“My absolute favorite place in New York. Luckily, Mike’s Coffee Shop survived the pandemic and is still as heartwarming a place as ever.
Simply a nice, original shop where you can have a good breakfast, be served by nice people and enjoy a perfect breakfast without any big fuss for little money.

“It looks like a greasy spoon sort of diner cafe. A neighborhood place. The meatloaf was good. The iced coffee was ok. The service was impeccable. It looks a little rundown but you don't go there for ambiance. I will return to try something else.“

“While in the area trying to kill time, we decided to grab brunch with an outdoor dining since we had our pup with us. Even though their outdoor patio wasn’t setup, there was a single table outside on the corner, which they ended up allowing us to sit at.

Once we sat down, the waitress was quick to bring us utensils and menus. Not only did she bring us water, she also brought ice and water for my dog —this was so generous for her to be so accommodating. For food, I ordered the Breakfast Burrito ($17) while the boyfriend had the Cheeseburger ($16) with Bacon (+$3). Our food came out quickly and they both also came with potato sides. The fries were super crispy and tasty, but the home fries were just ok.

Overall, the food is mediocre here —nothing to run home about. But what stood out to me here is the service with our waiter specifically. She was so helpful and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of the entire time.“

“I came here for some breakfast on my first morning in NYC. It’s my first time in America and wanted a true American diner experience. Westway went above and beyond what I expected. “Had breakfast there twice. Once solo and the next time with my wife. Consecutive Tuesdays. Just there this morning, after the golf range at Chelsea Piers. It's a combination of Greek and Mexican specialties. I have sampled the eggs overeasy with corned beef and this time had three poached eggs with fresh tomato and feta, home fries and coffee. All wonderful. My wife had fried eggs with ham on top of grilled taco. She loved it. This is a top notch diner with excellent service.“

“I appreciate talent and I believe you can find talent in anything. The art of "bread-tending" is observed to the highest level here. It may just be a piece of toast you use to dip in your egg yolk or eat with a little dollop of the best jam east of the Hudson river. BUT, that toast is more than that. There is a set of well trained hands that prepare that toast for you. Someone that has prepared toast thousands of times and everything from the sound of her slicing the toast is perfect. “Delicious huge sandwiches. Two of us ordered two sandwiches (cod, and eggplant parm We had lunch and dinner. Both were delicious. The service was excellent as well. The atmosphere was very sparse. It’s definitely a place to eat a good inexpensive meal, it’s not a place to go for ambiance. I definitely would recommend stopping by, but bring your appetite.“

“Ever since I was little, I would go to this restaurant so many times. I have so many fond memories. Even eating it today, it brings back memories of when my mom would take me and my siblings to eat there for dinner. At the time, they would close much later than they do now. Thankfully, I'm already walking home by 2 pm, and since I live close by, the delivery was nice and fast. The food is always delicious, generously well priced, and the customer service is always really nice. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger that came with fries, along with an extra side of onion rings. That came up to $20 on the dot, and with the portions they serve, I was more than happy with that price. I have, and I will continue to go to this amazing restaurant. I highly recommend it if you're in the area.“

We sat at the bar and our server, Rebecca, was super nice, attentive, bilingual (which was helpful for our group), and gave great food recommendations.

I ordered the braised short rib 5/5 would order again in a heartbeat, especially for the price. Comes with brasato sauce a lemon vinaigrette, perfect for cutting the richness. Some of our party ordered veggie burgers, others ordered chicken noodle soup. I also ordered a mocha.

“A cozy family run cafe with welcoming and friendly staff, their food is AMAZING and cooked with so much love! You CANNOT find any other spot that can beat their prices, that’s forsure!! Their breakfast is delicious - their French toast is a must have btw- and their burgers are great as well as the wraps, food is always served hot and quickly. As for delivery, they always exceed expectations because the food is always earlier than the suggested time and the drivers are very kind and friendly! Definitely recommend visiting, you won’t regret it!! They also have the best servers - Cleo and Aly are the absolute BEST ?“
