“I had an issue with an excess charge on my credit card for a take out order. The owner contacted me and investigated it. He refunded the excess amount and I'm glad they are on top of it. Great customer service and really wanting to make things right.
Overall, I enjoy eating here and I've recommended it to my family and friends. I have tried a couple of their dishes and they are popular for their handroll. Sushi set is also a must. The sea bass is my fave, it just takes a while to be cook because they grill it. My bf likes the hormone don. A good spot for those who wants to try korean/ japanese fusion dish. The take out box sushi set presentation adds a nice touch. ?“

“Absolutely loved our experience yesterday. The basic omakase was delicious at $38, no hidden charges, and staff were lovely. Only slightly minor quibble was everything seemed a bit rushed and a little less peaceful than other places I've been to, but fair enough at that price. I was also a bit surprised at the rudeness of a customer talking on her phone when the staff were trying to engage her. That's not the restaurant's fault but maybe worth having a sign about using phones less and being in the moment more?!“

From Onigiris to Tuna Don, Maze Gohan as well as ramen soups. I mean everything is so perfect. She has a great selection of sake to die for as well as beer. “I am a sushi snob and I will put Aoyu Sushi up against most sushi places in Manhattan. The quality of the fish is way better than similarly priced restaurants. Their Supreme Omakase costs $40 and it would cost $80 to get similar high quality fish like that anywhere in the city. My favorite sushi restaurant, it gets crowded at 5pm for dinner within 15 minutes of opening.“

“What a gem! My family recently decided to try to find another local sushi place instead of our regular spot and we are so happy we did. Just walking in was so warm and welcoming. This place is a real jewel box, decorated and styled so as you actually feel you are in Japan. Sandy, our host and server, was so nice and attentive. Chef Sung prepared some of the best sushi we have had in ages. The fish was exceptionally fresh and expertly prepared. We were really hankering for sushi that night so the only cooked things we ordered were shumai and eel but we are already looking forward to going back and trying more things.
I don't often know what to make of other reviewers takes as I do not know their palates. But I can tell you that we have had sushi everywhere from North Jersey/NYC, to SF, to Japan and IMHO this place was truly fantastic. The price was also right on point, not so cheap that you question the quality but not so expensive that it is out of reach. This is definitely our new spot!

“Brought my parents here for dinner. I ordered chirashi (sashimi style fish over rice), my dad ordered a sushi combo, and my mom got the broiled mackerel (saba). Food was delicious and the atmosphere was great — restaurant is nicely decorated and they were playing soft jazz music in the background. Service was friendly and prompt, I also had the opportunity to order our meals in Japanese which was a lot of fun. All in all, Fujinoya is my favorite Japanese restaurant in Westchester and I would highly recommend it!“

Tempura wasn’t comparable quality to other places in and around NyC at a similar price point. “This a very cool Japanese place on the east side of 125th street in Harlem. They have been here for years. Recently I happened to be passing through and decided to see what was up again. To my surprise they added some very tasty new menu items. I had a delicious spicy grilled salmon roll. A katsu chicken plate. A shrimp tempura roll( who doesn'tlove those), and a spicy grilled chicken roll and a French roll D-damn-licious!!!! The only thing i had i was not a fan of was these chicken wings. I'm sure plain they would've fine. But they put them in some type of sauce that was not very pleasing. Hard pass on the wings charlayyyy....lol. outside of that everything else was Grade A.

The people that own and run, this restaurant could not be more accommodating, helpful, and generous. Your experience had absolutely nothing to do with the outstanding quality of their food and service. If you have enough time to write that completely unrelated review and post it. Then you should find the time to consult with a physician and address your own personal bathroom issues. Regardless of your situation, ultimately they were kind enough to allow you to use their restroom.“

“I have been getting food here (mostly sushi) weekly since 2019 for my very elderly Japanese grandmother. She is very particular about the sushi she eats, and she always enjoys the sushi here. Plus she has never gotten food poisoning, which is utterly important for someone as elderly as her, and which is why we continue to order from here weekly. The prices are extremely fair, and the staff are always super friendly and accommodating, which is always such a pleasure :)
