“We tried almost all of the small plates and large dishes. They were all hits with my favorite being the pulled lamb. The atmosphere is incredible and the chef stopped by our table multiple times to ensure we were having a stellar experience.“

“After having dinner at Fasano yesterday, I found myself wondering why it didn’t feel like a “wow” experience. I think it’s because the very upscale, almost uptight atmosphere didn’t quite match the quality of the food which was good, but not exceptional. The heavy curtains didn’t help the ambiance, and at one point I noticed the music was off, which made things feel even more dreary“

“Cute coffee shop tucked away in the East Village. While the Iced Vietnamese Coffee comes pre-batched, the staff will happily adjust the sweetness for you! The drink is a lot more milk-forward, with the coffee flavor playing a background role as it wasn't intense. Drink is on the pricier side at ~$7, but I understand they use premium ingredients such as organic condensed milk?
They are laptop friendly so the limited seating gets snapped up quickly. A bit chaotic on the weekends given how small the space is but I imagine this to be a quiet retreat during off-peak hours. Also a heads up that there's no restroom!“

“Coffee Project in the East Village is a small, modern spot with a Euro-café vibe (bonus points for the no-laptop policy). Their medium-roast blend—Colombia meets Guatemala—hits a sweet spot: smooth milk-chocolate body with a caramel finish, zero bitterness, and plenty of flavor.
I ordered an almond croissant, and the staff offered to pop it in the oven. It came out crisp outside, soft and fragrant inside—no sogginess. They even let us enjoy a couple of pastries we’d picked up elsewhere at their outdoor table, all with genuine warmth.
Friendly people, thoughtful touches, and a medium roast I’d gladly order again. Perfect coffee-and-pastry stop in the neighborhood.“

“Pasta Corner is such a hidden gem!! From the superb customer service to the extremely delicious pasta dishes. I’ve recommended this place to everyone. My personal favorite is the Marsala chicken and mushrooms with added pancetta. It’s so creamy & full of flavor! You can taste that the ingredients are always fresh and the presentation never fails. Even the wait time is not long. Definitely my favorite pasta place in the city!!!“

“Featured on Binging with Babish. This is an excellent breakfast burrito, we tried both the bacon and chorizo burritos. I slightly preferred the chorizo - hints of lime, big chunks of avocado. This is a hefty meal at a very good price. Excellent service, kind and friendly staff, and perfect to take to the park“

“There were no alligators in sight, unfortunately, but the service was excellent. Emma and Lena (I think) were very welcoming. I was the first drip coffee order of the day (this was around 4pm), but they were still accommodating. Convenient location, a crisp air temperature, a carefully curated bookshop. Bread upon request. Also milk and/or cream upon request. And bathroom upon request. Good service, whether requested or not. Would recommend“

“Delicious spot for a cozy lunch. It gets packed on the weekends with long waits so I highly recommend coming in off hours or during the weekday. Vibe is coastal beach. Reminds me of the seaside beaches on Cali.
Their strawberry matcha latte was fantastic. Not super sweet for those that need a break from overly sweet drinks.
Food was good, came out really quickly. Staff was really nice and was able to accommodate our toddler with a high chair.“

“EXCELLENT Vietnamese food. Best in the neighborhood and many more unique offerings than I see at most Vietnamese restaurants. I am very appreciative to the staff at Banh for being so kind and accommodating. I placed a delivery order through Square and there was an issue due to an error on Relay (the delivery app). It was not at all the fault of the restaurant but they still resent my order at no additional cost. They are wonderful!“

“Stopped into 787 Coffee Co. and tried their Coquito Latte with rum-infused beans—absolutely incredible. I also grabbed a quesito, which was perfectly flaky and sweet, the ideal pairing with the coffee. The vibe in the shop was warm and inviting. As a puerto rican I felt like it was a home away from home 🇵🇷“

“They were playing r&b when we went which set the perfect chill vibe, and then you see the HUGE selection and know it's gonna be a great experience.
We tried a few flavors (French toast, tiramisu, strawberry, blueberry, creme brulee) and they were all tasty and definitely satisfied everyone's sweet tooth for the afternoon!
The staff was super friendly, and moved quickly!“

