“Truly the best Mexican food I’ve had in the city so far. I didn’t know what to expect but the meats and flavor profiles were so developed. We had the tacos, bone marrow, Short rib, bass entree, scallops appetizer, and the rice pudding. Meat was juicy and smoked. Scallops were the softest most pure flavor I’ve had in a while and the spice completely opened up my palate. The bass with its accompanied salad was extremely intricate and well thought out to connect the two. Highly HIGHLY recommend Claro. Definitely coming back to explore the mezcal side of the menu.“
“This place has the most wonderful atmosphere and is truly one of the best Mexican restaurants that we have ever tried! Our server, John, was incredible and made so many great recommendations that made our meal that much more amazing! Highly recommend if you are in the area.“
“I went a couple months ago and the food is so good, we order some appetizers sopecitos de chorizo is one of the best in the menu and the guacamole another level, the drinks are so good we ordered sangria and margaritas. the place looks clean and good atmosphere.“
“I stopped by for drinks around 7pm on a Saturday with some friends. Thankfully there was a table available and we were seated right away. Bosco's has an extensive drink menu, and happy hour if you go during certain times on weekdays. The drinks were average NY prices, and were very good. I got the Sam Said So, while my friend got a Negroni. Both were very good! The service was great, and the decor was fun.“
“My all time favorite taco place in the city. Los Tacos No.1 was my favorite until I tried this place. Honestly you can't go wrong with any of their tacos but their pastor is my favorite. Whenever I am in BK, I will always make a stop here. Also try Tako Sando and Mallard Drake (al pastor hamburger) which is right down the “
“Went for my husband's birthday the place was packed, no I didn't make a reservation, I should have, however, they accommodated us at the bar, the only issue was that since were placed at the bar the guy prepared the drinks weren't so happy with us, idk if it was because we are and look like Mexican and the place was packed with white ppl or because we were eating there (at the bar) or he was just distracted, he seems to forget about us but not the rest of the ppl there, maybe he thought we wouldn't tip him idk ,I did feel a different treat, we spend a 300 dollars in total I'm gonna say the food was amazing the drinks as well the desert at the end was so good, I tip the guy with the 20% just because I wanted to remember him that we Mexican ppl have money as well and we tip as well, yes I'll come back with a reservation and hope I have a better experience because the food is worth it.“
“Before I even lived in the neighborhood Jajaja was easily one of my favorite restaurants in NYC. I have brought so many friends here because it is perfect from anywhere to a date night to a chill lunch/dinner to catch up with friends. Their cocktails are amazing especially their version of an espresso martini. All of the staff is so friendly and always make sure you're taken care of at all times. On top of everything and most importantly the food is AMAZING. Although I am not vegan anymore, I still can call this my favorite restaurant because they do everything on their menu so well and it's rare in my experience where vegan food is indistinguishable from non-plant based food and my favorite is the enchiladas mole. Highly recommend!“
“Came here this week for some tacos and drinks. The tacos were delicious and the drinks were really good with unique flavors that reminded me of Ghost Donkey (miss that place!). Mushroom Margarita and Adobada Bam Bam. Really nice place inside. The Happy Hour menu is a QR code on the menu. Plan on returning!“
“Decided to go in as we saw someone sitting by the window, enjoying his sandwich so much. Best decision ever! We’re 100% returning when we’re back in NY! The service and welcoming was outstanding, thank you Eli for making this happen. Food, vibez, authenticity and Michelada 10/10 ?“
“Had an amazing first experience here today - absolutely delicious steaks & tacos. The atmosphere was great - super comfy booths and stools, great lighting, excellent music - and the staff was so kind. A gem in Sunset!Kid-friendliness: Good atmosphere for kids, no kids menu but varied foods for everyone. They brought spill-proof drinks for the kids.“
“We came here on the recommendation of a friend and even with her glowing review, we were still blown away! Every dish was delicious, the service was friendly and attentive, and the prices were a steal. Our family had the truffle quesadillas, the carne asada tacos, and the langosta tacos. We shared an order of guac and the kids had the flan and churros for dessert. Great dinner; we can't wait to return!“
“Sombrero was a perfect stop before catching a show! Guacamole was delicious and … ahem… $5 margaritas for happy hour. Nothing other worldly but pretty darn tasty and for the price you can’t beat it! It looked Ike their regular marg menu was pretty expansive if you prefer a fancier beverage. Great place and I’m glad stopped before the show.“
