Located in an area that makes it easy to miss if you’re not looking for it, Enbu was a nice surprise to stumble upon. The first thing I noticed were the bright colors and very nice water feature, which were nice touches to the decor of the restaurant. We split a pineapple cocktail that we enjoyed, it was sweet but just strong enough to do the trick. For an appetizer, we split what I found to be my favorite food there, the pork gyoza. They were absolutely delicious, and might be my favorite gyoza/dumpling I’ve ever had. The ginger they used for my salad was a tad bit strong for my liking, but I still also enjoyed it. For our entrees, we had the hibachi steak and mixed vegetables and the salmon teriyaki and broccoli, both of which were served with rice. We would both say they were good, but arguably nothing you wouldn’t find from another Asian restaurant. In the end, for the price of everything I’d say it was still very worth the visit and would recommend to someone else looking for similar food in the area. Perhaps we’ll be back to try out some stuff off the sushi menu in the future“

Fish was super fresh, rice was made so well. My favorite piece was the otoro, and my mom's was the seabream. Pictured is the otoro and scallop because I was impressed by the scoring on the scallop. Rice to fish ratio was ON POINT - not much rice, good size piece of fish. Dessert was actually scrumptious - loved the mochi-wafer and the vanilla gelato was delicious. Definitely will come again, I think it's a great option for omakase in Queens. 10-piece omakase is only $65 per person.“

“The poke bowls at this place are SOO GOOD! I am avid poke bowl lover, but sometimes they can be hit or miss, especially when it comes to a more take out style supposed to ordering one at a restaurant. But when I tell you the Miso Salmon poke bowl I ordered was one of the best bowls I’ve ever ate I would be far from lying. They also have really good bubble tea there, and the workers are very nice. It was our go to for sushi, we loved the apps (the crispy rice and jalapeño yellowtail are fire), and loved also having options for classic Chinese food. We loved that it offered a little bit of everything. We only ever ordered takeout but the service was always top notch too. We love and miss you Aki!“

Im crazy of sashimi.
It is very impossible to find raw live fish in other states.
But, Only N.Y and L.A. does have this because they have so enough sashimi restaurants with high demand that they could import raw fishes with acceptable Transportation costs from korea by airplanes.
This is economies of scale.
Anyway,
Sashimi was excellent for me.
Service and Atmosphere doesn't matter to me.
I was so happy to enjoy live fish.
I recommend you to visit if you like to live seafood.“

Disclaimer, the gentleman sitting next to me tried the Mexican burrito I believe and he said it was bad. Very possible they are trying to do too many things and I can only speak to the poke bowl. “I’ve been to a lot of sushi spots in NYC and Long Island, but Daruma of Tokyo in Great Neck honestly surprised me in the best way. The vibe here is so warm and inviting, the staff actually pay attention to you, check in without hovering, and make you feel comfortable right away. It’s the kind of place where you can relax the second you sit down.

The sushi was unbelievably fresh. I’m picky about sashimi, and theirs tasted clean and smooth with zero fishy aftertaste. The tuna practically melts, and the salmon had that perfect buttery texture you only get from really high-quality cuts. The amaebi and ikura were standouts too, sweet, fresh, and not overly briny. You can tell they take their time with the prep because everything came out beautifully presented.

One thing that really impressed me was the pricing. For the quality you’re getting, it honestly feels like a steal. I’ve paid way more at places that didn’t even come close. This spot proves you don’t need to drop crazy money just to get genuinely good sushi.

It’s definitely a place I’d bring friends or family to, especially people who appreciate authentic Japanese flavors without any pretension. And yes the claw machines in the back are such a cute touch. We ended up playing after dinner and won a couple of toys, which just made the night even better.

If you’re in the Great Neck area, Daruma of Tokyo is absolutely worth checking out. Fresh food, great service, fair prices“
