“Villa Montes Review

You need to visit Villa Montes in Old Bethpage if you want delicious Italian food! Montes has awesome food, spectacular service, and a beautiful atmosphere!
The food at Montes is marvelous. The garlic squares were dripping butter and oil. They were very flavorful and crispy. They come served super hot and fresh. The cheese pizza was cheesy and the crust was toasty and crunchy. The chicken fingers were perfectly cooked. The bread crumbs were crispy and they came served with ketchup. The sugar knots were sweet, sugary, and cinnamony!
The service at Montes was fast and friendly. The food came out quickly and they always had more food waiting for anyone who wanted more. The staff greeted us with smiles.
The atmosphere was lovely. The restaurant was clean and spacious. One side was counter service and the other side was sit down service. They had pretty artwork on the walls and dim lighting. There was a TV playing a cooking show on the wall. There was a mix of booths and tables. The bathrooms were clean and well stocked. There was Italian music playing softly.
We think you should definitely visit Montes in Old Bethpage for a great dining experience!“

“My wife and I are pizza fanatics specifically Neapolitan style. A hybrid gas, wood fire grill that makes a near perfect pie. We split a Margherita and Mushroom pie.

The Cesar salad was great, a touch of lemon zest and crispy lettuce.

The meatballs were high quality and this is coming from a self proclaimed meatball master.

I highly recommend the burrata appetizer; our other dishes were great too but came from the specials menu so you may not be able to get them consistently. Soft shell crabs, veal osso buco... but I think anything you get there will be fresh and of the highest quality. Good wine list too. If we ever find ourselves in the neighborhood again we will make a point of returning to Franina.“

“We moved off Long Island over 8 years ago and always loved la Parma when we lived here even though it was an hour drive for us to enjoy the amazing food. This time when we came up to visit for Christmas we knew we had to get there for a great dinner. I can easily say it still is one of the best places to get amazing Italian food around. The Chicken Napoli was phenomenal and there is nothing like their penne à la vodka! The drinks were great and service was top notch. We also happened to go the day after Christmas when we got lots of snow and the car valet even brushed off our car! We were so happy to not feel rushed because we were there with great friends and just really enjoying ourselves! We can’t wait to come back and visit from Georgia to have their food again!“

“Yesterday was the first time I have been to Popei’s. What a great night! From the moment we walked in the owner/chef greeted us. We sat outside in the tent with the great musician. He was very interactive, took requests. People were singing along, It’s was very enjoyable. It was very clear our waitress, Janice was extremely busy but also very thorough careful and caring. As many of my followers know, I don’t believe in one-and-done restaurant reviews. Real opinions come from returning multiple times to understand the consistency, quality, and service over time. That’s how a restaurant earns the label of being truly great.

Last night we returned to Piccolo and once again it delivered.

A warm greeting, a quick stop at the bar, running into friends for some laughs, and then a beautiful dinner with my wife in one of Huntington’s most charming dining rooms. Even with a lively crowd, the atmosphere somehow melts into the background and lets you focus on the moment and the person across the table.

Jeremy took great care of us while Jason stopped by to check in, something that always makes the experience feel personal.

We started with the wedge salad and a thoughtful complimentary tuna tartare that was bright, fresh, and beautifully balanced with avocado.

My wife chose the Orecchiette Caroline — perfectly balanced with hot & sweet sausage, broccoli rabe, tomatoes, garlic and oil.

I went with the weekly special Braised Boneless Beef Short Rib with horseradish cream, rich jus, crispy onions, vegetables and mashed potatoes — tender, flavorful and beautifully presented.

We finished with their house-made carrot cake and cappuccino, which remains one of my favorites.

Piccolo continues to deliver warm hospitality, exceptional food, and that perfect romantic neighborhood atmosphere that keeps us coming back.

“Last Sunday I hosted a 50th birthday celebration for my son. We had explored several different restaurant options and when we arrived at Mangia e Bevi on Mothers' Day we were immediately greeted by the assistant manager Debbie. She enthusiastically explained the menu options, showed how the tables would be set up and, even, introduced us to the team members who would be our servers. We were not only impressed by how beautiful the restaurant is, but how genuine and forthright Debbie was. Fast foward, our party consisted of 23 people who have not stopped talking by how delicious the food was, how attentive the service was (shout out to Carmela and Chiara), how solicitous Debbie and Manager Stacie were, how efficient the bartender, kitchen staff, hostess and every other employee were! We enjoyed the rice balls, coconut shrimp, crab cakes, baked clams, calamari, pasta, veal, chicken, salmon, cannoli, cookies, wine, beer, prosecco, and fabulous craft cocktails!!! Shall I go on?
