“Delicious! Our group of 6 enjoyed meals from the lunch special, an absolute deal with each plate being under $10 and hefty, tasty quantities. We tried the General Tso, Orange Chicken, Sesame chicken, and Beef with broccoli. We will definitely come back here if in the area. Bonus for taking credit card, as opposed to most others in the area being cash-only.“

“I was there at Jian Nan Syosset, Long Island. Everything went great!! But, those took the orders needed to be more educated to understand each dishes. We were a fairly larger group than standard party size. Some dished were small and some dim sum served with small quantities, like 3 or 4. Those who order for the large group, should give suggestion to order multiple orders for the same dish. So, each one in the group can have at least one.“

“So much better than your run-of-the-mill Chinese takeout place! Their hot and sour soup is extremely flavorful and not watered down and uses quality ingredients! Their cold peanut noodles are wonderful. The sweet and sour pork is lightly fried and so crispy and airy. It is one of the rare places to get quality sweet and sour pork where they serve actual meat instead of stuffing it with fat... it's so delicate and melts in your mouth. The servers are very helpful and kind.“

“On our first day in NYC, we were craving some really good Chinese food. When we researched options, Shanghai Time kept appearing as a great restaurant so we had to try it. We were so glad that we did. We were really glad we did because it was fantastic. The staff there were very nice and attentive.
We love dim sum and this was a wonderful place to have it. They had a really cool version of soup dumplings. The ones they had were crispy and crunchy with soup inside. They're hard to cut without a knife and the soup kept squirting out at me so be careful eating them when they're still really hot. They were really good. Absolutely loved the pork buns which were super flavorful and pillowy goodness. Noodles are my favorite thing to have and these were fantastic. Loved the beef and the flavor of the sauce. It was also super saucy which I loved.
If you're in the area and like Chinese food, check it out.“

“I stumbled across this place: it’s sort of hidden away. My goodness was I surprised. Their food quality is outstanding. I am vegetarian and I had their orange soy chicken. Each bite was perfectly crispy and radiating with flavor. Words cannot do justice. I also like how it seems less-known, it is relatively cheap for the area, and seems family owned.“

“Waited an eternity to get in - almost 2 hrs. We got our names down for an hour later, came back at that time, and then had to wait down in the lower level all over again before finally getting a table. The food itself was just okay, nothing too bad or too good based on what we ordered (steamed dumplings, spicy noodles, and chicken fried rice). Overall, the wait is definitely not worth the food.“

“I've been coming here for a few years now and it is now time to finally make my review. The crab meat dumplings always hit the spot and I recommend this over any other option. Pork is alright but it is basic and you can get that anywhere, if you want something great then crab meat is the way to go. I definitely recommend the kung pao chicken, the peanuts were crisp, the spice was on point and the chicken was tender. The sauce to chicken ratio was a good amount as it didn't make the meal feel too watery. It was crispy and delightful.
The service in past years has changed, I have experienced great service and somewhat less of that in the past, but this time I went, the service has certainly redeemed themselves.
When you go to Joe's Shanghai, be open to trying more than just their soup dumplings.“

“Literally ordered one item — their fried tofu vermicelli noodle soup — and was shocked by the portion size. A huge bowl of their tasty duck bone broth, bok choy incuded as well, and all for $5. In this economy? Insane! Will definitely be back to try more of their menu if ever in the area!“

“I was initially a little hesitant about a restaurant known for authentic Shanghai cuisine adding Sichuan dishes, but the food completely won over my Sichuan-loving friend! The green pepper duck was incredibly tender and flavorful, the golden broth beef came loaded with bean sprouts, tofu skin and glass noodles, and the Kung Pao chicken was delicious and very satisfying. The Shanghai-style stir-fried eel was silky, savory and practically melted in my mouth, while the okra with yam was a nice, refreshing balance to the richer dishes. Bonus: with a $30+ order, you can add soup dumplings and several other dishes for just $1—definitely a deal worth grabbing!“

“I lived in NY for 37 years and nothing beats the food. That being said, I moved to Florida 4 years ago for work and haven't been back until last week. We went in for Thanksgiving (work), and decided we would do take out for dinner. This place was amazing. Food is always what I expected.....New York food is the best. The staff was super friendly, the prices were not anything crazy, and the food was ready within 10 minutes. We brought it back to the hotel and ate all of it. I don't know how food is where you are, but they always bury it in rice. Not here. They gave so much chicken and pork on top of the rice, I was very satisfied. Highly recommended.“

“I LOVE this spot!! Everything is house made you can tell she makes her own dumpling wrappers!! Very mom and pop shop you can see the dumpling master herself in the kitchen! “This place has the best, most authentic wontons I've ever had outside of Shanghai. Both the small and large wontons are delicious. Every time I go I get the large wontons to eat and a frozen pack to go. They have a delicious lion's head meatball too. I'd go daily if I lived nearby.“
