“I had an amazing experience at Don Alex! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff made me feel genuinely welcome.

The food was absolutely incredible—full of flavor and clearly made with care. The ceviche was fresh and perfectly balanced with citrus, and the lomo saltado was tender, well-seasoned, and cooked to perfection. Every dish tasted authentic and delicious.

The service was attentive without being overwhelming, and everything came out in a timely manner. It’s the kind of place you can go for a casual meal or a special night out.

“Te amo Mission Ceviche! My Boyfriend took me here for my birthday. The entire staff treated me like a King! The customer service at this restaurant is absolutely incredible! The food is a gastronomical fantasy. Incredible flavors, fresh ingredients, truly mouth-watering meals. My Boyfriend is from Peru and he says Mission Ceviche is like coming home for him. He is practically obsessed with the two ceviche dishes (Mixto y Classico). For me it is the short ribs. O-M-G I don’t think I have EVER had a meal so memorable and incredibly delicious. To be honest my words do not do the deliciousness of this meal justice. Simply put...it is oh so good. The short rib is cooked to perfection and is so tender you can eat it with a spoon. The accompanying sides are the perfect compliment. The sauce that’s used...I hope they bottle it because I would buy vats of it! The rice with choclo is sublime. The tres leches rich, creamy and absolutely decadent. The food is amazing. The interior of the restaurant is gorgeous. The music is fiyah. The location is super convenient—a half a block to the subway and Crosstown bus. What really sets Mission Ceviche apart is the incredible Maitre’d Carlos. He treats all patrons the same...from babies in strollers to celebrities. He is so incredibly kind, humble, gracious, charming, intelligent, professional and inspiring. He is passionate and proud. It is awesome to see him keep the atmosphere ebullient and festive and the food flowing. He manages it all so effortlessly. I think it is because he honestly loves his chosen career and when you’re happy and you know it “work” is pure joy. That joy Carlos gives it to all of the Mission Ceviche patrons. This was not me and my Boyfriend’s first time dining at Mission Ceviche. We are now greeted by our first names when we arrive. Carlos is there and he has the biggest smile and we know that we are in great hands and know we will eat well. Every dining experience at Mission Ceviche is amazing! Go to this restaurant...make the reservation...you will not be disappointed...trust me! Bravo Carlos and the entire Mission Ceviche staff.“

“I’m in town for a work trip and stopped into this Peruvian restaurant for lunch today. I got the $15.50 lunch special with 1/4 chicken, salad, and fries and it was absolutely delicious. I’ll eat Peruvian food any chance I get and I was not disappointed!

“I love it here! I try to go every weekend because the experience is genuinely amazing. The food is delicious, you can tell it’s made with love- I always get the Lomo saltado. “We were an early reservation, so we didnt get to partake in what looks like a very likely great vibe. We eat out more for the food anyway, vibes are secondary. That being said, we clearly over ordered, but it gave a great overview of what's coming out of the kitchen. OK, lets get into it.... we had the Soft Crab roll. Its a deep fried roll with a crab salad on top. I liked it a lot, crispy, crunchy, and creamy and salty (in a good way). We had the Wagyu roll, which was ok. We felt the beef was a little overcooked considering it was wagyu, still not bad, but a little less cook time would have made it fantastic. We also got the Octopus Ceciche, which was FANTASTIC. We literally drank all the broth... it was great. We also got the Pork Belly skewer, which was very good. Salty, spicy, crunchy and tender. EXCELLENT. We also got the Cod with Polenta, which was really really good. It was lighter than expected, but also super creamy, and quite tasty. Im usually not a fan of code because its usually fatty/oily, but this one was expertly prepared. Then we got the Head on Prawns, which we liked a lot. The broth it was served in was so delicious. That dish over some rice and I would have been happy.... To close out, we got the Cacio Y Pepe upon noodles, which, minus the green peppers, was amazing. The pepper thing is personal preference, we both dont like them, but picked out and set aside and we were able to really enjoy this dish. So different, so delicious. And lastly, the Mussels. They were really good, but we were so stuffed by the time we got to them, that we really didnt get to fully appreciate them. Service was great, and the bartender, who looked like he was having a great time, made some really great cocktails. Overall, we really enjoyed Papa San and will likely be back.“

You place your order, wait for your number to be called, and sometimes there is a wait, but the food is worth it. The service is fast-paced and straight to the point, which is pretty normal for a busy spot like this.

The dining/seating area could use a little more attention and can feel a bit rough around the edges, but everyone minds their business, and the main reason to come here is the food.
