“Mario’s Metro Pizza completely changed what I expected from a pizzeria. We came in for a full tasting and every single dish overdelivered. The chicken scarpariello was the standout, juicy chicken smothered in a sauce with real depth, sausage and thin cut potatoes mixed in, plated like something from a sit down Italian restaurant rather than handed over a counter. The vodka rigatoni with fresh burrata was another surprise, creamy, rich, and not something you expect to find at a pizza shop. The Philly cheesesteak pizza and hot honey pepperoni with vodka sauce were both excellent as well, and the hot honey and buffalo wings are made completely from scratch in house.

Beyond the food, the hospitality stood out. The owners, two brothers with over a decade of experience in kitchens across Westchester and New York City, took over a pizzeria that had been a neighborhood staple for decades and elevated it without losing that local feel. You can tell everything is made fresh and with real care.

I enjoyed it after taking some sauce off to give it more balance. The margarita was good with a thicker crust that had a slightly sweet taste to it. I enjoyed both slices. Good neighborhood pizza.“

He told me that my mother had wandered in after having her car bumper come completely loose on Marcus Ave. She had no phone, and was shaken up by the whole ordeal. Joe called me for her, and gave her a cup of hot tea. I went over, picked her up and got her home. Later my wife and I returned to pick up her car. “GET THE KALE CEASAR SALAD!!! I love their pizza but I go for the salad. This restaurant has such a great atmosphere and their menu is very accommodating. Everything on the menu is delicious and if you are strong enough to leave room for dessert, you will be extremely happy. Their cookie and their brownie come in a cast iron skillet and tase homemade and the ice cream and whipped cream make it even more delicious.“