“Another nut free find! Also sesame free.
Large assortment of donuts from classics, to cronuts and fancy fun flavors.
Donut holes, muffins and other baked goods. Saw vegan and gluten free options in a separate display.
Wasn’t very busy when we arrived on a Thursday morning 10am. There is old school countertop sitting for you to enjoy your donuts, coffee or other breakfast meals.
They were patient while we looked over everything and decided.
For 4 donuts, 2 Poland springs, 1 bacon egg and cheese on a Kaiser there and 3 donuts, 1 muffin and 1 dozen donut holes to go it was $51!“

“Stepping into THE ELK feels like walking into a beautifully curated cabin café. The decor is earthy and intentional, with a strong local and sustainable focus that extends to the menu. It’s a great spot for a relaxed breakfast or solo afternoon, with a quiet energy and friendly staff who make you feel right at home.
I tried the oat milk latte and a chia pudding cup, both of which were delicious and clearly made with care. The menu offers wholesome, seasonal options without feeling too fussy. It’s easy to see why THE ELK has become a favorite for locals it delivers charm, consistency, and quality in every visit.“

“My top picks are the Signature Mousse Cake Lysée – the roasted Korean brown rice mousse brings a lovely nutty crunch, paired with pecan and praline, and a touch of savory cream that keeps it rich yet not heavy – and the Corn Mousse Cake, which is playful in presentation and luxuriously smooth in taste. Portions are just right for two to share, especially since both lean slightly savory.
Seating is limited with small tables; on weekdays it’s fine, but for weekends, booking ahead is a smart move. The price is on the higher side, but those two cakes are worth every bite.“

“I recently moved to the area and have been really excited to find my favorite coffee shops for work.
I was drawn into the Paper Coffee shop because of its relaxed interiors surrounded by plants.
I ordered a matcha latte which was delicious. While there is only one barista, he was very with it and churned down the line of orders.
Unfortunately there isn’t WiFi here for paying customers which was the biggest bummer. I completely understand prioritizing guests over patrons however it was still a disappointment. I’m sure management have their reasons however this change would have provided a 5 start review.
Luckily I have hotspot and can still work here for a bit, granted it’s not fast.“

“Manuela is a very cozy restaurant in Soho with a warm atmosphere, excellent service, and truly delicious food. The quality was outstanding, and the staff made us feel welcome throughout our visit.

“I recently visited this restaurant in New York and was blown away. I had the pleasure of meeting Chef Mauro, whom I first got to know at Antica Pesa – he’s incredibly talented. The restaurant itself is simple and unpretentious, but the food is absolutely superb. Every dish is full of flavor and clearly prepared with skill and passion. A must-visit for anyone who loves authentic Italian cuisine.“

“It was later that same day, between meetings and the steady hum of Midtown, when a friend and I slipped into St Kilda Coffee. A quiet refuge tucked just off 9th Avenue, the space felt like a pause button—unassuming yet deeply comforting, with an interior that leaned into simplicity rather than spectacle. Pale wood, soft lighting, and a layout that favored ease over excess—it was a kind of honesty in design that immediately set the tone.
I ordered a flat white, and though straightforward, it carried a certain clarity—smooth, balanced, with just enough strength to hold its own without overwhelming. It was the kind of cup that reminded me why simplicity, when done right, can be its own kind of sophistication.
What made the visit linger, however, was the service. Katie, who prepared and served my drink, was genuinely kind and welcoming—an energy that elevated the space in ways design alone could not. Sometimes it isn’t the coffee or even the interior that makes a café worth remembering, but the warmth of those behind the counter.
St Kilda isn’t a place that tries to dazzle; it doesn’t need to. It’s a place to exhale, to share a moment with a friend, or to find a pocket of calm before the city’s pace resumes. A reminder that, every now and then, simplicity is the most beautiful form of refinement.“

“I was looking for something for breakfast, notice it was next to my hotel, figured I would try it out.
Foods good, but EXPENSIVE! I forgot how expensive things can be in Manhattan
Loved the vibe of the place, but I felt rushed to order. Went for the experience, food is amazing no doubt-prices are just too pricey for me. Think I’ll stick with local coffee shops back home.“
