“Last week, my wife and I had the pleasure of dining at Il Villagio. The restaurant was highly recomended to us by my wife's coworker. We were greeted warmly and sat promptly. We had a 6:30 reservation. The service from start to finish was warm, friendly and professional. We started with a crisp tender fried calamari and the roasted beet salad. So many times calamari is a hit or miss. This was an excellent version. The beet salad was tender, earthy and sweet. The crunchy pistacios and orange vinaigrette were a nice touch. My wife ordered Chicken Millanese and I ordered Gnocchi Bolognese. Both were excellent. The chicken was crisp and tender. The arrugula was peppery with a drizzle of lemon and virgin olive oil. Great balance. The Gnocchi was a great choice as there was a chill in the air. My definition of comfort food. Recently I have notice some resturants are going with a cheaper grated cheese, not Il Villagio. The Peccorino was perfectly salty and sharp. During our meal several people came over to check on us including the owner. I told he should be very proud of his staff. This restaurant is doing a great job. The provide quality service, excellent food and a warm friendly staff. It was a 25-30 drive for us. A drive I will be doing again real soon. Thank you to all“

“Number 1 restaurant in Mahopac. I recommend stopping by and grabbing a nice bucket of beer. The buckets are ice cold and have plenty of room for beers; perfect for a nice bucket of beer. They have other stuff too, but the buckets of beer is what keeps me coming back. Get over there now and get yourself a bucket of beer.“

“The steak is one of the best in the area, and best in Putnam county for sure. The salad that accompanied the meal was large and fresh. It appears that they re-heat the items that are served with the dinner, such as the twice baked potatoes and crab cake that was on the Char Steak Oscar, however the sauce was delicious. As for the atmosphere, it is great looking restaurant with a fantastic bar, but there is an unusual smell when you enter the restaurant.“

“I love this place during the summer! Sir outdoors, stare at the water, enjoy the sun rays. I ordered non alcoholic daqueries. Very good.Parking: Such a great place the limited parking they have gets filled quick. The street parking is narrow and you can end up walking down the street a little. Well worth it“

“Awesome date night spot with amazing food and super lively vibe. Cool bar scene and main dining area has a fireplace. Our group shared a bunch of appetizers and starters (oysters and lobster cocktail). The Clam Chowder was great and refreshingly had an appropriate portion of clams. The Big Eye Tuna, which also has spicy shrimp over vegetable fried rice was incredible and cooked perfectly. No question I'll be back. Highly recommend.“

“The food was delicious, their French onion soup was the best I’ve ever had and my wife loved her salad. For dinner I had the ribeye, which had great aged flavor and my wife had the pasta special which she loved. On the negatives, the marrow bone in the soup was kind of cold so the marrow was like eating a hunk of cold butter. I ordered my steak medium rare and it was more medium, but everything was still delicious. The noise level was off the charts, it’s a busy bar and was as loud as a frat party, that was annoying.“

“Have only preferred takeout from this place Attempted once to eat inside but quickly changed my mind and ordered takeout instead (it's so close to home I'd rather eat at home. Food traveled well and tasted fresh and leaves you satisfied and amazed that food this good can be so close to home. Can't speak of service in restaurant but with take out that do well .“

“Nestled in the corner next to the DeCicco Family Market in Katonah, NY is an unexpected pleasure called the Farmhouse Tavern. The upscale feel from the rich earthy tones, period moldings, and tin ceiling all heighten ones expectations. The talented chef and personable and attentive bar tender, Nick, delivered on every level. We started with Steamed Clams bathed in an aromatic broth of garlic, chorizo, shallots, and white wine. It was so good we asked for more bread and made certain little was left behind. For our entrees, I chose Faroe Island Salmon with a tasty dijon mustard sauce, sautéed spinach and mashed potatoes. It was a perfect compliment to the Steamed clams. My partner chose their Lump Crabment Ravioli in a Brown Butter and Sage Sauce. The flavors danced on our tongues and were beyond sublime in taste. We had no room for dessert and look forward to returning and adding that in too. They offer live music from time to time, so you may luck out big one Thursday night. Add Farmhouse Tavern to your list and sit at the bar and receive first class hospitality from Nick, a great bartender that never takes his eyes off your glass and provides heaps of hospitality on top. “Fried calamari was not good. We bought it as an appetizer and it made both of us sick the next day. It was the only food that we ate together. I recommend that you investigate why this happened. I would not serve the calamari to guests until you figure out why it made us both sick. I'm sure it happened to others, too.“

“This is my favorite go to place for an easy and relaxing dinner and drinks. The crowd is fun, the food is great, and the drinks are reasonably priced. The soups are homemade and the potato skins are great too. The photo below was an amazing Shepherd’s Pie.“

“We went tonight on Feb 26 2024 and everything was amazing! Really good. The fried green tomatoes are so good I never had something with a flavor Like that. You have to just go and see for yourselves. Because I can't explain the flavor.. I'm not doing it any justice.....The place was very clean and the staff was very helpful and Courteous. My family and me will defiantly be going back. In fact I can't wait. Actually my whole family can't wait to go back, they all enjoyed everything they ordered!!!!!“

“Tom & Jerry's in Brewster New York right across from the old Bull and the Barrel bar which was a great Club until covid took it downThank God for Tom and Jerry's it's right there you just need to walk across the street and find a nice place that has a pool table and the dartboard and some very nice choice of beers“
