“My friend and I caught up over a delicious meal here! I picked the mushroom sundubu and she picked the tteokbokki - both portions were mighty generous. We were seated promptly despite a busy Sunday lunch crowd and our food came swiftly after ordering. The handsome waiter pulled the smoothest move ever by taking my card after I asked to pay for my table (when my friend was in the bathroom) then when she fought for the bill, he took her card too and normalcy returned. But then he returns moments later with the bill on my card! Deeeefinitely smooth and saved us the growing Asian debacle of who's paying LOL. I forgot to take his name but he was the one with the light brown wood colored glasses - bravo.“
“I attended a surprise party this Saturday evening. The cuisine was preselected, waiter service was excellent, should receive raises. The table arrangement was very poor. The party was downstairs in one of the private rooms. We were 25 people at one very long table, basically the length of the room, which made it difficult for guests to get around the seated persons at the head of the table on either side. Having two tables would have been a better arrangement, but one long table was not conducive for conversation since we were so far from the other end of the table. The food; not many complaints, I really didn’t have a problem. I didn’t have a lot of food, but it was delicious. The dessert, sorry not very good. Those Famous Crepes(palacinkes) sorry not that great. A lot of crepe and not a lot of filling. The dish was served with fruit, unfortunately this fruit was not in season, so the watermelon although it added color to the dish, upon tasting it, left much to be desired. Why not serve fruit that is in season? No offense to my party hosts who selected my menu for the evening, it didn’t lend itself to the 5 Star Reputation of Dubrovnik’s. I would like to make reservations and splurge on a dinner on my own, I have a feeling I would LOVE the experience! Btw, another plus was the parking!“
“The food was awesone!!! And the chef was super friendly. I have eaten the Salmon, fried whiting, string beans, Mac and cheese and corn bread. All were favorful and delicious. “We had a magical night at Meraki Taverna with friends. We were greeted with enthusiasm and seated where we could watch the kitchen. The waitstaff made us feel welcomed and offered great advice for our dinner and drink orders. We had the octopus and artichoke apps, which were delicious. Lamb stew, sardines and chicken kabob entrees with walnut cake and custard in phyllo dough for dessert. Everything was perfect and we felt like we were in an authentic Greek taverna for the evening. “First of all, it was not only Easter Sunday but my birthday. I didn't want to go to Manhattan; I wanted a good Italian restaurant close by and this was by far the best pick that I could make. We started with Clams Casino and Clams Oreganato. They both were absolutely, fresh, tasty and we loved them both. I had the capellini with crabmeat and shrimp and I was so pleased with the taste of the creamy tomatoe sauce and the sweetness of the crab meat and delicate flavor of the shrimp. This pasta dish was superb. My husband ordered the Seafood Pescatore with linguine. He was enjoying the dish and all the seafood ; mussels, clams, calamari and shrimp were all tender, fresh and delicious. We ordered the creme brulee with blackberries and dragonfruit. What a wonderful burst of texture, creaminess and crunch of glazed sugar browned to perfection. We have found our Italian Cucina that will be our "go to" in Yonkers. Tutti a mangiare a tavola.“

“Yummy seafood. Good date night. It was a week day, so not so busy. I was told it was difficult to get in on weekends. I had mussels as an appetizer and some kind of chicken dish (basically chicken piccata) with risotto on the side. The mussels were amazing, and they had like a broth and toast on the side. I had in mind the chicken would be a little different, but my husband thought it was really good. The risotto was creamy and flavorful. I decided I needed a vegetable, so I ordered some broccoli. They cooked it butter with some garlic slivers, and that broccoli was just delicious. I was stuffed after that, and had that broccoli taste for a little while. Amazing.“

There were also traditional main course options, as well. We ordered a variety of fish tacos, calamari salad, brussel sprouts, and of course guacamole and chips to whet our appetites. Each were scrumptious. I had the braised beef as my main course which was moist, delicious, and just the right portion. We shared churros for dessert, which were light, crunchy, and simply divine. Service was very attentive with plenty of staff. Valet parking was a nice touch, particularly since parking can be a challenge in the area. Overall, a very fun and enjoyable dining experience.“

We began with Sonoma Saint Francis Chardonnay, with a splendid array of plump East Coast Oysters, an order of delicious Oysters Rockefeller, and hubs enjoyed his yummy New England clam chowder as he did in 2019. Entrees of: Blackened Tuna with Lime sauce, a silky Grilled Salmon Filet Beurre Blanc with pearls of Salmon Roe, and a large Caesar Salad with grilled Chicken strips. “We haven't been to Ruth Chris in a good while because the last time we were there, the whole visit was horrible; not so much by the waiter but by the kitchen and it wasn't really crowded as it could be, no where near that. This visit went off like we are used to having things go and the food to be. We both got the filet mignon and it was a nice cut seasoned well and a good amount of butter sauce, the mashed potatoes which looked so buttery and softly whipped and broccoli steamed. I ended up getting an order of broccoli with oil and garlic to go. We got the bread pudding for dessert without the jack daniels sauce on it. Everything was soooo good. Oh for an appetizer we got the stuffed mushrooms which were sooo good. They had good amount of stuffing, a slight zing to them but the only issue is that they don't have juice or sauce to baste the mushrooms. How can you not have juices for the mushrooms added from cooking? I had the pomegranate martini and I loved it. I usually don't like liquor but this drink was excellent without the liquor overwhelming the drink. I love the salt on the glass, it was very refreshing without being sweet. Santiago, our waiter who we've had on several occasions, was on point as usual with our ordering and seeing if we needed anything else including our drinks, and his assistant Jose Rodriguez was attentive as well in clearing the table, getting the crumbs off the table and then in packing the food. This was the first time we didn't have any liquids dripping all over the inside of the bag. I didn't get the sauteed mushrooms so that might have been helpful. After them bringing the mushrooms cold the last time we were there, I was not interested in testing that again. With this visit being what we are normally used to with the food, we will definitely start going back again. This was such a pleasant surprise because even the steaks were falling below standards in taste as well as looks. Thank You for restoring our faith in your restaurant.“

When it did, the snow pea leaves were only warm and the duck with mushrooms was dry (in spite of being served lukewarm on a layer of fat). My deep fried whole fish took another 10 minutes and when it arrived it WAS FROZEN under the “crispy skin”. THEY USE FROZEN FISH!?!? I suppose the fish in the tank are for show!!
