“This place has quickly become my favorite restaurant in Queens. A quick walk past the kitchen and the friendly staff on the grill upon entry and you are already excited about what’s to come.

Service is attentive and they offer you a lot of help with the menu if needed. I noticed the table next to me was sharing a bottle of ouzo. They noticed me looking and gladly offered me some. It was a great experience.

Keep in mind they can get busy on the weekends and on holidays.“

It's well-cooked, not soggy at all. I did add more salt and lime juice for more flavor. The 2nd one is croquettes filled with 3 types of cheese. The souvlaki pita is standard. I don't like how I asked for to go box and they gave me a paper box for saucy food.“

“Food is really good! Comparably priced to most of the fast casual restaurants in midtown area. Got the Piato both times, and the potatoes are great as a base. Chicken is crispy and nice, and the Bambi and Greek Salads are fire. Service is really really good too, and personally get a kick out of the door to the basement being covered by the trash can lol.

“This place is a landmark institution in Astoria and it doesn't disappoint. It is cheap and affordable with a high quality. People still line up to get food from here. I will have to return to try some other items than the chicken. But they were worth the trip.

Vegetarian options: The haloumi is the only "protein" that is vegetarian

She made sure that we were well taken care of in every way. All our dietary restriction were met. The Owner, Dennis was very nice and accommodating from day one. He made sure we had a great time. Everyone of our guests complimented the food, very well seasoned and flavorful. Great drinks. The venue is beautiful and clean. Great space. I absolutely recommend Laterna for big or small events. “We ordered assorted gyros, souvlaki, tacos and baklava. The staff was friendly and the service was wonderful. Over all decent and accommodating to the greek culture with a twist of spanish. Only thing I would change is to add oragano salt and pepper to the gyros and don't blend the tzatziki makes it a bit pasty in texture but flavor was 7/10. The baklava less refrigerated time and more syrup not leaving the tops so dry. Would visit again.“

“WOW!!! Best spinach pie ever! My wife spent time living in Greece and ate a spinach pie every day for lunch. She has been trying to find a similar pie for me to enjoy since I was not there. We have had spinach pies from the West coast to NYC. Here we found the best she has ever had and me as well.