“I can not write enough good things about this Mexican restaurant. To begin with, this is the most authentic restaurant I have come across in Hell's Kitchen. It has been at its location for over 20 years! That alone says enough. I came in for happy hour and their deals were great. I was attended by a young gentleman, Eric. He was so attentive and made sure I was well taken care of. The food was great I had the Mole poblano platter with HOMEMADE tortillas and my god they were so amazing, every single bite. I had the most delicious mango margarita after several happy hour drinks. My last drink was a double with a Tajin rim. Eric informed me all of their drinks were made with natural fruit - so keep that in mind. They have the most amazing tequila and mezcal selection. Eric was very informative about their selections and recommended some Tequilas I have never even heard of in my life. Their prices are fair especially because everything is so perfectly made and super fresh. Thank you Eric and Tulcingo Del Valle for your attentiveness! I will definitely be returning!“
“great fish and shrimp tacos! fresh corn tortilla and super flavourful shrimp. try all 3 taco options (all seafood based) and sit down in the rustic mexican ambiance while enjoying your meal. cheap beer too! not too packed. fav tacos in the city.“
“I came here yesterday for a typical Monday lunch and I love how their bar is set up. The server was very nice. I had the Pollo Coco Tacos and they were really good with guacamole on the side. I also had Latte with Gluten Free Chocolate Chip Cookies. Pretty convenient location next to a Subway station. Cool! After getting off the train, you can stop by here for a quick lunch.“
“Had a birthday celebration here and the food was so delicious. Staff super friendly. The place itself was LES style, seemingly cramped but as a native I know that’s just how things were built back then. Glad my sister made the reservation to eat here ✨“
“My favorite Mexican seafood spot in town. Their camarones sarandeados were perfect. Their aguachile verde was from heaven with the perfect amount of heat. The fish tacos are great but everything else is much better.Kicker, I’m sober and love mocktails-the virgin michilada is by far the best I’ve ever had. All in all the staff is the cherry on top, they are attentive and friendly.Being from the Pacific Mexican community, you feel so far when in New York. For a mere moment you will find yourself on the beaches of Sinaloa. Honestly, I’m already plotting my next visit always.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp up to dining hall.“
“Watch out chipotle, they coming for you. I got a burrito bow at Tacobees, the ingredients are fresh, the spicy queso slamming, the steak properly seasoned, their hot sauce is homemade, and the portion is HUGE. Extras are also not that much, more. I just wish you had more “
“fantastic spot!!!! as a mexican is always a pleasure to find a legit mex place! with great food and kind people! we went for dinner, beto and the crew were amazing! we had flautas, tetela, quesadilla and a sope and everything was amazing!!! we also had a concha as a dessert and drinks and mezcal, we will be back for brunch! ?❤️? thanks crew for taking us to our georgeous ??“
“An absolute gem of a vegan mexican inspired restaurant! Jajaja Mexicana has an amazing menu of so many classic and traditional Mexican dishes, while adding their own spin of modernism! They had so many options to choose from I had to try everything! Everything I had was absolutely delicious! The space was beautiful with plants and flowers! We got here around 6pm without a reservation and it was pretty empty then it quickly filled up around 7pm! The service was amazing; all staff was quick, tentative and overall great! I'd definitely come back whenever I visit the city! ??Vegetarian options: All vegan menu“
“I was lucky to have received a recommendation for this amazing Mexican restaurant when we visited NYC. For us, this reunion was very important, friends that feel like family and who we wished to pamper. Rika, Chef Zack, and the whole team made us feel right at home. Excellent food and service. A place that, as a fellow Mexican, makes me proud of how our culture is showcased. Thank you all. Can't wait to come back, guys!“
“Love the food here! Definitely worth the wait. I recommend the guacamole with mango and the strawberry lemonade. It does get pretty busy on the weekend so if you are in a rush come on a weekday instead! However if you are having a chill weekend definitely dine in and get a molcajete with the green sauce. The presentation is beautiful. Shout to the servers, cooks, and delivery guys for all their hard work.Vegetarian options: Most of their dishes can be made vegetarian or vegan. The rice and beans is animal product free!“
“A new favorite. Food is stellar- get the steak and dip it in the potato sauce (thank me later). Immaculate service- kind, lovely people. Small spot but great vibes. Perfect for a date night or special occasion. Oh and get the flan and for dessert!“
“Experience at Alma Negra last night was outstanding. The service was so incredibly welcoming, I asked about wines and the bartender immediately took out their four bottles and poured me a taste of each. They were all refined and balanced. It was hard to choose but settled on a South African white. Just a touch of oak, which stood up well to the flavors of the meal. I ordered a taco, tamale and aguachile which is a Mexican ceviche — they were all delicious. Like moan out loud good. Beautiful ambience and serious great chef.“
