“What a beautiful transformation of a 50 year old bar. Still a bit of work to do but coming along beautifully. Can’t beat the drink prices. Very chill, mellow spot. Pool table available at no cost. Bar tenders are perfectly crazy and attentive. Mature crowd with never ending jokes flying around.

We window-shopped pastries and bagels, but were determined to return for a more delectable & delicious meal. So worth the wait! The spicy Brussel Sprouts salad was creative, layered with flavor and just delicious! The Benedicts had poppin’ poached eggs and a delicate, lemony Hollandaise. Avocado toast was topped with goodies but kept forward the toasty crunch and creamy avocado base. A cheery cherry spritzer with rosemary sprig was beyond delicious- a must! They just do everything right: consistently great classic and original cocktails, unfussy light bites that are better than they need to be (order the olives, for instance, and you’ll get a big plate full of Castelvetranos in a puddle of warm olive oil with good bread), and acoustics that allow you to appreciate the well-curated music and your conversation without yelling. If you do sneak in 😂 you will find friendly people serving OUTSTANDING food (small, careful menu) in a house that Jazz built.

Jazz folks this is the real deal. Everyone else should just come and enjoy the magic of live music.

Pro tip: come early for a seat for the 1st set or arrive late to get a seat by the 2nd set (most likely).

Vegetarian options: Small menu so check beforehand. My 2 vegetarians were fine.

If you live in the area or commonly come to Greenpoint, make Torst a stop on your travels. Friendly staff and reasonable prices make this a must visit for any beer and wine aficionado in your life. I hear the wings are on the spicier side so this is a fair warning. There is even an outside area that is dope. The food is hotdogs which I don’t eat so I can’t speak to that. 5 stars if the games were better.“
