“If you're looking for slightly elevated American Chinese food (with a couple of Thai options), this place is right up there with Red Pepper in Amherst as one of the best take-out spots in the suburbs.We don't eat meat so I can't speak to those dishes, but the General Tso Tofu and vegetarian fried rice and lo mein are all excellent. No weird yellow dye fried rice here, it's all very fresh.There is also a small discount for cash orders so I always stop at the ATM before picking up my order. “I am super picky about Italian food and my opinion rarely reflects what everyone else considers good. I don’t usually go out for Italian in the area often because of this. I happened to come for my significant other’s birthday and was pleasantly surprised.We ordered a bottle of wine, Spanish octopus, lasagna, braised short rib agnolotti and a cannoli. The octopus was amazing. We order it often when we see it on a menu elsewhere and we were kind of surprised it was offered here. The flavor/ spices were perfect and I haven’t seen a cook on octopus that well done in ages, anywhere. The short rib agnolotti was perfect. Delicious short rib flavor and mushrooms were blended for a delicious dish. There was almost like a gravy for sauce and I highly considered licking it off the plate. Now the lasagna, was a huge portion, which everyone here goes wild for, that is not my top criteria but to each their own. I was a little disappointed with it. It could have been cooked a little more to get the cheese bubbly and it wasn’t seasoned well. The red sauce was just ok. For a dish that probably sells out every night I would think they would have this down pat. The cannoli was amazing. Super crispy shell and delicious filling.The ambiance is what I’d call mom and pop chic in this local gem. They are known for home made pasta and serve a lot of American Italian traditional dishes along with some twists on the classics. Service was great and they are open Mondays which is a huge plus for this area.“
“Very few places nail every part of the experience but this place does. Food was amazing. They mill their own flower in house and you can see them do it. The baked goods are fresh and delicious. The coffee was some of the best I’ve had. The service was top shelf. They had a line on a busy Saturday morning but they moved it quickly and it never affected the quality of the service“

I'm sorry to report: "soft-serve" in the Golden State is a poor excuse for the real thing. It's got no structure--your tongue cuts right through it in about three licks. Also, I'm pretty sure their cows aren't as happy as they claim to be. So, whenever I go home for a visit, PJ Cools is my first and final stop.This custard is rich, sweet, and silky on your tongue. The texture is similar to softened butter--it melts slowly in your mouth. One cone comes complete with a thousand pleasant memories. What's more, the interior of this place is an explosion of kitsch: old-fashioned cartoons and advertisements line the walls.If you live anywhere near this magic little shack, don't take it for granted. “Dao is great for hibachi in Buffalo! It's my go to place for a hibachi dinner. They serve you so much food, you will take leftovers home for sure. With a hibachi dinner you get miso soup, salad, rice AND noodle, vegetables and a choice of meat. Usually I order the chicken. Everything is always delicious. The cooks at the hibachi grill are entertaining and serve your food quickly. The prices are also great for all of the food you get. It's always a great time!“

The orange sherbet is nicely refreshing; the chocolate, is good, but not as rich as I hoped it would be. Perhaps a dark chocolate ice cream? My serving was fine. A single scoop is reasonable priced. It is a very small ice cream shop, with only four small tables.“
“Went for the first time last week and the food was delicious. But I was especially impressed with the fact that they used coffee ice cubes in my iced coffee! I do this myself at home but have never been out to a restaurant that does it! Means as the ice cubes melt the coffee doesn't get diluted with water, because the ice cubes are just more coffee! My kids both have food allergies, and we wanted something special that they could both eat to celebrate our daughter’s birthday.
