“We stumbled upon this unique bar when visiting the historic downtown. I promise this is one of the more unique bars you’ll ever go into. It’s attached to an antique store with cool items placed around the bar. Drinks were priced fairly. We are from out of town but ended up talking to the friendly locals after being inside a few minutes. Great place!“

“We got married at Vanderbilt Lakeside in August 2023 and had a wonderful experience working with Henrietta and Matt after stumbling upon the venue on Airbnb. It was meant to be because we later figured out that we had frequented Henrietta’s bar, Night of Joy, in Brooklyn when we first started dating and her amazing aesthetic really comes through. We had our closest friends stay with us at the house for the weekend and hosted 100 guests.The look and feel of the space is uniquely chic and quirky all at once with beautiful modern and vintage accents. It's quite whimsical which makes for awesome wedding photos - we didn’t need any additional decor, except for flowers. The backyard/deck space and lakeside views were exquisite in late summer sunshine. The day of our wedding the rain held out for us and we were able to have our ceremony on the lawn, facing the lake and had dinner under a tent on the deck with additional seating in the adjacent room with the sliding doors fully open, and dancing in the bar room under the disco ball. The lawn games and pool table added to the summery and fun atmosphere.Henrietta was very clear in her communication, very responsive, patient throughout our planning process from beginning to end, and offered recommendations for other vendors and services, which were really helpful to us. Henrietta and Matt were also super helpful and flexible in assisting us with our food and beverage selections, answering our many many questions, and providing staff (who were all friendly and professional) when needed. All of the food was truly excellent and everything was served on time. The grilled cheese sandwiches and handcut fries we had as afterparty snacks were a massive hit. Henrietta was also around and available to assist throughout our wedding weekend, which we really appreciated and she communicated well with all of our vendors.We’re so grateful that we found Vanderbilt Lakeside and will forever cherish the memories of our wedding there. We highly recommend it!“

“I love that you can choose your own adventure at Avalon Lounge. You can see a show, eat good Korean food, hang out upstairs where it's a little quieter, play pool, or hang in the main bar. It's always a good time. I also love that they do pop-ups/markets during the day sometimes on weekends!“

“A great stop after walking a section of the Empire State Rail Trail. Such a welcoming “inn” feel. The staff was super friendly. And there was a very large selection of beers from all over. This was our first visit and we can’t wait to go back. Parking isn’t an issue. There’s a lot right up the street if you can’t find street parking in the quaint town of Kinderhook.“

“This is a fantastic local brew pub run by two great guys, bothers. They are extremely knowledgeable, and that shines through in the quality of their beers. And they brew a variety to please every palette. While they make several German style beers, made with malt imported from Germany, they also make several Belgian style beers, British ales and American IPAs. I personally love their stout, porter, Scotch ale, pale ale, and kolsch.If you'd like to eat while you enjoy your beer, you can bring food in from any number of very nearby establishment's: a Mexican restaurant across the street, a pizza place a few doors down and highly recommended diner just down the street.If you are looking for a high quality, craft quality beer in a comfortable and friendly setting, then go here. “There is not enough room here to convey all the great things about this place! First off the owners are amazing and make this place what it is! From the moment we walked in it was like catching up with old friends and left there feeling like we were friends for life.
