“My wife and I were there for a political function combo meeting and Christmas luncheon. This establishment is super clean, bright, and cozy. The food and wine were delicious. I had chicken parm. Was fantastic. Was batted down thin and breaded and seasoned to perfection. VERY tender, I only had to use my folk to cut. The marinara was fresh semi chunky lite delicious and perfect. The fresh bread came in handy to clean up my plate. My wife has a fresh pasta marinara dish and NO complaints there. The waiter and waitress were professional, non obtrusive, thoughtful and caring about their service to us. Thank you iL Portico for having us and making us feel welcomed! Merry Christmas! “My experience at The Oak House is outstanding!! I've been there 4 times with my family especially on my birthday. We sometimes order spinach dip or chips and guacamole for appitizers and I usually order a cheeseburger and french fries for dinner. For dessert, we share an ice cream sundae at the table. Bottom line, The Oak House is a great restaurant to enjoy dinner with your family and friends.“

“Place is a hidden treasure. Food is outstanding! The waiters were very welcoming, funny and very attentive without rushing us before we could ask for anything they were right there. The owner is super sweet with a beautiful personality. He makes you feel welcomed from the moment you walk in. The food was phenomenal every dish was seasoned perfectly and portions were plentiful. The prices very reasonable for the service and food quality they provide. This is so far our favorite Italian cuisine restaurant I'm so glad we live close by we will be back. It was either the owner or restaurant manager that reached out to me and immediately offered solution to the tips situation that I described below. I’m very thankful That they reached out and resolved the issue.

Not what it used to be. I’ve been going to Aumm Aumm since they opened the first location in Gutenberg and I have always said the englewood location is just not the same. I have been here a few times and while it’s a very pretty place, the food is just inever as good as Guttenburg and even Guttenberg has been hit or miss over the years. I went last night with my family, not only was the service awful, they already included the tip for a party of five. Our very rude waiter, never even bothered to tell us that the tip was included. My husband paid the check. I only asked him the total and thought the amount seemed kind of high for what we ate. when I looked at the check when I got home, I realized the tip had already been included. So the very rude waiter thinks he is deserving of a 40% tip Never bothering to tell us it was included and he walked away with 84.00 tip on a 200.00 check? In general, the food was not great and definitely not as good as it used to be. It’s such a shame because this truly was one of the more authentic Italian places .“

The calamari was made fresh not frozen. The place was full but not packed. The bar is where we ate so there was no room for others to hangout to drink. Seating was close to each other like the city but it was pretty Firenze otherwise.“

We have had 5 outstanding experiences at this new French establishment... everything is delicious --duck confit salad to foi gras to chicken liver pate` to roasted beet salad to salmon tartare... the steak frites and hamburger are the BEST around!  The menu changes and reflects the great care that goes into each dish. The sides are also fantastic!  Brussels, broccoli, and macaroni gratines, the fries in duck fat are INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!  Wine selection, too, is excellent. Overall, this place is spectacular --decor is gorgeous and immaculate and service is equal to the best NYC attentiveness... Owner Jonathan is so charming and a true professional with an amazing pedigree in the restaurant biz. They now have a brunch menu that looks fantastic!  Tuesday night is a special martini and burger night!  Absolutely LOVE this place!“

Service was solid and friendly. You can eat at the bar and a few tables in the front, which I recommend doing, as the back room is a bit claustrophobic. They really need to update the prices on their menu in Google Maps, however, as they have doubled.“

“The value was good since it was during restaurant week. We got seated quickly so that was nice but the time it took for someone to come to us, to ask what we wanted to drink, to get the drink etc etc was abnormally long for it not being that busy. The appetizer (ahi tuna) was very good! I highly recommend that! My biggest disappointment, ironically being a steakhouse, was the steak! Two orders were medium rare and it came out more rare but it was fine for us... my boyfriend ordered his medium well (shocking since he normally orders it well) got it so rare it was practically black and blue. He was embarrassed to say anything (he totally should've ) but for a steakhouse I was shocked how drastically off the steak temp was done. As far an ambience goes it was clean and very old school elegant as opposed to Morton's that's classy but way more modern.“

“My niece wanted a specialized ice coffee from this location. She claims that it's delicious. I'm am simply and wanted just black coffee. The service staff need customer service training. You are told that you need to get your own sugar. napkins need to be requested.“

“Tarry Tavern for dinner: Mom had Seared maine sea scallops with local corn and leek risotto and I got the roasted Hudson valley duck breast with pecan cranberry wild rice and sunchoke purée. Unreal. Mom cleaned her plate at a restaurant for the first time in ages and mine was to die for. We shared the pumpkin pecan bread pudding for dessert. “Solid stuff. The buffalo wings are exactly what you want with some good heat attached. The crab cheddar biscuits were soft and had great flavor. Really enjoyed both. No frills caesar salad did not disappoint, either.

I go to the craft shows near the train station every so often and always wondered what the best local food spot is, and I think I found it. Will be back in the future to explore the menu.“

“Excellent service. Our waitress Daniella is always professional and pleasant and on top of any requests. Food is tasty and portions were appropriate. I was disappointed that they changed the tiramisu recipe though. It was my favorite. Wouldn't deter me from coming back though. I always enjoy it.“
