“"While the food was flavorful and the atmosphere was good, my experience with the owner was disappointing and raised questions about the establishment's integrity because he charged me $40.00 for hookah when it was only 20.00.“

“Stay Away!!! Just kidding, this spot is popular and rightfully so for all the right reasons. The atmosphere is bot chill and warm for lounge lizards wanting a great watering hole. The drinks are fantastic, The Monk Fashioned being my favorite, reminds me of a magical Sazerac. The food here is delicious too, been a couple times and look forward to returning again soon. Love the Sweet And Salty Grilly with Gruyère, Prosciutto, Fig Spread, Arugula on Sour Dough. The Fonduey Mac & Cheese is also a cooze fest of cheesy goodness, also the Whipped Feta with the Everything Bagel Pretzel. Always love to get the Crab Cakes. Though I’m eyeing the Skewered Thighs for next time they look like a divine dine. Fortunately we’ve gotten in without a reservation, though I’m sure it’s good to have one.“

“Gorgeous spot with amazing martinis
The place is absolutely beautiful: stylish, cozy, and with a really nice vibe. It’s the kind of place that feels perfect for a romantic date or a laid-back evening.
The music was a bit too crossover for the ambiance and my personal taste, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience.
The martinis were outstanding, easily the highlight of the night. I’d love to see a few snack options on the menu to go along with the drinks, but overall, it’s a great spot I’d definitely return to“

“Literally the best place ever. Sojourn Social is more than just a restaurant — it’s an experience. They treat you like family from the moment you walk in, always going above and beyond to make every visit special. The food is absolutely incredible and the drinks are just as tasty and fun. It’s my happy place in the UES and the first place I take anyone who visits NYC. I literally have people who request it now when they come back into town - cannot say enough good things!!!“

“When the ramen craving hits, this spot is a go-to. The broth is deep and flavorful, every bite feels comforting, and the bold flavors never let you down. What really stands out, though, is the atmosphere—it’s cozy without trying too hard, warm in a way that makes you want to linger. Perfect for a quick bowl or a slow, unhurried meal.“

“I was visiting family and we came to this restaurant, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. The overall atmosphere was comfortable yet classy. Our food was prepared and displayed perfectly and the portion sizes were just right. The owner even came over and talked to us to make sure that we were happy and that we were enjoying ourselves. Definitely would come back, I highly recommend Porta 23.“

“We came here for Restaurant Week, and we chose this location because we wanted to check out something a lil closer to Harlem where we hadn't really had the chance to explore the neighborhood.
Also they included a nice variety of cocktails with dinner, an appetizer, a main ,and a dessert. It doesn't get any better than that, all for $45 per person. I was sceptical at first but we thought that we would give it a try.
The establishment itself is very cute, I loved the black facade, and the intimate setting with the industrial lamps, leather seats, wooden beams, and the exposed brick. The hostess was prompt and friendly. We looked over the menu and chose the Old Fashioned and Golden Rush for drinks. We had the Calzonito (2 per serving, I had the sausage... Which was hard to actually see the actual sausage... I guess it was flavored in the cheese) and the Buttermilk Fried Chicken for apps (which is a large portion, great for sharing). For our mains we had the Pan Seared Sea Bass with roasted cauliflower and sauteed kale (it was well seasoned and the kale was cooked very well). For dessert we opted for the Warm Apple Crumble with oats, brown sugar and mezcal (it was warm, but would have been great with something a little creamy like evaporated milk or ice cream, we felt it just needed something to soften the dryness. We also chose the Bread pudding with sour cherries and buttermilk caramel.
The portions were huge so get there hungry. We had to get a few doggy-bags but you will definitely get a bang for your buck. Very cute spot, I loved their regular cocktail selections, I will definitely come back again!“

“Went there on a Friday night. It took a little while for us to be seated. But once we got seated, our waiter was very attentive and courteous. The food was great and so were the drinks. We had lobster spaghetti and shrimp & crab ravioli. For the drink, i had the gold digger cocktail. It's a lychee martini, ifykyk. The DJ was a vibe. They played afrobeat, R&B/hip-hop, reggae, and Spanish music. It's very loud in there, not a place for convo, but more for turning up. Definitely will be coming back.“

May 2025 Update:
Alessandro Rocky were great servers and had great hospitality
From the website:
Chef Vittorio mixes a subtle hint of traditional peasant food with his modern take on fresh, hand-selected seasonal ingredients. The warm, intimate setting of Cucina Verace’s rustic space is a wonderful backdrop to a dining experience rooted in the chef’s past. Chef Vittorio shares the skills he learned in his mother Carolina’s kitchen in Campagna to bring you a southern Italian meal that you won’t soon forget. Chef Vittorio’s frequent trips back to Italy to explore the country’s regions also help to shape the unique menu.“

“The Paninis here are out of this world. I also enjoy the Italian cookies as doing my children. I have been coming to the east side for many years as it’s near the hospital for appointments. They also make the best cappuccino in the city. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I could not say more good things about this place!❤️“

“Nice restaurant, friendly employees. Brunch hours were from 12-5 pm. I didn’t want brunch food bc I heard from others that it was just OK. I ordered the tiny special roll and was informed couldn’t get it until 5 pm due to the brunch menu times. The waitress took our order around 4:20 pm. Then she came back later to take it again-not sure why. The sushi roll was good. I also enjoyed an expressing martini. My friend ordered chicken wings , they were super super tiny. She didn’t complain about the taste though. Only street parking available. Gratuity included for a table for 2.“

“It's a cool looking place, welcoming, we sat at a high top. My wife and I shared wings, very good, quite a list of sauces! They were large and cooked nicely crispy and moist inside, also the side salad and cole slaw were very good as well. Another had a wrap which was reported as very good as well. Lots to pick from, we'd go back.“

“I went to SCRV today for the first time after like a year of wanting to go. This is a fire place in the neighborhood that I probably won't go back to because of the people that goes. Dudes be standing on the wall instead of dancing...that's to say, the ratio is pretty good.. A downside (like the first sentence wasn't one) is it closes at 1 AM at least on Fridays. Furthermore...some of the the women are scheming, trying to sell you on the next spot (spoiler: $100 bottles that really cost 30-40 max which would be fine but... They also charge cover-they don't tell you that part.) Additionally, they'll surely call you broke if you opt out of being swindled.
TLDR: Go to SGRV but not wherever else anyone tell you to go. My honest opinion.“
