“This place is an actual gem. I stopped by on what was arguably probably their busiest day this whole year and unfortunately had to leave before I could order. I came back the next day and not only did the co-owners remember me and apologize for the long wait time, they had surveyed almost everyone in line in order to get ideas on how to improve the wait time and ordering process and it worked! Truly so impressed by this level of customer service and dedication to your business. It’s so rare to see that these days and it’s why small businesses are the heart and soul of a town. On top of that, my drink was fantastic, the place was sparkling clean with a super calming atmosphere, and all of the employees were 100% on it, even towards the end of another insanely busy day. Kudos to battling a worldwide matcha shortage, increased popularity from TikTok, and a super busy fall season. I will be back every time I’m in Beacon!“

“This beer is a must have if you are remotely close. Most unique but absolutely the most delicious beer I’ve ever tasted. Awesome location, dog friendly, and great atmosphere. Pretty sure the owner was pouring beers when we were there, and that’s awesome! So interesting hearing about the farm. If you like beer or wine there’s something here you’ll love.“

“We were looking for a new place to have lunch that wasn't the typical fast food. This place was perfect. Tons of different options for food. I had the crispy chicken sandwich. I really. Enjoyed the retro sauce and coleslaw on it. The portion was large and the price was good. It did take a little bit to be done but everything is made to order so it was hot. The tots were fantastic, super crispy and delicious. Each table has two controllers hooked up to a large choice of old school games to play while you wait. The inside is decorated in old images and consoles bringing back many good memories. Definitely a good place to stop by and grab something to eat.“

“Coffee Ready in Newburgh is amazing The coffee is always fresh and tastes great. Even when the line has 10 cars, they move super fast you’ll be out in less than 10 minutes. The service is quick, friendly, and consistent every time. Definitely one of the best spots for coffee on the go.“

The day we came they only had 4 beers and 1 cider on tap, but all were excellent. Having said that, I think they do it right - they know the sweet spot and they stick to it. The staff was very knowledgeable and super friendly and helpful.

When you drive in - it seems like you’ve pulled into someone’s backyard. The taproom is very small. It’s quaint with a large outdoor seating area under a large tent.

There was a food truck on site, which I’m thinking would be a regular feature since they don’t serve food. It was a really great brewery and rumor is that they are moving to a new, larger location.“

“Quite simply the best cider selection I've seen. I'd just missed a cider tasting (they'd sampled 70 different ciders!) but Gennaro still took the time to walk me through some amazing ciders even though they were cleaning up from the event.

Tried a bunch of amazing ciders and walked away with a few bottles of Aaron Burr (my favorite and very hard to find these days), an amazing wine-like cider from Eden, and an easy drinking rose cider from Black Diamond.

There's a great selection of unique wines and spirits, too, but I was so overwhelmed by the cider selection that I didn't really take all of it in. Did I mention they have something like a dozen taps of cider for growler fills?“

“Such an amazing afternoon at Minards with friends! We came with our 7 (combined) kids - who are 3-14 years old- And seriously, every single one of the kids had a blast, as did the parents! It’s a great set up for your kids to play while the grownups hang out nearby hand can enjoy a beverage or two. Angie and Jason were WONDERFUL hosts - which is kind of wild because my assumption is that the owners would generally oversee from some sort of ivory tower, but nope! They are right there “in it” with all the customers visiting for the day. I won’t lie- I love it and they are awesome people. My 7 year old is currently directing me to give them a 10 star review and is NOT happy that 5 is the max amount allowed. The parking lot was full of lots of jersey and Pennsylvania plates and that’s awesome- but more locals need to come spend a day here because it was an awesome experience for all! Also worth noting- I know places like this can be incredibly overwhelming for kids who may be neurodiverse and not thrilled with sensory overload. If you do come and try a day hanging out here- look for Angie (Incredibly friendly, very pretty blonde - can’t miss her!) and introduce her to your little one. Her whole background is in taking care of kiddos just like yours and she’s like a sorcerer with making them feel comfortable and not overwhelmed! “Okay... first of all - I ordered for take-out and my husband is lucky this food even made it home. The car smelled so good, I wanted to pull over to eat it right there. Both the chowder and stuffed clams had big, tasty pieces of clam. I got the Mac & Cheese with garlic shrimp - there were no less than 20 pieces of roasted cloves which were sweet and delicious. The shrimp was completely deveined and tender. My husband thought the stuffed clams were a little salty, I thought they were perfect, so do what you want with that. I am verily looking forward to my next visit.“

“I recently stopped by Beacon Creamery and tried their Cookies and Cream ice cream and wow, it was really good! Super creamy, full of cookie chunks, and perfectly sweet. It had that classic flavor done just right, and you could taste the quality in every bite.

“We loved using Industrial Arts Brewing Co's private event space (The Workshop) for our Welcome Drinks event during our wedding weekend! Nina and Heather were great to work with, and the friendly team of bartenders made sure our guests had a great time. We had around 100 people in one space, used their open bar package to have beers flowing all night, and even brought board games for all to enjoy. The space was PERFECT! They even set up a nice playlist for us, a microphone for speeches, and some cornhole for fun. Anyone doing a wedding in the area, or having any type of large social gathering, should definitely check this space out!“

“I recently stopped at the Restaurant at Apple Greens rest area along the Thruway in Upstate New York. Overall, it was a very efficient and convenient stop for a quick meal and break during the trip. I grabbed breakfast at Chick-fil-A, and though it was only my second time trying it, I enjoyed the spicy chicken biscuit—it was pretty good! There’s also a Panera Bread, Burger King, Auntie Anne’s, and a souvenir/convenience store, which offers plenty of options.

The decor is pretty basic, but it’s what you’d expect from a rest stop, so no complaints there. However, the place was quite cold, which made it a bit uncomfortable. The bathrooms, on the other hand, were very clean and well-maintained, which is always appreciated when traveling.

Overall, this rest stop gets the job done and has everything you need for a quick break. I’d recommend it if you're on the Thruway and need to stop for food or a bathroom break.“
