My husband and I started with two signature drinks...coconut Margarita and French martini. One better than the other. We shared a wedge salad which was split in the kitchen and chopped. Delicious! The New England clam chowder is like no other. It is very delicious and creamy the perfect consistency for clam chowder. Definitely the best around the Ipswich fried clams are my go to favorite. They are fried to perfection and very clean oil which makes the food very good because the oil is always clean that they cook in. The people that work at Bigelow’s are great. Always welcoming and fun to hang out with by the bar while you eat your delicious seafood, no matter what you get I highly recommend coming here if you are in the area and you love seafood, you will not get any fresher!! It was a dry rub fried chicken wing with spicy chili flakes or chili powder rubbed underneath and/or on top of the wing itself which was fried and coated to perfection I was impressed thoroughly to say the least. This was the sleeper and highlight our orders. We also ordered last but not least the chicken pad Thai which was flavorful and the ingredients were super fresh and tasty. I highly recommend this place can't say it enough five stars is a minimum! By the way and oh yes please try the Thai Iced Tea and Coconut Water for good measure to wash down your meal. This is for 40,50+ crowd!! The food at Ben's will not disappoint. We have had their soup, fried shrimp, catfish, wings and the snow crab and lobster tail broil. Everything is always fresh and well seasoned. The bartender I forgot her name but she makes great drinks. I've gone up to her to let her know how much I've enjoyed my drinks! Usually 2 is my limit due to driving but if my husband is there then a third is in order The staff are all pleasant and they are constantly cleaning and clearing your table I like that and it's not that they are rushing you no no no it's makes for a nice neat table and room for more. Loved the addition of cucumber to the drink to balance it and give it a little refreshing aspect. Food wise we just got a smattering of tacos (Luger, Tropical Lobstahhh, Birria, Al Pastor, Carne Smack Dat Asad and the Cali-Flower) just to try and sample a little of everything. First and foremost, the portions are legit - they don't skimp out so you'll be full or even have extra to take home. Taste wise, my top 3 were the Luger, Lobster and Cali-Flower. The inside seating is great for colder weather with a view... but when the weather is nice, you can't beat dining right on the water. There are tables along 2 docks to eat at. There are also seats and bar stands directly on the beach below the dock. There is also an adult area and a family friendly area! The sunsets are unbeatable if you go at the right time. They also decorate very well and the lights look beautiful! The drinks are good and the service is great with a very kind, attentive staff. The parking situation is an absolute nightmare if you don't live in the area, and the wait times can be very long during peak season. Definitely plan accordingly! If this review was based solely on food, I'd likely give my Surf & Turf meal a 3/5. It was good, but not anything special. The side of broccoli was almost completely raw. Overall, Buoy Bar is such a cool place and I'd absolutely recommend coming here for some apps and drinks and enjoying the views!“
