“One word, phenomenal! My best friend and I had dinner here during our weekend trip and Daniel exceeded every expectation we could’ve had. We chose the Five Course Prix Fixe menu with caviar service and both the food and staff were excellent. “We found this gem of a bar/restaurant and visited five or six times. The atmosphere is amazing and the staff very professional and friendly. Eddie provided excellent service and Gabriel the owner is so welcoming and friendly and has time for everyone. The food was out of this world - particular mentions are Ravioli Zucca and the Brasato di Costolette di Manzo (short ribs to die for). The bomboloni (Italian doughnuts with chocolate and caramel sauces) is one of the best desserts I’ve had! We would definitely recommend this place. It’s in an excellent location opposite Central Park.“

“Went there for the bottomless brunch with some friends. While we had a blast, we misunderstood the bottomless brunch deal: on top of paying for an entree, you can get bottomless drinks for 90 minutes for 30 something dollars, which when you look at it you better be drinking A LOT for it to make financial sense, so be warned.“

“I had such a wonderful experience at Royale. First it has an awesome bar and restaurant indoors and the space outdoors is beautifully decorated. I have celiac disease and they had the most delicious gluten free nachos (made on site) ever! They were perfect. I was so happy I could have them and they were excellent! Great atmosphere and food! “Been here several times idk what took so long for the reverse, but this place is 10/10. Always great customer service and ambiance. Been for lunch when calm and busy dinner time. Food is always on point freshly made and hot. Flavors are robust. Pricing is average, but worth it. Love how much the business has grown. Can't wait to continue going back and bringing new people with me. The spicy calamari as appetizer never fails. For main course i had the penne (don't remember exact name) had mushroom and truffle added chixken as protein. My niece had the lobster spaghetti and she loveddddd it! “Some of the best drinks in the city mixed with delicious food. If you are looking to fill that amaro-forward bitter cocktail crave, this is your place. The cocktails are expertly crafted with care towards the floral and delicate flavors. Don’t scoff at either the Appletini or the Espresso Martini, they will best any iteration you have had anywhere else. Lastly…though it’s not on the menu…ask for a Vesper; you won’t be disappointed.“

“Been meaning to check this out for a while now and finally got to it, and now I’m kicking myself for not going earlier. Everyone’s right about the Mussels, they’re not to be missed. Burrata and Pork Shoulder Pasta were also a hit. Drinks are creative and tasty! This is definitely a restaurant where you’ll want to go back to try every item. “I’m so happy our original Christmas Eve reservation was cancelled and we found this gem. It was perfect. Romantic ambience, beyond excellent service, food was delicious, drinks were strong. My boyfriend and I shared: Appetizers: -Seared scallops: I know right, scallops. Generic usually? But these were in an amazing sauce which was devoured with our side of bread. -Octopus carpaccio: Perfect amount of freshness to balance the rich scallops. Main: -The wood fired fish for two: they brought the fish out from the kitchen to show us the fish in flames and that was very cute and appreciated -Meatless Rigatoni: I seriously held on to this dish to the very last moments even though I didn’t have enough room to finish it lol I was obsessed with the sauce Dessert: - Panna Cotta: the balsamic reduction was something I did not expect with this dessert but it was magical“

“i ordered their prosciutto and burrata (which comes with imported burrata and 24 Month prosciutto di parma), tonnarelli cacio e pepe (pasta with pecorino and black pepper), and infernetto pinsa (roman style pizza with tomato, mozzarella, spicy soppressata, and pecorino). all in all, every dish was made with fine ingredients and was cooked well. the burrata was very creamy and delicious, i would recommend it if you’re a fan of burrata cheese. the pizza had a good coal fire taste to it and came out hot and flavorful (the spicy soppressata was tasty, but i would like to try some of their other flavors eventually). the cacio e pepe was tasty and had a strong pecorino flavor (creamy, rich, slight cheesy musk to it). the pasta had good texture and mouthfeel (firm al dente noodles). all in all a decent spot for italian!“

“We visited on a Wednesday afternoon and it was bustling. I imagine weekend brunch is a whole vibe. The ambiance inside is inviting, warm and cozy (see photos). I appreciate the artwork, photographs and decor. It speaks to the rich heritage of Harlem and specifically to the area where the restaurant is located. There’s a decent amount of seating, some tables are closer to others than I prefer. However our table was perfect for me. You can make reservations which might be a good idea. There is also a good amount of outdoor seating. Visit their website for the policy regarding time allowed at table (to be able to accommodate more customers)… seems reasonable to me.Maia took good care of us. She was friendly, attentive without being intrusive and on point. She came back and checked on us although the restaurant was bustling as mentioned previously.There is a list of specials beautifully written on their board. With so many dishes I wanted to try… I must return (maybe for one of the live music events). I was intrigued by the fusion of food from different cuisines. I ended up ordering curry chicken sandwich with salad and plantain on the side. It was a good portion. I was full without feeling overstuffed. Definitely worth a trip to Harlem to check them out.“

