“On the advice of a friend who regularly visits Fire Island, our family of eight, including a four-year-old and an infant, had an amazing dinner experience at Albatross tonight. I was somewhat apprehensive because the restaurant's Google rating was lower than that of another restaurant where we had had a disappointing lunch the first day of our stay. So I wanted to write my five-star review as soon as possible.

Our positive experience began when we dropped by during the afternoon to get the hostess's advice on how to procure a table for eight people -- without a reservation! -- on a busy Saturday night. She told us that if we came before 6:00 they would probably be able to accommodate us.

This is exactly what happened. When we arrived we were immediately seated at a comfortable table near the window. The attentive waitstaff quickly took our drink orders and, shortly thereafter, our meal orders.

I was worried that our small children might become difficult while we ate two courses (starters and a main course). However, our server brought our starters quickly, and the main course soon after clearing our dishes from the first course. The timing was perfect!

The food was perfect, too. I enjoyed my New England clam chowder, one of the best versions I've tasted. The table shared top-notch oysters, steamers, fried calamari, and Buffalo wings. Our mains, which included grilled fish, linguine with white clam sauce, and penne with vodka source and grilled shrimp, were uniformly excellent, with quality ingredients and preparation. For example, the grilled broccoli that accompanied my barramundi was so flavorful that it transcended the norm for this standard vegetable.

With our meal we enjoyed a bottle of white wine at a fair price.

This review may sound too favorable to be true, but it accurately describes our experience. I recommend Albatross wholeheartedly.“

“We had a very nice meal here back in October. Our server, Shannon, was outstanding and took excellent care of us. The location is fantastic, sitting right on the water and made for a very pleasant meal. We had the calamari appetizer (very good), the Sauteed Flounder, which was okay and not worth $40, and the Gourmet Burger. I thoroughly enjoyed the burger. Since we came over on our boat, we weren't drinking, but the bar area looked pretty cool. We will come back again.“

It’s the kind of spot that wins over everyone — from the preppy Williamsburg crowd to the shee-shee Hamptonites. Easygoing vibe, great food, and a bar that knows what it’s doing.

“My Husband and I stumble across this place tonight and couldn’t be happier about it! From the moment we walked through the door on a busy Saturday night at 7:00pm we walk in simply based on a great name! The hostess Deanna was lovely and welcoming we were able to sit right away! The food was absolutely amazing and so were the drinks!! But the star of the show was the staff our waitress Emily was the best we have ever had! Just the right amount of attentive that we never looked for her and always felt taking care up. The busser also did an amazing job never a dirty plate on our table. We go out alot and I can’t remember the last time a restaurant covered it all flawlessly Service drinks and food. We have already texted friend excited to bring them here! Can’t wait to come back keep up the amazing work!“

“First time there tonight for a birthday dinner. WOW is an understatement. Sat outside with a beautiful sunset view. We had the short rib special, the sea bass and the swordfish entrees and they were delicious! The mussels in white sauce to start and the (clearly) homemade peanut butter and chocolate & carrot cake desserts were phenomenal. Our waitress Jaimie was the BEST-so sweet and welcoming-all of her recommendations from cocktails to entrees to dessert were spot on. We can’t wait to come back!“

“BEST TACOS ON THE NORTH SHORE. We stumbled into Ditch solely by chance and we are so happy we did. It’s a breath of fresh air for a rather stale Main Street in PJ. Very beachy vibes, feels more south shore LI than snobby north shore which is probably why I love it so much. The menu has a little bit of everything and everything we saw coming out of the kitchen looked amazing. We ordered tacos, five different tacos so we could try a bit of everything. From the perfect corn tortilla to the pineapple toppings, everything was fresh and delicious. The owner Tracy came over to welcome us to his new spot and express his gratitude for giving the new spot a chance. Our server Brennan was working a busy lunch shift mostly solo and he still delivered a top notch experience. Very happy with our new discovery and we can’t wait to go back!“

“Exactly what you want from a beach bar / restaurant. Great music playing, a nice breeze blowing through the open windows, and a bartender / owner knows how to mix humor and sarcasm perfectly. The drinks are delicious, the prices are reasonable, and it’s just a stones throw to a beautiful beach. The bartender went out of his way to help me find beach chairs as well. Absolutely loved this place and so happy we stopped in for lunch and a drink.“

“#weddingplanning Here is your luxury wedding venue with a million dollar View. No pun intended. Jonathan Berrios & James Hann made the planning and execution of the day so easy. And here is a secret...It was affordable. The food was incredible and plentiful. Great Chefs. Another secret...add the raw oyster station. We went with 100% out of doors and it was spectacular. Fits 100 easily. Places for shade and sun and a great gazebo for the ceremony. We can't recommend it more. We did our wedding but this could have been a 50th birthday just as easily. Another secret is bring your own acoustic player for the music. We had a friend play and it really set the mood for the day. So, The View in Oakdale is a perfect spot to start a life together, party for someone reaching a milestone or hell, just a great happy hour with friends on the water.“

“I threw a surprise 60th birthday party here over the weekend and it was wonderful. I am so glad I went with this location for the event. We had an indoor cocktail party, it was awesome. Gorgeous venue with a beautiful view. Kayla, Darlene and Vanessa worked the party and they were the best! Lots of my guests gave me compliments about the staff, on how pleasant and attentive they were. It is stressful to organize an event like this and they really put me at ease and made sure that not only my guests, but also I had a good time. “My husband and I have been eating here pretty much once a week for almost 20 years. We usually get take out and create our own in home date night. By far the freshest and most delicious sushi we’ve ever had. Period. They keep the menu very clean, as opposed to other places we’ve tried where everything is caked in sauce and all just taste the same. You will not be disappointed.
Favorites: Alan roll, Peter roll (as for extra sauce on the side), Cooper roll (not on the menu but was on their old menu. You can still ask for it) and the deep impact.“

Their seafood is fresh and delicious. I actually drive further to go to them and pass other seafood stores on my way, but they are definitely worth a trip. The Fried rice you can modify to eliminate things you don't want in it like corn & Peas, YAY! and this is the first restaurant where the wonton soup is not too salty, its great and you get a ton of wontons! “Okay, 25+ years eating pizza at Victorio's! Yes that's right... Victorio's has some of the best Pizza around!
Yes their pizza is awesome; perfect balance of cheese and sauce, the crust is browned nicely and just the right thickness, and spiced perfectly too.

“Awesome place, clean and customer friendly. The supermarket/restaurant has a variety of fresh fish which you can ask the staff to have them cook it for you. In my case, i asked them to cook the Dora fish which was very tasty. You can aslo ask for side dishes to go with it, i had fried plantains. The restaurant portion also had a variety of Latin dishes (Colombian, Peruvian etc) which are also fresh and so tasty. I had the black rice mixed with seafood (shrimp, calamari and pieces of fried fish)“
