“My wife and I have been here many times throughout the years and each time we've visited, they've expanded and improved their location in the best of ways. We even had our wedding here and I cannot stop raving about how incredible each and every staff member has been from start to finish.

And not to mention, their cider is sincerely unparalleled!

“Decided to go for dinner, simply because we never have a bad experience here, we were going for burgers, but both got ribeyes, and wings as an appetizer, wings were cooked to perfection, the ribeye was amazing, came with perfect mashed, and broccoli,carrots and green beans, that were so delicious, and to be able to outside and look at gunks while the leaves are changing, priceless, so happy to have such an amazing restraunt in my neighborhood,“

“Okay... first of all - I ordered for take-out and my husband is lucky this food even made it home. The car smelled so good, I wanted to pull over to eat it right there. Both the chowder and stuffed clams had big, tasty pieces of clam. I got the Mac & Cheese with garlic shrimp - there were no less than 20 pieces of roasted cloves which were sweet and delicious. The shrimp was completely deveined and tender. My husband thought the stuffed clams were a little salty, I thought they were perfect, so do what you want with that. I am verily looking forward to my next visit.“

“Every once in a while, you stumble across a place that just feels like yours. Obercreek is that place for me.

I’m close enough that it’s a short drive, but far enough that it still feels like an escape. My perfect summer afternoon starts with grabbing a pizza from Stone’s down the road, then wandering over here for a couple of beers while the day slows down.

The beer program is exactly what I want from a neighborhood brewery. They nail the flagship beers, sprinkle in enough thoughtfully crafted seasonal releases to keep things interesting, and never try to overwhelm you with a tap list full of gimmicks. It’s clear they care more about brewing great beer than chasing trends.

If you’ve got kids, bring them. The co-op gardens are fun to wander through, there are usually a few well-loved toys scattered around, and they’ll inevitably end up exploring, getting a little dirty, and having the kind of unstructured afternoon that’s getting harder to find.

Part of me wants to keep this place a secret, because spots like this don’t come around often. But places this good deserve to be supported.

“Such an amazing afternoon at Minards with friends! We came with our 7 (combined) kids - who are 3-14 years old- And seriously, every single one of the kids had a blast, as did the parents! It’s a great set up for your kids to play while the grownups hang out nearby hand can enjoy a beverage or two. Angie and Jason were WONDERFUL hosts - which is kind of wild because my assumption is that the owners would generally oversee from some sort of ivory tower, but nope! They are right there “in it” with all the customers visiting for the day. I won’t lie- I love it and they are awesome people. My 7 year old is currently directing me to give them a 10 star review and is NOT happy that 5 is the max amount allowed. The parking lot was full of lots of jersey and Pennsylvania plates and that’s awesome- but more locals need to come spend a day here because it was an awesome experience for all! Also worth noting- I know places like this can be incredibly overwhelming for kids who may be neurodiverse and not thrilled with sensory overload. If you do come and try a day hanging out here- look for Angie (Incredibly friendly, very pretty blonde - can’t miss her!) and introduce her to your little one. Her whole background is in taking care of kiddos just like yours and she’s like a sorcerer with making them feel comfortable and not overwhelmed! “Went above and beyond when my husband ordered me a gluten free lettuce wrapped burger. Asked him if it was a sensitivity or allergy, when he replied allergy they stopped production of all other burgers to make mine so it would have no contact trace. Not to mention their fries are always gluten free. So very grateful to be able to get safe food for my celiac disease while getting take out!“

“Prying yourself off of the main strip in New Paltz, The Parish restaurant shows that the back streets have something to offer as well.
To the left side of Main Street as you're heading out of town, right before you get to the old bridge, you'll see a little area that's called The Water Street Market. Making your way past all the various shops along the way, you will find The Parish upstairs overlooking the area. There is also a small parking lot for The Water Street Market in the very back. If you take the side roads and you're lucky, you may be able to find a parking spot there.
We started our lunch with The Hush Puppies and Gator Bites. The Hush Puppies were golden brown, crisp on the outside and tender on the inside. The Honey butter was a nice compliment, adding that smooth creaminess and making them a warm delicious treat. The Gator Bites had a crisp outside batter with a little flavor kick from some Cajun spices. The remoulade dipping sauce was a nice pairing for the bites with that texture and flavor that only Gator has.
For our main dishes we had the Jambalaya and the Parish Burger with the side salad. The Jambalaya had a little spicy warmth to bring to the mix with the chicken and Andouille Sausage doing their part for flavor. The Parish Burger with the poblano peppers, onions, and cheese was superb. The aioli really helped to bring forward and meld all the flavors together including the juices of the perfectly cooked hamburger. Each bite added to the enjoyment. The salad having been tossed in a vinaigrette rested on the same plate making a pleasant addition.
For dessert we had the Blueberry Cheesecake. It was moderate in density with just the right amount of blueberry on it. The whipped cream with the fresh blueberries and drizzle of caramel was a nice touch of added freshness.
To surmise, The Parish with its Cajun vibe is a cozy little nook away from the hustle and bustle of the main strip.

“I went on 10/22/2024 to the location on Albany Street in Poughkeepsie N.Y. Today is my mom Birthday we had a party of seven. When we arrived we were told they don't have big table for our size party. They managed to add a table. The food was a 1.5 Everyone fries were over cooked the chicken was dry not a bit of Honey was tasted on the sandwiches. Tap water warm little to barely no ice. It took over 30 minutes to receive our meals no bread sticks salad nothing offered while we waited. It was a HORRIBLE DINNER. We asked if they have any Bday specials were told No. Do you sing Happy Birthday No. Mind you we were told by the person that recommended the place said they do sing Happy Birthday. I'm starting to feel it was a racial situation. Yet we still left tips. The Family had to go find Food upon leaving. The server was great it was her second day. I wish her well“

“I booked a private event for my wife's surprise birthday party. I live in another state, so it would have been very hard to get there and plan nitty gritty details. The staff planned everything from the tent, food, and setup. This took a lot off my mind.

I really recommend this place for events big and small. The atmosphere and food can't be beat, and my wife has assured me that she has never had a nicer birthday party. Highly recommended for unorthodox surprise parties, if that's what you're looking to do.
