“A wonderful place with a creative menu. Very unique flavors. Try as many items as you can as each one is special. We went in a group and we were able to share and taste a variety of items. A very casual chic place, you don’t have dress up 😊. They had some original cocktails, adding a twist to the traditional ones. Definitely must visit. Be aware, you will need to make a reservation well in advance. They are popular and hard to get in.“

“Delicious authentic Indian cuisine with flavours actually doing a dhamaka - explosion of flavors as you eat it. Great service. One feedback - for such a happening restaurant the restroom is quite shoddy“

“We were in the city for 3 nights. I made reservations for the second and third nights. Left night one open. I found Saar online, it was less than a block from our hotel so we figured we'd give them a try. So glad we did. Nice place. Great, friendly service (Karim is the man!), and excellent food. I ended up cancelling the reservations I made for night 3 and we went back to Saar. Give them a try if you like Indian food. It was amazing!“

“Unusually crafted and absolutely delicious dishes, while also moderately priced. Warm and intimate setting with terrific service. Letting friends know and spreading the word. Quite special.“

“We had the chicken fingers combo and a soda. The fingers were actually biscuit-sized chunks of succulent boneless chicken with thick breading lol 'Glad we had the crispy medium dry rub with the roasted garlic dip so that the chicken didn't get soggy. I was hoping the spice would be something unique. It was basically Lawry's seasoning which I do like, however, the fries were heavily doused in this spice and mixed with the chicken batter. Due to how overwhelming it was, that one meal was enough for two ppl (and my husband has a big appetite) which came with a side of coleslaw that was ok. Great music, vibes and restaurant name. I wouldn't go out of my way to go back, but I bet it's amazing if you stopped in here while you were rolling ;)“

“Small place but serves great food! Loved the biryani. Authentic dum, unlike the pilaw versions sold in most Indian places. We tried the goat biryani, chicken curry (Dum ka Murgh), and nan. Must say, we have been trying Indian places in midtown for nearly a month - this place is the only one that we would wanna go back to!“

“Passerine is one of those places you instantly want to tell your friends about. Elevated Indian flavors, beautifully done, but never fussy. Start with the small plates—hamachi crudo, roasted cauliflower, scallion uttapam—they’re creative and seriously delicious. Mains like the Naga pork belly or slow-roasted cabbage are rich, comforting, and full of depth. The cocktails are smart, the wine list is tight, and the whole place has that cozy-but-cool vibe“

“I celebrated my birthday with my best friend, and we started with aloo tikki chaat and paneer tikka for appetizers, followed by malai kofta and garlic naan for the main course. The food was absolutely delicious, and the staff provided excellent service. Towards the end of the meal, my friend surprised me by coordinating with the restaurant staff to celebrate my birthday, making it an unforgettable experience that I will cherish for the rest of my life.“

“Cozy, intimate atmosphere. The service and presentation were wonderful. We had Tamarind Scallops and Chili Crab for appetizers. The crab was phenomenal and my favorite of all the dishes we ordered. For mains, we had Zameen Doz and Punjabi Tikhe Kebab with Malai Naan. The Dover sole was delicious and the pasanda sauce perfect for dipping the naan. The chicken was tender, juicy and so good! We were celebrating a friend’s birthday and were treated to a birthday dessert by our very attentive and kind waiter.“

“I ordered ahead and picked up my Chicken Tikka Masala Bowl for lunch, which was really quick and convenient. The bowl itself was priced pretty standard and in line with other fast casual spots nearby so I don’t mind. The food was so so flavorful and honestly amazing compared to my usual bland rotation of salads and other bowls. Great textures, protein amount, and will be adding this into my usual rotation for sure!“

“Amazing food, super flavorful and very light feeling where you don’t feel gross after eating. Service was great shoutout to Rakesh, very kind and fast server. And the fact that it is HALAL on top it, incredible. I go to a lot of Indian restaurants and this is one of best places I’ve been to.“

“Nice ambiance. Helpful service. The food can be a hit and miss type of selection. The "famous" butter chicken and chicken tandoori is ordinary. The lamb chops were excellent. The okra salad was also very good. The meat dishes were heavily coated with the same type of coating which gives them flavor but also alter the taste of the meat itself. Overall, a place to revisit soon.“

“I understand that the management and the chef are one and the same as that of Awadh, where I ate a number of times. Well, the menu is different but the quality is the same. I loved the lamb chops and the goat. Spice level was fine. Because it ws a holiday the beautifully appointed dining room was quiet, enabling good conversation. I have no idea what it will be like when all tables are filled. We were happy with the service and never felt rushed.“

“..most definitely the finest Indian cuisine I’ve tasted anywhere in my life. Menu takes some deciphering, but does not disappoint. Unique new school twists on your all time old school favorites. Chicken Tikka Masala on the menu is called (Madame Makhani), so you won’t want to miss that. The Don’s Lamb Chops, Rogan Josh, some rice and the Coconut Naan will complete your order and leave you amazed. Desert selections are also in code the menu, but the Cardamom Culfi (Handcuff) is a sort of ice cream the pairs excellently with the Gulab Jamun which is called (Masquerade Ball). This place is a must visit if you’re in Manhattan, NYC…and don’t be intimidated by the menu, the waiters are more than happy to help you crack the code.“
