“My best friend lives in Queens so she and I come to the Onion Tree every other Friday night. I wish this place was closer to me. I live in Yonkers. The food is superb, seasoned extraordinarily. The chicken is fresh, soft and cut into small bites. I always order chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, or chicken tikka pizza. I have never had food that I enjoyed this much and I have tried all foods all over the world. I never get tired of this place. And the food is served quickly and piping hot. They’re opening a second place in Manhattan. We’re getting closer to Yonkers!! The drinks are awesome too. Barbra and Louis work behind the bar. They’re friendly and great bartenders.“

“I came here on a wednesday night with my wife after a day of travelling and our waitress Nia was very helpful. My wife had some questions about the menu and Nia was very knowledgeable. We don't eat out often and Nia helped us understand the promotions on the menu. The drinks were strong and did not taste watered down. Overall I am very happy with this experience. “We actually never went to this location before, but had greatly enjoyed their prior second location in Port Washington. Expectaions were right on point. Food was excellent from appetizer to the main course. Maybe it's weird but I kind of respect even the small things like when a restaraunt offers to chose to serve in house brewed ice tea as opposed to something pre processed. The Brisket from todays specials list was perfect. This restaurant is 45min drive from home and well worth the trip. Thank You, we will be back.“

“We have been dining here for 30 years and its still outstanding! They have great food at great prices and its always a delicious meal. We were here on Saturday Sept 21 with my brother and sister in law. We shared everything. The octopus, tuna sashimi pizza and roasted beet salad were really good! So were the shrimp tacos and our entrees. We had drinks at the bar before dinner and it was very comfortable and friendly. The bartender was quick and very competent. This place always has great food and service at very affordable prices. They also did a wonderful job for our daughters bridal shower when we took over the restaurant on a weekend morning! They are always professional and warm and welcoming too!“

“We happened upon this gem of a restaurant after a trip to the Rye Children’s Museum. The service was outstanding!!! The food (we all had the cheesesteak, fries and specialty salad) was delicious! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming!

“I'd like to give kudos to Nick and his staff at Veranda Restaurant & Cafe. We held my daughter's bridal shower brunch for 22 people there today under the pergola. The food was excellent, and the waitstaff led by Daniel was impeccable! I highly recommend this venue.

Dietary restrictions: I'm allergic to cilantro, so they prepared guacamole specially for me without this ingredient.

The only negative is it's sometimes hard to find parking in that giant lot as it's part of a mall and a movie theater. But, they do have valet.“
