“Let me start by saying the new ownership has been amazing! i work across the street and almost everyday for lunch this is where i go and the food is always a 10/10. the staff is always friendly and inviting and no matter what you are craving just know you will definitely have a great meal. if you were having second thoughts on stopping by dont, i promise you will not be disappointed! i would recommend trying their rice and beans with pernil its one of my go-to's“

It's nice to go to a place that serves well and is affordable. The atmosphere was peaceful, and the music was good, not too loud so you could still hear your waiter. You walk in, order chicharrón by weight and whatever sides you want. Make sure to grab some fresh avocado and passion fruit juice.

The entire staff speaks Spanish and I’ve personally never ordered in English here so I can’t verify the experience ordering in English. The food is so good it’s worth the language barrier.

“The food is average, the cashiers are nasty and unprofessional, and prices are clearly changed (sometimes double) based on who is ordering, with foreigners coming from the airport being taken advantage of. Was told to go in with a Spanish speaker to not get taken advantage of.... can you imagine?!?!“

“Gustitos is a place where you are welcomed no matter what. They treat you here with so much love and respect. I love coming here to eat or just to have a couple of beers. “If you're looking for some of the best Dominican food in the US, it's here - down a few steps, in this pool hall. Everything was delicious, and I absolutely loved the habichuelas (beans). The gallina was tender to the point it was falling off the bone, and the rice was fluffy and full of flavor. This is truly a place where you can taste the love.“

“The food is still delicious but the service today was definitely off. First they only made one of four orders of steak yaroa, then after waiting for another 30-45 mins we discovered that what we recieved wasn't steak but ground meat. We live in the Bronx and drove to Dyckman specifically for the steak yaroa for my birthday and was only met with disappointment. The ground meat yaroa is still very tasty but not what I went for...I will say after multiple visits back this is the first one that I've experienced this but it's not normal excusable.“

“Hole in the wall restaurant; a great find if you live, work, or gym in the area. The food was freshly made and tasted great. The only downside was the wait was long for our order (smoothies and breakfeast) and it was on the more expensive side considering the order but overall, phenomenal.“

“I’ve been visiting this restaurant since I moved to the area, and I truly have nothing but great things to say. I’ve come during different shifts, and the staff has always been kind and helpful. I usually visit at night, and Wendy is typically my server — she’s always attentive, friendly, and makes sure everything is perfect.

I actually came in looking for a specific dish that had been recommended to me, but I completely forgot the name of it. The staff member helping me was incredibly patient and helpful while we tried to figure it out, and they ended up pointing me in the right direction without making me feel awkward about it at all.

The food itself ended up being excellent. Everything looked fresh and well prepared, and the flavors matched the presentation. You could tell care went into both how the meal was made and how it was served. It had that balance of being satisfying and flavorful without feeling overly heavy.

What stood out most was how easy and pleasant the whole experience felt. Good food is important, but friendly service like that is what really makes a place memorable and makes people want to return. Definitely somewhere I’d come back to again.“

“The food here is decent but it depends what you order. The empanadas were on the smaller side and were cold. The beef one was good but the chicken one was dry. The chicken stew was good and they gave me a lot of it. The portion sizes and the way the food is cooked always varies and it’s never the same which is disappointing. For two empanadas and a chicken stew platter with rice and beans, it came out to $26, which I thought was a little expensive.“

“I’ve ordered the food from here several times and though I’ve never physically seen the place the food usually tastes the same and I enjoy that consistency. Prices are good. The 13 dollar rotisserie is cool. I like the pernil and chicken chicharron, the potato salad is a great price and you get a nice amount. Only one time out of at least a dozen times the potato salad was sour and the mayonnaise was not fresh. The following day it was not edible. Other than that I’ve always had pretty decent experience.“

“Ordered the family meal with bistec encebollado which my family loved, the white rice could have been better, there was a staple on the bottom of the rice, I am to assume they were grappling and one flew to the tin, not a big deal the family loved the food.

I ordered a mofongo de cerdo, it was not the best; the pork had rib pieces (which I have never had pork like this with mofongo) and the meat was
burnt beyond being edible, I wish the mofongo was more garlicky, the sauce was yummy but again the burnt pieces of pork was somewhat disappointing. If you are a monfingo enthusiast, please do not get your hopes up.

“So, I came here because I was craving some Dominican chicken soup. They didn't have it ready when I went but it's fine. I ended up ordering the tripe soup. The soup was quite tasty and had a generous amount of vegetables. I had no problems placing the order and found the staff very pleasant and welcoming. It probably doesn't hurt to speak decent Spanish, but honestly, if you're in New York, speaking a little Spanish is helpful. Prices were fair and service was fast. All in all, I would recommend eating here.

Parking: Parking is a little difficult here, but what can you do?“

“Honestly, this is one of the best Dominican restaurants in the city, but what really won me over was the beans. They're so good and I never really go for beans at most restaurants. Only thing that holds them back is the lack of chicken on occasion.“

And they only gave one which isn’t enough for me to enjoy my chicken with. The plantains were good as well. Some were still undercooked I wish they fried it a bit longer .
