“My wife was in the mood for some jerk chicken and decided to give this place a try and since are in the vicinity. Now we ordered jerk chicken with one side (picked the homemade rice and beans) to go for $22. While I was in the mood for boned chicken, they only serve boneless but at least it was thighs...so that's good. Let me tell you, the jerk chicken pack quite some heat...which was fine. The chicken was tender and it didn't taste as if it was reheated from a microwave. While it was not the best jerk chicken we ever had, it definitely has its own spin to it. The rice and beans were stellar and complimented this dish. All in all, we kinda expected something mediocre but glad to see that it exceeded our expectation. Based on today's visit, I would give it a 4 stars.“

“This is a great place for seemingly authentic Caribbean cuisine. The atmosphere is great with great natural lighting in the day and a nice lounge atmosphere in the evening. The food is delicious and they have many classics like mofongo and patacón. The biggest problem is the time it takes to receive the food once ordered. “100% SOLD ALL. THE. TIME. This is my go-to spot when I want to have something a little special and the price point fits within my budget. No matter the dish, it always hits the spot and I'm always pleased that I'm paying for a dish that isn't outrageous compared to other restaurants in the area that are serving similar items. I also appreciate the service - everyone is friendly ans offers great suggestions. Specials are always worth visiting again and again. GO!!“

“My nonprofit organization had a sports trivia night in their private room on their second floor. It was perfect. Equipment for the DJ already there. A projector with a screen to display the scoreboard. Service was excellent. Food was great. Atmosphere was incredible. Drinks were fantastic. Highly recommend holding events in their private room. I will have more events there.“

“I'm not sure why this location has lower ratings than the Clarendon location because the service here is markedly better! The Clarendon location takes forever to prepare meals but this Flatbush location is both efficient and reliable. I can always count on receiving my Cajun chicken rasta pasta for pick-up or Uber Eats delivery in a timely fashion. I usually get the curry goat or curry chicken roti if I'm not getting Rasta pasta. Most meals have a nice level of spice to it, which I think it nice. However, if you're spicy tolerance is super low, it might be worth it to mention it to the cashier or waiter when you place your order. Although I've never dined in at this location, it looks like it could be cozy. I'll have to try in the future.“

“I just went for my early birthday, well me and my friend experience was good. Our server was very nice and accommodating didn’t show no attitude when I asking questions. The food itself was great just a bit too oily for oxtail and the chicken could use a bit of salt but over all was very nice . The atmosphere was definitely a vibe just my personal preference I would definitely would like a bit more table decor. Otherwise 8.5/10 would come again. Wish they had cheesecake again we got 4 things and our total is 112 (including automatic gratuity and tax)“

“Patrick’s Place is a nice little date night spot. It’s super small so it can feel cramped BUT the entertainment and service completely make up for the limited space. It definitely more of an intimate setting. I didn’t have the pleasure of trying the food but the drinks were great. The rum punch was authentic and you could taste the Wray and nephew, need I say more? The Jazz players and singer were really good. I would definitely come back and try the food next time. Parking is a little difficult as it’s Harlem and on the main road so just keep that in mind. There is also a $20 pp minimum“

“Went here for dinner midweek. Food was excellent. Great apps including empanadas. The beef one was exceptional. Also had a salmon crudo app which was on special. Many specials at this place. Fish is a specialty I went with halibut which came with an awesome leek based sauce. My friend had a steak and it came with an awesome sauce too. Desert was a banana bread pudding in a sugary sauce again. This place has sauce!! Service nice and friendly quite attentive. Place is big with a nice seating area downstairs as well as a private room highly recommended go check it out.“

