Today I went there at 9PM, after a long day at work. Artistically designed with an open counter facing the street for drinks and dining, a high ceiling and plenty of open space, displays of imported delicacies, freshly prepared takeout and pastries as you walk in (we were there last night and the front was open which was great) give way to a sit down eatery reminiscent of a Greek taberna. Our server Katerina was helpful, engaging, and took a genuine interest in my group. The food is perfectly prepared by Chef Phil. His tzatziki has just the right seasonings, the beet, almond, and goat cheese salad is perfect and plentiful, the roasted veggies and lemon potatoes are fresh, crispy, and light. My roasted salmon (with an extraordinary glaze) was the most delicious I’ve ever tasted. My sister loved her pesto. At work we will have a catered lunch maybe once a month and it is not easy to coordinate & get great food for an office of 50+ people. But they really got it right! Food came hot, on time, and they very generously provided serving utensils, plates & cutlery. Food: we got the greek salad, rice, lemon potatoes, chicken souvlaki, gyro, falafel, tzatziki & falafel. Everything was super fresh & delish. -- salad had big chunks of feta & some grape leaves. Lemon potatoes are one of my favorite things and this definitely made the list of some of the best. -- chicken came in big chonks and was a pretty moist; and considering i took one of the top pieces from the giant tray for 50 people and it was better than i expected. Only thing is that it felt a little bland? Bit it had great sear and was plentiful! -- gyro was not too salty which is a huge deciding factor me if a greek place is good! It was NOT undercooked in any way but i personally like the burnt bits so i took some leftovers home and airfried it and it was amaaazing. -- falafel was much bigger than i expected - like a golfball? Maybe bigger? Outside was crunchy and the inside still moist and was probs the best falafel i had in monthss. I personally prefer falafel thats not as coarse but again thats a personal prefernce and did not stop me from having a bunch. -- the tzatziki was thiccc like hard to scoop thick. It was honestly amazing! We got some extra lemons so i did thin mine out a bit and i think that helped add a lot of brightness to the meal. We went for dinner on a warmer night in March and sat in their covered outdoor area. The ambiance made us feel like we were having dinner on a warm greek summer. They had olive trees and white tables which made it feel nice and bright. It requires at least 2 people to participate and it was definitely more than enough food to make the both of us full! We started with a greek salad, 5 spreads and some beets and olives. The pita was soft and warm and our favorite dip was the whipped feta with red peppers, but this experience allowed m to try things like a salted and cured roe dip which I surprisingly enjoyed. We then had multiple dishes consisting of fries, grilled octopus, different sausages, and hen. The grilled octopus and hen was perfectly cooked and our favorites. The drinks are also really good and I appreciate their large variety of greek wines along with multiple organic choices. The service here is also really amazing. They are helpful through the menu if you are not familiar with all of the dishes. They realized we were celebrating something provided us shots of ouzo on the house. No long lines waiting for food (or to PAY) like other places in Five Towns. I told the guy behind the counter that I need a generous food portion to eat while I'm driving. So he suggested the shawarma laffa. When he asked what I want inside, I said the 'works'. By the time I filled up my salad container and washed hamotzi, the laffa was ready to go. Eating it before it gets soggy is the key to success with this. Because if it happens, it'll be a mess. This shawarma laffa was a magnificent cylinder of craftsmanship filled with shawarma, salad, fries, fried onions, chumus, and more. And it was wrapped so well, that I could peel it a little bit at a time and eat while driving. One hand on the wheel, the other holding the laffa. She mentioned having gong to Yummy Yummy with some of her girl friends recently. I agreed and we headed out there.We arrive about 6:45pm and most Bell Blvd, 48th Ave or adjacent streets surrounding the restaurant are paid metered parking till 7pm Mon thru Sat, and Free Sundays. On the side roads if you walk further you'll notice where the paid metered parking ends there is free public parking. My wife called ahead and made reservations for my birthday for 7pm. In conversation they reserved us half a Hainanese Chicken. That was a good idea because the place was packed at 85% full when we arrived. This evening was cold and a col breeze would rush in when the front door was opened.This restaurant has its own style. It's clean, well lit, ceiling fans in the front half with wood planks hanging vertically evenly space like steps getting lower toward the front of the restaurant. The planks are burnt with texture and they seemed to absorb sound making the restaurant atmosphere less noisy with so many patrons talking - it was comfortable and you could hold a conversation. The tables and chairs were sturdy, clean, and did not rock or creak.The wait staff were courteous and attentive. If you speak Cantonese you'll enjoy your dining experience because my wife conversed with our waitress asking about dishes before we ordered.We ordered the following dishes and am listing them in the order they were served.Roti Pancake - we ordered two which was served with a small bowl of curry chicken with chucks of potato.Cumin Pork Knuckles - served in a plastic basket they were crispy and mouthwatering savory.Fried Beef Chow Fun - my son immediately mentioned the dish had Wok Hei, the beef and noodle was savory.Steak with Back Truffle and Mushrooms - The beef was tender , with thick slices of mushroom and potato, and the truffle infused sauce was delicious.Hainanese Chicken - there was a slight wait on this dish. The check was tender and moist, it was served on a bed of thin sliced cucumber. A sauce tray with four sauces accompanied the chicken adding to the flavor of this dish.* I'd recommend any of the dishes we ordered, but my top favorites were the Chow Fun and Steak.Normally I'd have provide pictures of all our dishes, but the food did not disappoint so I was only able to ask at the last moment my daughter to snap a quick picture of the Hainenese Chicken which I'm still waiting on her to forward to me for this review.Payment - We were told they didn't take Discover, and listed MasterCard or Visa, and cash is king.I gave Yummy Yummy 5 Stars based on the food, service, and atmosphere.
