“My absolute favorite place in New York. Luckily, Mike’s Coffee Shop survived the pandemic and is still as heartwarming a place as ever.
Simply a nice, original shop where you can have a good breakfast, be served by nice people and enjoy a perfect breakfast without any big fuss for little money.

“Delicious huge sandwiches. Two of us ordered two sandwiches (cod, and eggplant parm We had lunch and dinner. Both were delicious. The service was excellent as well. The atmosphere was very sparse. It’s definitely a place to eat a good inexpensive meal, it’s not a place to go for ambiance. I definitely would recommend stopping by, but bring your appetite.“

“I appreciate talent and I believe you can find talent in anything. The art of "bread-tending" is observed to the highest level here. It may just be a piece of toast you use to dip in your egg yolk or eat with a little dollop of the best jam east of the Hudson river. BUT, that toast is more than that. There is a set of well trained hands that prepare that toast for you. Someone that has prepared toast thousands of times and everything from the sound of her slicing the toast is perfect. The execution is impeccable and if I can get this excited about their toast, just imagine how well everything else will taste. The talent at this place is appreciated and recognized, keep it up guys! “The person on the phone was incredibly kind and patient, even though I had to keep asking him to repeat himself because of the noise on my end. The taco was pretty good, though I was a little disappointed to discover the sauce only after I finished one of them. On the bright side, the buffalo wings were amazing, especially when paired with the green sauce that came with the tacos which surprises me.“

“Be sure to have cash on hand. This place does not have transactions through using your debit card. You have to have cash in order to pay for your food. It does not have a sign that says must have cash, but when my wife and I went to pay for our breakfast we were told cash only. So as a heads up, make sure you have cash in your pocket in order to pay for your food. But overall we love the food we love the service and we love the atmosphere. Definitely recommend this place for anyone.“

“I have been coming to George's for many years now whether it is for dine-in or take-out. I have always gotten fantastic service and great food. The staff is warm, welcoming and treat every customer with the utmost respect. The restaurant itself is very clean, even before our current COVID situation. They take this pandemic very seriously and they make sure that they follow all the protocols suggested by the CDC and our State Government. They have been in business for over 60 years and I hope that this institution will be around for another 60+ years. #supportlocal“

“I've been on a donut quest in NYC, and 7th Ave Donuts & Diner has the best donuts I've had so far! Their donuts are fresh, fluffy, and perfectly glazed. I especially love their Boston cream.
The staff is also very friendly and kind. They make you feel welcome and are always happy to answer any questions you have.
Overall, I highly recommend 7th Ave Donuts & Diner. It's a great place to grab a delicious donut and enjoy a friendly atmosphere.

“A throwback Diner that we always want to have as part of our city's fabric. The owner was sitting at the counter and engaged me in friendly conversation throughout. The server was a joy and reflected true Brooklyn soul. I was hoping for Kalamata olives as opposed to black olives in my greek omelette, but why quibble on such a minute matter. It was great and I love supporting local independent restaurants.“

“Everything you'd expect from a diner. Staff knows the clientele. Food comes out fast. And if there is a problem, someone has eyes on it and comes to help right away.

Got pancakes and waffles my boys loved.

Got a wrap I enjoyed.

My partner got a salad. The protein (chicken kebabs) was delicious though wished there was a different greens option to pair with it. Spinach or romaine or even mixed seasonal greens.

Anyway worth a visit if you are craving a solid diner experience.

“It’s just mind blowing that people here try to downgrade this restaurant meanwhile they had just recently opened. Is it possible maybe bc the old owners are quite bitter they had to close down due to them being caught for not selling kosher? Maybe. Ever since this restaurant opened they had the DOH be called various times, even have people giving them horrible reviews lol. I have known these new owners for years being said they have a deli store and it’s good! The food here is amazing, customer service is at 100! “Reviews are all over the place on Mex Carroll's Diner. Can tell you this though, our meals were definitely 5 stars. Didn't look at the reviews before going here and glad we didn't as we might have passed it up. We were meeting with an attorney nearby and when we left we asked her about it. She noted she has eaten there many times and it was very good. She also mentioned it was a "Mexican Diner". Didn't quite grasped what was meant by this, but when we got the menu we understood. Whoa, tremendous menu. Over 20 different types of omelettes, 7 different eggs benedict variations, at least twenty different burger styles, pasta dishes, etc. Something for everyone. Never knew something like a "Mexican Diner" existed. Nice concept.

As mentioned previously our meals were 5 star. The same could be said for the service and dining atmosphere. We ate outside in their backyard courtyard. Pleasantly decorated and comfortable. Surrounded by greenery and most of the tables had large umbrellas to keep the sun from beaming down on you. No issues with the service provide by the wait staff. On our way out we were wished a good a good day. We had brunch which was an order of Huevos Rancheros and Eggs Benedict. Had a choice of red or green salsa to go with the Huevos Rancheros. Went with the green which was perfect. Not too spicy, but not bland either. It came with refried beans and yellow rice. Both were a delight. Ordered a fresh squeezed orange juice that was as fresh squeezed should be...in other words really good. Mexican Diner with tons of Mexican breakfast choices and what does my wife order...Eggs Benedict! Well, I guess that's the point of a diner. Lots of choices. Verdict on the Eggs Benedict was a thumbs up. Very good with no complaints.

BTW...Might have to put some of the one star reviews in context. One person left a one star because they wouldn't let him use the bathroom. Just came in off the street and wasn't going to order anything. Really? Also there are complaints about the prices. We thought they were reasonable especially considering the portion size.