“I called the restaurant today on my daughter’s birthday (2/26/24) to ask for a table for 5 people including two children. I was told there’s not enough seating for everyone but they would gladly accommodate us at the event space next door. I agreed. My family arrived at around 6 and the two ladies took our order and Yvonne took a few minutes to prepare the table for us. When she led us into the room we were so delighted and astounded! The place was so beautifully decorated, and she managed it in a very short time! All the food was delicious! She made my daughter feel so special, she danced with the girls and helped cut the cake! “I had tried going to this location before and was told I needed reservations. I went today, and they had a seat. They took me to the back, through the kitchen, down these metal stairs to an outdoor seating. The outdoor tent was nice. Service was quick. We got take out and the service was really nice.I had the curry chicken which I was hoping to be cooked in a more Caribbean way, but it was still nice, spicy and the chicken portion was very decent which I was pleasantly surprised by. I had a taste of my friend's jerk fish and it was so good, sweet and spicy, but I wouldn't call it jerk. She also let me try the crab Rangoon dumplings and they were my favorite! I wish I had them hot and with the sauce provided, but they were still great.I got the matcha rum cake and there wasn't a hint of rum. I was really disappointed by this, and the size was also pretty shocking and small. At least if there was any taste of rum I would've said ok, the price is for the rum and not the size. But I felt cheated. The cake which was like a mini bundt cake was sweet and good just not for $12.The Caribbean and Asian flare wasn't really pulled off very well for me. It would've been nice if the cultures were better represented and fused in the food, but for me the food across the board leans more Asian inspired like maybe Thai. The food was fine just not what it claimed to be.“

“First time getting food from them. Honestly the first time I ordered(via Doordash) a month ago they ran out of oxtails and cancelled my order. This time I ordered Oxtails, Jerk Chicken Empanadas and Mac & Cheese via Seamless to pickup. They cancelled the jerk and Mac. Pretty disappointing.But besides that the oxtail were meaty and flavorful. The sauce tasted tomatoey which was fine. “Best doubles and aloo pie I’ve had in New York. Very fast and friendly staff… restaurant is very neat and clean and the owner Mike is very friendly and accommodating…. “I haven’t had better soul food in all of NYC. It took me a while of living nearby before going in to try it out, because the front isn’t overly flashy. But the owner pulled me over to say hi one time, and the rest is history. You can tell that the staff is like family; not in the toxic way, but in a way where everyone who comes in leaves feeling like a neighbor. I love their rotation of local black/women art, not to mention their schedule for incredible live music. This restaurant has played a huge role in making me feel at home in Brooklyn over the last 5 years, and I know I’m one of many people who feel the same. “I live across from this restaurant, I saw it since they opened it, I never tried it because I thought it was just seafood but they don't, have BBQ wings, french fries and a delicious macaroni and cheese. ? “My go-to spot for a jerk chicken patty! Authentic flavor but it is not spicy. It costs around $3 but it is packed with flavor and meat so you get your money's worth. It is better to go earlier because they do sell out of some of the patties like the jerk chicken and veggie. I went around 11:50am on a Monday and there was no line. This place typically has a line so if you are looking for a good time to go, I suggest Monday during the early afternoon. I will definitely be back because I am always curious about the food. Absolutely INCREDIBLE goat curry with buss up shut (roti) the goat was so tender and falling off the bone, the curry sauce was absolute perfection and great for dipping the roti in. The pumpkin and potato came separately to the curry which I think is genius to not mix up the flavours. The roti was cooked and torn up to perfection. Really authentic and you could tell the chef has made this for years and perfected the recipe.I will be thinking about this dish for days to come.lady who served me was an absolute angel as well, had a million things to do at once and all by herself but was attentive with great customer service skills, place was clean, good atmosphere and vibe with music playing and a bar in the middle with decent seating options for diners. 10/10 will be back“

From what I recall, pre-Covid Singh's was a lively restaurant where soca played through the speakers, a variety of Islanders would be liming and enjoying the vibes, and there was trini food and snacks galore. From Trini Chinese fried chicken, to doubles, to pone, chubby, shandy, and everything else that you'd want to enjoy. Since my first visit, I've remained loyal to Singh's.My last visit this past weekend, I didn't have the time to get over to their location, so instead I ordered on UberEats, grimacing at the $6.99 delivery fee. I placed my order at 6:30 a.m., since they open at 6 a.m. and received my order within an hour, delivered by a very polite young man. The food was packed very well - there was no spillage which I was expecting from the curry.I ordered pholourie (which came with TWO tasty tamarind sauces), 2 doubles, and one boneless chicken dhal puri roti. Everything tasted just like I remembered it to be. I packed some to take back with me to COS to extend the pleasure of the meal.
