while reading reminded me of my time in Brooklyn when I could get out of work, walk up the street to the takeout window and get a couple slices with garlic knots and finish them by the time I got to the grocery store. This was the flavor, this was the taste. A half a star removed since I wish the back crust, the part you hold, had just a little bit more flavor.“

“I was on the hunt for a Garbage Plate in my new home of the Capital Region; this is the only place I could find one on the menu...and I looked all over. I spent way too much time toiling with the prospect of not being impressed by a plate 200+ miles from Rochester. In my head, I said to myself, there are plates in Rochester that don't even impress; why should I give the time of day to someone so far removed? It took me over two years to finally pull trig. In retrospect, I am kicking myself. Portions aside, the plate here is absolutely fantastic, like wtf. The meat sauce seems to keep the obligatory warmth of nutmeg and cinnamon, but has a delicate spice that absolutely delights in its own way. The mac salad lights up my tongue with the zest of celery and the home fries give me the crunch that I deserve. The burgers are the greasy vessel that I have come to expect, but offer much more cohesion than a typical plate. I am barely exaggerating when I say this might be Top 2 plates of my lifetime. Couple that with an awesome atmosphere and an amazing happy hour and you've got gold. Thank you guys for scratching my itch.“

Trivia every Wednesday and karaoke on Friday are always a blast. All of the bartenders are friendly, helpful, and know their stuff. Great selection of all types of beer, with some canned cocktails, shots, and THC seltzers.

Very friendly atmosphere for hanging with friends, queer and POC friendly business. Music on karaoke nights gets pretty loud though.

Beer can run a bit pricey but they have delicious cheap options too.

They're dog friendly too so you can pet some cute dogs while you're drinking. And the patio is a big plus. Tables and chairs on the sidewalk are great for summer nights.“

“This place is amazing. I didn't know what to expect going in to the all you can eat restaurant. I was happily surprised that it's not buffet style. Servers and bussers. The restaurant is nicely styled and comfortable. The greeters and wait staff couldn't have been kinder or more professional. $28.99 is worth every penny just for that. The longest we had to wait between orders was no more than 5 minutes. The food was fresh, perfectly presented and absolutely delicious! I really can't find the superlatives to describe it. Everything combined made this experience one of the best outings I've ever had. I HIGHLY recommend this place.“

We had a great lunch at Cafe Madison on Northern Boulevard in Albany. She had a yogurt parfait with granola, and fresh fruit, all topped off with enough whipped cream to blanket this group. 🤣 I had a salad of mixed baby greens, walnuts, dried cranberries,poached pears, goat cheese, and a delicious apple cider vinaigrette. Our waitress, Ashley, was a delight. The food was great, but she's the reason I'll be back. Great customer service skills. She loves her job, and it's reflected in her positive attitude.“

The lobster tails were stuffed with shrimp and scallops with a creamy white sauce and cheese... the green beans seasoned perfectly with fresh garlic, the rice was cooked to perfection. The meal was perfectly plated and resembled a piece of art. I enjoyed every morsel. The lobster,shrimp and scallops were cooked perfectly. The staff is very friendly.