“Went here on a Saturday late night. It was crowded but we managed to get a seat in the back for two. Cozy and warm ambiance. Their cocktail was veryshort but very well priced. Helps with any indécision.I ordered the Gin lizzy which came out pretty strong. Like a sweet Manhattan. Something with the mix of ingredients the vanilla & almond syrup, passionfruit, lemon & bitters gave it an aftertaste that I can't quite pinpoint.However, I did enjoy my husband's drink the Watermelon Drugstore made with Ojo de tigre mezcal, watermelon, honey ginger syrup and lemon. Also enjoyed their version of a spicy margarita composed of espolon, lime, agave, contreau.I'm glad to be adding a new bar to my roster. And the prices here make them very appealing. “SEARCH NO MORE for your next intimate & fun party venue! CHARLIE'S, The Bonnie's sister bar right next door was everything I dreamed of and more for my 30th Birthday party. Let me set the scene for ya'll... 35 of my closest friends, Game of Thrones themed decor & fits, cocktails that made everyone say "I drink and I know things" and the most fire food in the neighborhood... the party was a SLAY. Tali, the company's event coordinator, is the sweetest, most hard-working, and detail-oriented, especially when it comes to your event. She even went above and beyond to surprise me with a GOT themed menu by naming my cocktails after details of life. For example, she named the spicy margarita after my dog, "Kevyn the Kingslayer." COME ON! How amazing is that?!Speaking of cocktails... the incredible bartender, Olivia, bartended Red Witch magic with the amazing cocktails she made for everyone. She even dressed along with the theme, with her sword, serving vibes that was giving Night's Watch combined with Red Keep of the Bar. Everyone kept raving about every cocktail she made with style and care.When it comes to the food, The Bonnie always delivers, so of course my hopes were high for Charlie's. AND MY HOPES WERE MET! The ham and cheese toastie platter was delicious. The franks in a blanket were some of the best I've ever had. The beef sliders were a HUGE hit. And there were veggie options so we had the veggie quesadilla and the mac and cheese bites which were a crowd favorite.Overall, this party at Charlie's made me feel like Daenerys Targaryen on top of her Throne, like the Queen that was promised. “The food is normally for a swanky NYC location. The service is impeccable!!! Please go for the feel and the vibe. Such a wonderful place to dine. I recommend the pigs in a blanket, fries, and coconut cake. The burger was normal, and there is a quinoa burger for vegetarians. It wasn’t dry, but it was a little mushy when means it’s hand made! Overall, I think you should try it! The majority of the high pricing comes from the alcohol, expect to pay a premium. Oh, and I loved the calamari.Wheelchair accessibility: They have an elevator! I want to start off by saying first off all the ambiance and decor is incredibly unique and beautiful.Secondly everyone from manager Jonathan who went over and beyond to our waiter and the bus boy Ash was kind, personable, and so attentive.Our meal was delicious, I loved that they did not rush for us to put in the entire order. My group of 4 had a reservation.I think the expectations are pretty clear- if you expect to walk-in to an exclusive speakeasy, go early; if you're wish to go later, get a resy. People will be turned away if they're at capacity, especially if a big reservation is booked. It doesn't matter if your friends are inside- they have to follow code.The vibe is REALLY fun- it feels like a swanky house party with awesome music and drinks. I think the service was great for how busy it was. I only drank is beers, but my friends had fun cocktails and shots. “WINNER IS A WINNER. Wow guys, this place deserves more love! Only 18 reviews (?!) (at the time I'm writing this) shocking. Are the sandwiches teetering on $20? Yes. Are they worth it? 100%! Firstly, the sandwich is HUGE. I definitely could only eat half so if you want to come and split a sammy with someone that's a smart way to approach this menu. I ordered the midnight club (a somewhat different take on a cubano sandwich) fried pork, ham, Swiss cheese, mojo dojonnase and pickled jalapeños on a hoagie. I also opted to try one of their sauces, the ramp ranch as well as a hibiscus Arnold Palmer. So, let's break this sandwich down: - the hoagie itself is a beautiful, fresh piece of bread. Perfectly toasted and crispy exterior but fluffy, buttery and bouncey middle. They also throw a glaze on the top that's adds such a nice touch to the bread. - fried pork: think of a dark and deep fried mozzarella stick but without the cheese. This pork is tender and full of flavor. I absolutely love the breaded coating on this fry. It's crispy and crumbly and so so good. - love the ham & Swiss classic combo. The portions of everything it perfect for almost every bite - the dijonnase sauce on the bottom soaks into the bread just enough and really pairs well with all the other toppings - the pickled jalapeños are also a perfect addition of acidity and pop of spice The sauce is expensive at $5 but I'm so glad I got it. It was a special ranch and I'm happy that they basically provide a bowl of it for the price I also really liked my hibiscus Arnold Palmer. Extremely refreshing and a nice light lunch drink option. Just sweet enough. The space itself is gorgeous. I was not sure what to expect based on the minimal pics online but they have some bar/ counter seating at the front and a decent sized dining section in the back completel with sky lights and a shuffleboard (I think that's what it's called?) for night use I believe. I think they shift from cafe into a bar at night. As another review mentioned, you order at the front counter and the provide you with a table number and you can sit down and eat. The bartender was very helpful with me choosing my sandwich and was super friendly. One of the staff also saw that I wasn't able to finish the second half of my sandwich and came and brought me a box and I didn't even have to ask. This truly is a neighborhood gem and I will absolutely be back to try more items on their menu. 4.8/5“

