“This is a halal Algerian spot with very authentic food. They have sandwiches and platters and some flavorful side dishes. I had the merguez sandwich and chicken sandwich, and a couple side dishes. The Merguez was amazing, very delicious sausage type dish in a hero roll with fries inside. There's not a lot of seating space so it's a great takeout spot.“
“One of my favorite places to eat!! Truly a hidden gem!!First off, they’re halal! I feel like this has to be mentioned because it’s not really advertised.Their food is amazing!!!!!!! Their dibi lamb is mouthwateringly good. Their plantains and jollof rice was so flavorful as well. Everything is juicy and cooked to perfection. They have this amazing hot sauce as well which elevated their dishes even more. Their prices are so reasonable and their portion sizes are massive. Also, try their sorrel/bissap drink! In addition to their tasty food, their customer service is off the charts. The gentleman in the front is so friendly and accommodating. He’s great to talk to and gives great recommendations. He really has a positive energy.Again, 10/10 would recommend to anyone!!“
“All good things...must come to an end. I was a little saddened to find out the previous owners Jean-Luc and Lucette retired already. Our visits to this neighborhood gem are like going to friends' homes for dinner. We are going to really miss their smiles. It is their granddaughter Marie managing the place now. They should be very proud of how she carried on their legacy. On our recent visit, we had soup sampler (French onion soup, carrot soup, potato soup) and oysters as appetizers. All the soups were yummy good and the oysters very fresh. We had the quails and frogs legs as mains. They tasted great and good portions sizes too. My significant other especially liked the zucchini that came with the entrees. We took home our desserts (cheesecake and chocolate truffle cake) and opt for the special strawberry souffle. It is so gooood. The twilight menu also came with salad for less than $40. Specials are extra and our bill came out to around $120 before tax. It is well worth every penny. We also wanted to thank our lady server, too. She was attentive and friendly. Basically has a little "lucette" touch in her. Thank you !!“
“Too pricey for frequent visits but a great find for exotic (but not too spicy) food. Servers have great knowlege of the food and are well trained. If you don't mind the noise, it's a great find for an upscale West African restaurant.“
“Cute, small African restaurant with food on steam trays. It is also halal. The owner is very sweet and friendly. She offered me samples. I ended up getting the beef stew, jollof, and a chicken dish that I didn't remember the name of. Might have been yassa. The food wasn't that spicy although the flavor of the chicken with onions has a really strong mustard flavor. The pounded yam helps mellow out the flavor. The jollof was grainy. I enjoyed the beef stew. The food was ok, but I had better.“
