Absolutely wonderful food and service. They even offered separate checks. FYI they do GF pizza on their own tins, as well as gluten free deserts. Total win!“

“Dinner at old-school, red sauce joint, Bamonte in Williamsburg, one of the oldest restaurants in Brooklyn.

We are so glad we went early; this place is a scene! When we left at 9, there was not an empty table or seat at the bar. They still have a cigarette machine at the bar + two phone booths.

After cocktails, we had eggplant rollatini, chicken parm and pork chops with vinegar peppers, finishing dinner with Amaro Averna. The food was good; the service, outstanding.

And as a bonus, Kevin Kane from Law & Order SVU was dining there too!“

A couple we vacationed with has eaten dinner there 2 nights before and said how amazing the food was. One of the staff members even gave us a personal tour and history of the building. “The environment is comfy and cozy when you walk into restaurant and they had host waiting for us to sit our table The food Was great, for me and my mom , and stepfather as we all ordered different things from meat to seafood, and pasta dishes. The one ravioli that had a little ice in it or cold which i take one star away from it. But other than everything was good. Also, the owner is very nice and came to talk to us to our table.“

The restaurant held ~70 guests comfortably, the food was delicious, the servers were very kind and attentive, and our contact at the restaurant was incredibly responsive and easy to work with leading up to the event. We would recommend this space to anyone looking for a private event space! Or for a yummy bite to eat in the neighborhood.“

“Finally made it to Salvo’s and it did not disappoint. Serving some truly delicious sandwiches- we shared the mortadella with burrata/pistachio pesto and the eggplant parm. Hands down the best eggplant parm I’ve ever had. Such a beautifully curated space, feels special but not pretentious. You could tell everything was made with the freshest/high quality ingredients and the utmost care. Can’t wait to go back!“

“By far the best Italian in Astoria. Yes, it's very pricey (full on Manhattan prices) but it's a rare instance where you're paying for real quality.

Mushroom risotto with truffle was excellent, perfectly al dente, and not overpowering with the truffle. The ravioli were super delicate and definitely made fresh in house. Pricing at $32 and $38 is pretty nuts for a plate of pasta, but they were very good.

For appetizers, the calamari was clearly fresh, lightly breaded, and perfectly fried, and the meatballs were moist and tender.

Timing between the courses was great; enough time to digest and enjoy the meal with no rush.

Dessert - tiramisu and panna cotta - was fine but nothing special and overpriced at $14 a pop. I'd skip it next time.

All in all an excellent, albeit very expensive, meal and without a doubt the best Italian in Astoria.“

This is real quality Italian food, cooked and served by the same family since the 70s. The hosts, waiters and staff truly care about your dining experience and it really shows. Everything and I mean everything we ate was top notch. I got the carbonara my wife got the chicken parmigiana. I loved mine! Huge portions, quality ingredients. You can just taste everything in your food. The calamari was delicious, nice big calamari with a light breading and the marinara sauce is a real homemade sauce. You will not regret eating here I promise you that! They have a huge wine list and are very knowledgeable and willing to help you make a selection. I love the old school ambiance and the fireplaces are a beautiful touch! Prices are very reasonable! Actually kinda cheap compared to many other restaurants down here. I can’t wait to go back!“

We asked if any place was still serving. The "MAN" Vic asked what we would like, from one of the tables. We had tired, hungry tummies, and were a good hour from our original reservation time. The good people over at Sac's accommodated my family immediately, and with pleasure! My family ordered a variety of dishes, each one spectacular! 2 different pizza's, fried zucchini, sausage, and the BEST shrimp scampi I have ever eaten! The staff treated us like family, and were super attentive, anticipating our needs, and not missing a beat. At the end of our meal, Domenico Sacramone, one of the owners came by our table to chat, it was lovely and greatly appreciated! That's the extra touch of love, and attention someone who really cares about their business, and their customers puts out! It was genuine, and made the experience that much better!
