“Tonight was our first visit to the Barley House. All 4 of us enjoyed our meals and desserts, found it all tasty and well prepared, the staff and service was friendly, and accoridng to my wife, its was some of best fish and chips she has had.“

“At the time of writing this review, I am completing my graduate program for mental health counseling with Pace University. In the beginning of my program, I had been searching for jobs to keep a form of income while I was also busy with classes. Lee and Joe were incredibly accommodating when hiring me and understood my school situation. They helped work my schedule around my classes so that I could have a steady form of income. When I had to begin my internship, they helped me work my schedule around that as well. Not only is the work environment very friendly, the food is wonderful as well. The freshly made bagels and muffins were always incredible. Now that I'm done with my program and moving out from the area, I certainly am going to miss my usual lunches here.

“What a hidden gem! For a pleasant dining experience in a modern American restaurant, I enthusiastically recommend Bar 141 tucked away in the ShopRite Shopping Center in Thornwood, NY. Amazing selection of lunch specials at a GREAT value, which included an alcoholic beverage! Attentive staff and a cozy, inviting atmosphere. I can’t wait to go back!

“Wanted to give a shout out to the restaurant, Freddy’s, in Pleasantville. Went with a couple of girlfriends a few weeks ago and then again with my hubby last week. Both meals were delicious. The appetizers are yummy! Most of all, though, I wanted to remark on the atmosphere. The people in charge are just delightful. Had a chance to meet the owner. He told me he named the restaurant after his grandfather ( forgive, it might have been his father). Either way I thought it was nice. He has a young family and loves what he does. They have been open for two years, but I just found them now. If you haven’t checked them out, you should soon!“

“We come here often as we are heading to rockerfeller state park preserve. The food is always good and the desserts are to die for especially being that I'm both vegan and gluten free. Everything they serve is clearly labeled as such for those who have dietary restrictions.

The only problem with the service is that the bartender also has to wait tables, so everything slows down. Prices are reasonable for Westchester, and the place has a very relaxed vibe.“

“Our waitress appeared to be in a bad mood, not welcoming at all. The food was awful. My burger bun was hard as a rock, the bacon was hard and cold, my kids' broccoli was swimming in some weird oil like liquid, inedible, the chicken Mac& Cheese bowl tasted warm and seemed microwabable.....and we literally had to send back the wine carafe, it was BITTER!!! Needless to say a waste of money! Sorry, I wouldn't recommend, cute place but that is all.“

“Fantastic! Just how a quiet town Cafe should be. Quick and friendly service. I ordered a bacon, egg, and cheese, everything bagel. I could tell just by how they wrapped it, it was perfect. Unwrap the paper and there it is. Perfectly stacked with perfectly cooked everything! Melt cheese, tender eggs, crisp bacon, and a pillowly soft bagel with just the right amount of chew. Great selection and range overall on the menu. Would highly recommend and will be coming back!“

“A very cool place with very good burgers and sandwiches. The pizza also is amazing. I did find the prices somewhat high for what it was though.

Wheelchair accessibility: There are 3 doors just to enter. It is extremely difficult to get someone in a wheelchair into the restaurant as you need multiple people just to open and keep open the multiple doors.“

“When I left a message to determine if this venue was right for my 70th birthday, Nelson the owner forwarded to me an exceptional menu which met my goals. He and his team were very flexible as I came by numerous times checking table materials and possible table setups. The venue including Nelson, his wife Christine and famy met and exceeded all my expectations Nelson was very patient and accommodating. I had a cocktail hour inside because it was too humid outside. Nelson 's team set up the tables and they were able to deliver an exceptional dessert table. The outside was coiffured beyond beautiful! All in all we were certainly return for other functions!“

“We went specifically to hear the music, which was deafening and management wouldn't do anything about the volume. We were not happy being charged a cover charge since we arrived well before the band was due to play. We were vey pleased with the food. It had good flavor and they were accommodating with dietary changes. Food prices are reasonable.“

“The place has great food made by under paid workers. The owner tries to promote workers within but not give them a raise. This is the reason why this place is always hiring because the workers don't stay long. Some workers stick around until they find a better job. Again the food is really good but made by under paid cooks and everybody in the kitchen is under paid as well. But these people have no other choice because it's hard find them to find another job.

From meeting with Erin to guide us through my daughters Baby Sprinkle Shower until the party yesterday .. everything was seamless. Erin always stayed professional.. friendly .. caring and went above and beyond! The day of the Shower .. Kyle and Ashley were our hosts .. they were exceptional! Asked questions .. listened to requests .. professional .. friendly and made sure everything was to our satisfaction!! “The original chefs left from Hubba Hubba to open their own place and the spot is open until 5 a.m. too! But way cleaner and less sketchy. I always get their chicken cutlet sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes, provolone cheese and chilli. Their chilli is SO spicy and is so special to me because it reminds me of my childhood. I spent so many years trying to eat the chilli when I went there with my dad and sister when I was in elementary school, but it was always too hot. Finally one day I did it!! With Texas water on the side and some chilli cheese fries. Now it's my still my favorite place to get my spicy cravings. And even though my dad doesn't live here anymore, he still wants to go to Texas Chili every time he visits and he always asks me to bring him chilli when I go see him!!!“

“Place is cool I go often. Food is usually great. Staff are ok. Some seem a bit stressed or not in the mood to work. My BIGGEST issue is the Maintanence. One the decor should be upgraded but that’s a not a real deal breaker. The mess from previous customers are never cleaned up promptly. Every time I go there is at least two to three tables that need to be cleaned. Also the “clean” tables never look cleaned properly.Now I don’t know if they are understaff but restaurant presentation is VERY important. The maintenance should match the quality of food.“

“I was so happy to see that Fair Deal Cafe on Mamaroneck Avenue reopened. I was so upset when they closed. I drove by last week and saw the lights on. Sure enough, they are back and even better, under the original ownership. We just got our Italian combo fix today. One of the best in Westchester County. It's more diner style now but of course they still offer take out and delivery. Stop by and give them a try!“