“Was on an afternoon walk with a friend. Stopped in and had a drink and had the Guacamole as an appetizer.. I gotta say they were both delicious. “The grilled fish is great and enough for two people. The grilled chicken was well seasoned and also good. I just didn't like that you can't select the specific parts you want in your order. It's chef's choice and I got my least favorite part-- the breast. It wasn't as flavorful as the thigh but at least it wasn't dry. “It was my first time at Prohibition... I live on the east side and cannot believe we have never been there! The atmosphere is casual with adult audience and amazing music (last night's opening act was a solo artist playing bluesy jazz and he had a great voice!). This superior hospitality was our theme throughout the evening. The server ANFERNEE was prompt, professional, and polite while attending all of our needs. TEXAS-sized portions reminded us back home. “Came here for brunch with friends. We shared the breakfast gnocchi, the grilled cheese, the fried tofu, the shrimp burger, fried fingerlings, and beet salad. I also had a spicy margarita in honor of cinco de Mayo. Food came out pretty quickly. Mine, along with one of the group's, favorite was the shrimp burger. The fingerlings were a hit too. “The alcoholic pairing blew me away. The food, not so much. I can only recommend Restaurant Yuu if you love wine. For $180 you get to try 12 wine and sake with wildly distinct characters. Most of the bottles were priced above $85, with some being in the $250-300 range. Usually wine pairings are pretty bad value because only one or two stand out. The pairing here felt fully worth the money. Almost everything tasted amazing. Frankly, the drinks far outclassed the food in complexity of flavor and aroma.The food was much more about aesthetics than taste. Half of the food arrived lukewarm, perhaps from too much tweezer work. It was frustrating. Things were either not hot enough or not cold enough. There were glaring execution mistakes. It often felt like they were adding more and more components for quantity’s sake, but it did not translate to deeper flavors. The truly delicious dishes (asparagus, bread, sawara, squab, signature pithivier) were the ones with the simplest presentations that arrived piping hot. Though, looking back, the second half of the meal was really strong. It’s just that I sat through the first half hoping the food will get better at some point (which it did).In short, the drink pairing felt worth the $180, but it’s hard to justify $250 for the tasting menu when half the dishes were executed sloppily.“

“Great little Japanese inspired listening bar tucked in between two buildings in Brooklyn - the sound system was impressive and didn't disappoint, we were able to hold a conversation while still being able to hear all the details of the vinyl being played just a few feet away from us. “I pass the Penrose frequently, a block from the 2nd Ave Q entrance on 83rd. It is a perfect spot to meet up after work for drinks and snacks. Good music, friendly atmosphere. I tell everyone, my husband and I had brunch with our wedding party there. Great place. Recently my dad passed, and when trying to decide where to celebrate his life with extended family and friends my sister and I decided on The Penrose and emailed the events manager Chaya. She helped with everything, never got tired or short with her answers. We would think of all our questions after we signed off. Chaya made recommendations, helped our ideas come to life, and made a difficult moment easy. Day of memorial: Chaya and her team created the perfect atmosphere. Our server Emma and bartender Audrey were exceptional. The guests kept telling us what great service, atmosphere and food, but repeated to us how great the servers were. We had 30 people, in the back area with tables and bar seating. Chaya helped us choose the right amount of food, and beverages. Emma kept the area clean with out being intrussive, Audrey kept us “hydrated”. We had a buffet food area - food was great!They put to go boxes out for guest to take treats home. Thanks to Chaya we were able to truly celebrate dad, she had his play list, which we provided pumped in and a slide show with his great life moments on the screen over the bar. He served in WWII, a decorated war hero, with great taste in music. They also insured the Honor Guard ceremony, presenting flag and playing of taps went off seamlessly. As I said in my first paragraph The Penrose is a great place, but on this day it was exceptional. Chaya, Emma, and Audrey turned my dads celebration of life into a warm family moment that we will remember fondly and proudly. Thank you Chaya, Emma, and Audrey! “Stop by with a couple of friends on a Friday night, place is warm and welcoming. Started with a Negroni which was spot on, had hummus platter which was the best in NYC so far, falafel which was bigger in size than the known falafel but yet very tasty. My friend raved about the cauliflower, but the star was the smoked lamb shawarma. All in all, good experience with attentive and responsive service with excellent food. We would have stayed longer had the chairs been more comfortable. I’ll be back (German accent)“

“I can't base the full review, since our group didn't eat at the restaurant. We came to this establishment to have some drinks and then realized they also had hookah. This is a great little spot to go to for celebrations (the 8 of us came on Cinco De Mayo). The service was spot on, as we were attended to with any questions or concerns. If you are in the mood for hookah, this is one of the best spots in Queens to go to.“