“The food is delicious here ! I got the Birria deluxe. It came with a cup of consomé, a taco de birria, empanada de birria, and I want to say a quesadilla de birria but I’m not quite sure I think it’s their twist of it. Overall all three were so good my favorite was the empanada never had that with birria and my mind was completely blown away with how delicious that was. I will say it does get chaotic inside with many people ordering waiting and on top of delivery orders so the wait was on the 30-45 mins. Other than that 10/10. I did also try the agua de horchata. I won’t say it was my top suggestion for horchata I felt it more on a leche side like a smoothie almost not sure why it was made that way instead of being more on the water side like it normally is but maybe that’s just their twist to it. Other than that great food. This was all $19.. the food itself was $15 .. so I know that can be a little high for some. One taco is $5.. so I would take that into consideration for some“
“This place is a gem! Located in one of my favorite areas to visit in greenpoint. Panzons atmosphere is amazing even on a rainy day. I had to opportunity to try the new brunch menu. What a treat! Do not skip the Chilaquiles, so much flavor. The pollo torta was unique and tasty. Make sure you get the tres leches French toast for the table. Can’t wait to come back to try the tuna tostada and ceviche!“
“I'll keep this short and to the point: this is the best burrito I've had in the city hands down, and it's not close. Everything fresh and phenomenally seasoned, the lengua is succulent, the al pastor just the right spicy-sweet mix, I can't wait to try a few more meats. The staff is super friendly and the food comes out quick. As far as ambiance, getting in and out of there in record time is all you really want from a food truck. The best.“
“I had never been to a Mexican restaurant with a concept like this, the food was phenomenal and very authentic, I had a spectacular and very well balanced tuna aguachile, the octopus without any comparison, and I finished with a Valentine's week special that was a red snapper Delicious, very eager to return to try the rest of the dishes. Oh, I failed to mention the very pleasant service and the beautiful decoration, very cozy, highly recommended.“
“Ive been here a couple of times and as a LA native, this place definitely makes tacos that remind me of home. There is only outdoor seating so I would keep that in mind if you plan on visiting during colder weather. But The tacos were delicious and I got way more queso and chips than I was expecting. They were sold out the last time I stopped by so that should give you a good idea of the quality of the food.“
“5/5 for the mole and the homemade conchas. As for the atmosphere, it’s colorful and lively, the staff is happy to be there and they demonstrate it with their warmth and friendliness. Now the food was not Mexico City standards, but it was probably the best Mexican food anywhere on this side of Brooklyn. I highly recommend the chicken mole which has a velvety chocolate and nutty taste.“
“This was a delivery order and it was my first time. Mexican food can be hit or miss, especially from city to city. This was a hit right out of the park. I ordered a bean and cheese burrito with guacamole and chips, and one side of salsa and a side of guacamole. Portions were impressively large. The burrito was a 10 out of 10. The guacamole was also a 10 and the price for all of it was very reasonable, especially for NYC. This place is a game changer. Whatever you're doing... Keep on doing it!“
“Lovely place for breakfast! There is a lilting Mexican music playing while the host and hostess go about serving their guests, all with a smile. Food is simple but tasty. Priced reasonably, you cannot go wrong ordering any one of their dishes.Tea is served as well as coffee and soft drinks.Nice decent tables and chairs. Good ambience.“
“Happened upon this restaurant with friends, and what a great find it was! Food was very good. I had the Enchiladas with their special Mole sauce. Excellent. The staff was also very friendly and attentive. This will now be on my list of favorite restaurants to visit and recommend.“
“Stop by for dinner without a reservation and The Manager and hostess were very accommodating on a very busy night . We had the fish empanadas that were deliciousA couple of MargaritasGrilled Branzino and fish schnitzelA wonderful experienceKudos to the CheffExcellent service, fantastic food and great atmosphere!Definitely a special place“
“We’ve come here a few times, and it gets better with every visit! The pickle pear margarita was outstanding and everything we ordered (guacamole, scallops, and rib eye) were all excellent. Our server, Chris, was super attentive and very helpful with the menu — just overall a fantastic dinner and experience. Looking forward to coming back soon!“
“My new favorite restaurant in the city! Had an amazing dinner here with a large group. The tasting menu was so worth it and we got to try so many different types of foods. Every bite was incredible but a few of my favorites was the duck, fish tacos, and fois gras. The cocktails are super innovative and delicious too.Where Xixa goes above and beyond is the SERVICE! I have a few dietary restrictions and they were super accommodating. They provided substitutes from the tasting menu to supplement the original dishes and they also skewed the menu a little in the direction ahead of time. I've never received that level of service before and the staff were just so nice and attentive. Thank you!!“
