“I went to ‘Sweet Chick’ today with my family. It was pretty random. We left the ‘Blend LLC’ since they wanted us to wait an additional 20 minutes. Keep in mind, we RSVP’ed in advance. So, we ended up waiting two more blocks here. It was completely empty. We were the only people at first.

The food was excellent. I got a Nashville Chicken Sandwich with French Fries. The hot sensation wasn’t unbearable. The atmosphere, aesthetic, and music were impeccable. My family and I plan to revisit this location. Highly recommend it👏🏾!“

“The service at this restaurant is amazing. I have a problem with the Popeyes app with some of the specials, mainly the cheaper specials. The app says the store doesn't have the items. When you get to the restaurant, it's available.
The app seems to be trying to up sell the more expensive items. This has happened in two restaurants with the app.“

“Amazing elevated chicken. It's not just chicken, however. Oysters were superb. Salads (the scallion salad is an absolute delight) and all the sides are just superior. Little touches that seem whimsical but are just spot on - try the 24 carat nugget with caviar. Excellent star-studded champagne list; why not? Staff were just exceptional. Special shout out to the sommelier who came by and spent time even though we didn't buy a killer bottle of bubbly. We will return.“

“I went to Dave’s hot chicken I ordered my food didn’t look at it until I got home and got someone else order but I wouldn’t go back because it was a 30 minute drive was upset bout not getting what I paid for.“

The small boneless chicken was honestly huge and the chicken was super crispy. The spicy rice cakes were way better than I expected — especially since I don’t usually like rice cakes.

The only thing keeping this from a 5-star review is that it came with no radish, no dipping sauce, nothing on the side.

For $14 for a small order, I’d expect at least some radish, I’d also give up a few pieces of chicken for radish.

Also, it’s definitely more of a take-out spot — the covered patio is nice but not heated, therefore I ate my food in the car since it was cold.

Overall though, really solid food and an easy 4-star meal.“

“The spicy chicken biscuit omg toooooo die for so my husband and I saw many people entering this spot plus it was our first time. We heard mac and cheese, greens, and fried chicken. So we got a bucket of mixed chicken, two sides of Mac and cheese, and some collard greens (they make them with black eyed peas and tomatoes; totally different from any kind of greens I ever had and I definitely was left craving more. Nice little spot and such friendly people. Heading back very soon“

“Food is always great but its been about 7 times that I have went and the fried chicken has run out, and it takes 15-20 minutes for it to cook. I feel like they need to better manage the timing. Once they see that the chicken on display is half gone, they should already start frying a new batch instead of waiting for the last min where there's less than 10 pieces for them to now start frying the new batch. Also they have a limit on breast they fried in each batch. So if the few pieces are gone, you will now have to wait for the new batch to fry and that can take over 45 mins, especially if they are not ready to fry a batch. Other than that, the food is great and the staff are also very friendly.“

Initially, I was thinking about going to a certain Filipino fried chicken chain, but after checking the ratings, Pollo Camino came out on top. They’ve recently opened a new branch near Penn Station, but I ended up visiting their 8th Ave location instead — a small, single-storefront shop with a simple interior.

I ordered the fried chicken set for $9.99, which came with two pieces of chicken, a piece of bread, one side, and a drink for an extra $1.
• Drink: I went with their Horchata, made with peanuts and vanilla ,milk, without the cinnamon and rice I’m used to. It had a nice aroma, refreshing, and a bit different — in a good way.
• Side: I chose yuca fries, served in large sticks. The inside was dense than potato, with a lightly crisp exterior. Personally, I wasn’t a fan — I’d say skip this and go for another side.
• Fried Chicken: Lightly battered with a noticeable blend of spices and herbs. The meat was tender, while the skin wasn’t the super-crispy kind you’d get from those well-known Louisiana or Kentucky-style chains. Flavor was solid, but here’s an important tip — just like with many fried chicken places, don’t let it sit too long. Once it cools, the saltiness becomes much more pronounced.

Service gets a full 5 stars in the fast-food category — no self-service pick-up here, they bring your food right to the table.

Overall, Pollo Camino is worth trying if you’re around Penn Station. The price is fair, the chicken is flavorful, but choose your side wisely and eat it while it’s hot. Next time I’ll try a competitor for comparison, but for now, my top spot still belongs to Louisiana chain.“

The atmosphere is a little bit grungy, and you have to read some signs to figure out that you need to order out the counter. When we went on a Saturday for lunch, there was no one behind the counter and it turns out the worker was someone who I actually thought was dining at the restaurants since they were eating their hashbrowns next to everyone else. The chicken sandwich is enormous and takes up much more than the surface area of a single bun, but I liked it a lot, especially when you add the different sauces and mayo they provide.
