“This place is so nice and the guy they had out front was awesome. Very friendly and good at making conversation that was appropriate for the situation. As soon as we walked in I could smell how good this place was going to be. The overall atmosphere was a really nice mix of casual and more upscale. Very nice seating arrangements and I loved the nice blue fake fire place. I would definitely recommend them. We also went during a time when it was not very busy about 4pm yet there were still a handful of tables full despite the unpopular time.“

“I went there for the first time today. I ordered the two medium cheese pizzas for $13.99...great price for what you get. The pizza was very good, like a 4.7 on a scale of 5. I rounded up to 5 on my star review. The dough was crispy on the bottom and a little thicker than I like, but was perfect for the amount of sauce and cheese they put on it. It held up very well. The sauce has a really nice flavor...a little sweet, something I also like. They did not hold back on the cheese...The inside was clean and the young man behind the counter was very nice. “service was spot on and, appetizers were great. two out of 4 dinners were very good. My friend had clams and linguini, The clams still had sand in them so obviously not rinsed well. The person did end up getting sick unfortunately. The atmosphere is wonderful. Hopefully this was a one off and will have to try this place again.“

I usually get their pizza special buy 2 slices and get free canned drink for $7 ( which is excellent with a lot of choices) but decided to get subs for the first time. I got Italian mix for myself and Turkey for bf. $10.99 each footlong. We usually get Mr Subb or Subway but these were as good if not better! Will definitely be getting subs there again.“

“The staff are working hard and are very polite. Props to them because today it was the definition of peak customer traffic. Tonight however showed a need for restructuring to their workflow and organisation to compensate for these peak times.

Many other reviews point out that they receive collection notifications, but it’s automatic so it doesn’t reflect the real time status.
Another point would be that the order wait times can be presented/predicted ahead via current and past sales data.

“I’ve been going to pizza king since I can remember. I started going with my daughter who is now 32 was a baby & they were on State street. I followed him to Jay & it’s been years since I been there & stopped in today. The service is always great even though they don’t speak as fluent English as myself they still understand and are very efficient. The pizza was pretty much the same as it has always been which is GREAT ( I like my pizza a lil greasy so it was perfect) & the only thing I really didn’t like is the supply area where the napkins and lids and straws are kept. It was a bit dirty. I actually cleaned it up and wiped down the soda machine. ( I managed subway long ago & it’s a habit with ocd lol) and the tables weren’t wiped down when the customers that were in there left. They had a few customers but that’s stuff you have to keep up on. This isn’t to put them down at all but things have changed since John has passed def (my prayers to his family & friends & fellow patrons he was awesome). So get back to keeping supplies filled like straws of all sizes & napkins & wipe it down & no arguments from me and keep the bathrooms clean & with toilet paper too loll I’m sure it’s really rough in this location with all the transients however. Over all a 4 out of 5 stars and pizza is still great!!!“

We savored both the sausage and broccoli rabe slice and the blackened chicken slice—it was indeed the finest pizza I have ever tasted! “I found this place in a Google search for gluten free dining. My husband has Celiac's and has to be careful when dining out. We were so grateful for all the GF choices and the dedicated GF fryer. We had the cheese sticks and they were amazing!! Our server, Steven, was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive. The prices are reasonable and the food was delicious!! We will definitely be back. We went on a whim, disregarded the suggested reservations, but were able take seats right away at the end of the bar. Best of both worlds....A little bit of patio atmosphere and dining room comfort as the temperatures began to drop. And a glimpse at the extra hard work involved this evening. Praises to Jennifer as she greeted us, offered us something to drink, and advised us if we were ordering there would be an extended wait, (a large number of parties, and parties with a large number of people, seem to have arrived all at once). She said she would rather be up front with people than to have them disappointed with a wait. The expected delay was explained to every party that entered following us It was amazing to watch the coordinated efforts of the three waitresses working as a team. There was no time for idle chit chat while disregarding the needs of customers, but there was still time for smiles and laughter. Work behind the counter was fast, deliberate, efficient and the customers had no sense of stress or overwhelm. Each interaction I overheard was friendly and attentive. Another thing that I was impressed with, especially sitting at a bar, is that with an extended wait, those who were drinking, alcoholic beverages , were not pushed or encouraged to purchase more than usual to fill the time. Therefore the environment around us remained the same. Our meals came in the time projected, (mine a crock of french onion soup and my husband, a Roadhouse burger with onion rings.) The sauce is on the sweet side and although I personally prefer a savory sauce (where the garlic and oregano punches you in the face) it was still very good. The wings were delicious as well. Super meaty and crisp. Also I appreciate that the chicken was not drowning in sloppy sauce, rather just enough to provide a perfect balanced flavor. Excellent job!