“These people do not have disposable utensils whatsoever! Food is good, but if people order out it is only common courtesy to provide disposable utensils. I was on my break and it was impossible to find disposable utensils. That really bothered me.“
“Omg. Amazing food. Truly friendly owner with spot on recommendations. Deserves the high ratings. Mexican food here is all Puebla CDMX in origin. I’m more of a Cal Mex guy but fell in LOVE w the options here. Go! You won’t regret it.Vegetarian options: Lots of mushrooms and cactus options thst don’t feel like an afterthought which is the case at other Mexican places. Totally happy.“
“lovely hidden gem on Avenue A between 13th and 14th streets. The place is family owned and operated and the food is to do for. It is reasonably priced, I often find myself trying to figure out if I want a tamale or a shredded beef or pork taco.“
“Good food and drinks. Beer was ice cold! Chips and salsa sampler was fun. The chips being full taco shells was different. The carnitas were the best tacos. Steak was good too. Potato was interesting but don’t let it sit- eat it first or it will Get soggy.“
“I was so happy when this place moved into the area, because there are very few good options for Mexican food, or at least there were. This place is really amazing there meat is fresh, their vegetables are fresh and their tacos are really great. The staff is super nice. The taco al Pastor here might be among the best in the city only because the pineapple is cooked on the grill and it’s really nice. That charred caramelized pineapple as a real beautiful flavor. Reasonable prices too.“
“Hidden gem of a food truck. Lots of meat in the tacos. Delicious consomme. Open late. What's not to love? They have a deal for 3 tacos but I recommend getting 5 if you are hungry.Consomme has lots of meat chunks too so you will get your fill of protein here.“
“Sloppy and yummy Mexican tacos. So so so good! The taste was great, so flavourful. The soup next to it was perfect. I would highly recommend this place. Price was a little steep for my understanding but maybe that’s just the area. Friendly staff, cute atmosphere and great taste. What a dinner! Be prepared to get your hands dirty!“
“Absolutely excellent! This place did not disappoint AT ALL. Having multiple Mexican restaurants very close to their location they stand out for their authenticity to the Mexican flavors. Julio was an excellent host as one of the owners/managers. So happy I had that experience at mayahuel, definitely going back.“
“I had been wanting to come here for months after passing it every day and finally stopped by. It was incredible! We had their enchiladas and flautas and rice and beans. They tasted so authentic and homey like what our family cooks (but slightly more elevated). The special on the night that we went was a tamal oaxaqueño and it tasted exactly like the ones my partner and I have had in Mexico. I’ve been here a few times now, both for dine-in and takeout, and it’s a new favorite of mine.“
“This restaurant was absolutely incredible. It started when our waiter, Edison, from Ecuador greeted us and we had a very nice conversation with him, about his life, family and time in NYC. We started with Guacamole and chips. It was absolutely yummy. When our daughter arrived, we all ordered Shrimp tacos, which were delicious. Edison introduced me to the owner, Petru, from Moldavia, as I am a Google map contributer. What a very nice man, he came to our table and we talked for about 45 minutes. As a result, we were given free churros, so tasty, free shots(mine non-alcoholic) and my husband and daughter, free Drinks ,called Palomas. This Bar/restaurant is the foremost tequila/mescal place in Brooklyn! The bartender, Uriel was a really sweet man, also. This beautiful place will be one of our places to visit, when we are in Brooklyn!“
“absolutely amazing!!! great local spot to visit in bay ridge. such a warm and welcoming environment, although the space was small the vibes were not haha. the staff was very welcoming and friendly and stopped by often to refill water or ask if we were in need of anything :) highly recommend because the food was AMAZING!!!“
“I love coming to this location! The service is always on point. Attentive waitstaff and fresh tasting food. The drinks are delicious as well. The ambiance is so nice and the music was a nice mix of Spanish music. If you're lucky enough to have Luis as your server he is amazing!“
“DELICIOUS AND REALLY FUN!I went to Tacombi on East 70th St on Sunday night with my dinning partner. After a cold rainy Saturday New Yorkers definitely had cabin fever and wanted to enjoy the beautiful night. The rest was crowded and the smell of DELICIOUS food was intoxicating. I ordered Baja Crispy Fish Taco and Black Bean and Sweet Potato Taco -both were FANTASTIC!My dining partner ordered Quesadillas with chopped steak onions and chili. He was ecstatic! Both of us ordered the best margaritas we had ever had. I highly recommend this place you must check it out. You will not be disappointed and you will have a lot of fun...“
“This is one of the best birthday dinners I had in 38 years! Truly an amazing experience Amalfi was the best waitress with the best personality and full of life! I am glad to share and celebrate my birthday here at Don Tequila Urban Cantina of Queens!“
