“Service: 4/5: I did have to wait a bit longer than I was expecting since I was the only person in the drive thru AND I had a mobile order, but understand that openers in the morning can sometimes be rushing around to get things ready. Workers were kind and I could tell they were hustling.Presentation: 5/5: The food looked great, the Breakfast Baconator that I ordered actually looked like how it is normally advertised (standing tall instead of smushed together).Value: 5/5: The amount of food I got for money spent was a great deal. Normally my meal would have been around $8, but because Wendy's offers daily coupons that can really save you some money, I was able to get it for $4 instead. I feel $8 would have been overpriced for what I got (especially considering the health value of the meal), but for $4 it is definitely worth it if you need something in a pinch and are willing to order online (which is how you get most of the good deals).Overall: 5/5(Note: Because this was a drive through order I will not be reviewing the feel of the interior.)“
“I just had Larry and Grant as my servers, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Larry was quick to give me service, and was very kind, and the food came out in no time, and it tasted very good. Keep it up Larry, Grant, and the kitchen crew!“
“Our next DIS Local Spotlight takes us right into the heart of Downtown Akron to DeJuan's Downtown AkronDeJuans is located at 1 W Exchange St Ste 100 in Akron Ohio and is occupying the building that formally housed Bricco. There is also a Valet service available for $7.DeJuan’s was realized in a time of need, a need for a turkey pepperoni pizza. Founder and Owner, De’Juan Kelker was in search of a turkey pepperoni pizza and to his disbelief, local pizza shops did not offer turkey pepperoni. He was stirred to open a restaurant that would serve those with selective palates and diets and offer ALL TURKEY EVERYTHING. The unique concept made way for him to acquire the Downtown property, once frequented by many locals, and continue his personal preference of fine dining.DeJuan's is also making history with becoming Akrons very first black-owned fine-dining restaurant. To say I was excited to try this restaurant was an understatement. Let's get into it.First off the decor, aesthetic and atmosphere are breathtaking. Large glass windows look out onto the city while inside you're surrounded by brick and open industrial ceiling. The space gives vibes of upscale yet accessible without ever being pretentious. The color scheme is black and white which is just elegant enough. The space is also lit very well which I appreciate. The staff is out of this world. DeJuans may just have some of the best service in the country and that's not hyperbole. From greeting us at the front door, to our server Diamond who was world class, the experience was perfect. Our drinks never got less than half empty and Diamond gave excellent recommendations and made sure our experience was one of a kind. There was also a party of maybe 12 people behind us and he gave them the same kind of service. Very impressive. For starters we got the Turkey Chop Bites and the Southern Fried Green Tomatoes.Turkey Chop Bites are pieces of turkey breast that are cut up and then lightly battered and fried. When I tell you my mouth is STILL watering from these things. So insanely juicy and crunchy. They would be good as a Po Boy or in a wrap but they were great by themselves. The Fried Green Tomatoes were also perfectly fried and topped with a shrimp salad that was really tasty. Diamond recommended we try it with hot sauce and that was the right move. For Mains we got the NY Strip and the Turkey Burger. The steak was cooked perfectly and was seasoned so well with salt, pepper and garlic butter. It was so tender and cut like butter. The taste from the grill was also extremely flavorful. There's not much more to say because it was literally perfect. The Turkey Burger was a surprise. Given the size of the patty I expected it to be on the dry side. I was pleasantly surprised it was not dry at all. Beautifully seasoned and complimented by the garlic Aioli and the sweetness of the caramelized onions, this burger was DELICIOUS. I could definitely see myself ordering this again. For dessert I got a slice of cheese cake and figured it would just be a normal slice you get anywhere.Guys... It's not. They take a slice of delicious cheesecake and then they blow-torch the outside so it creates like this crust on the exterior. That process kind of softens the cheesecake and makes it almost melty and creamy. LORD HAVE MERCY. I almost ordered another one. So simple yet so amazing.Folks.. if you haven't noticed by now, I don't know what else to say. DeJuans lives up to the hype. It's worth every penny and more. This is one of those places that I'm truly hoping you make reservations and try as soon as you can. Not only is it important for us to support black owned businesses, but it's important we support GOOD businesses as well. Trust me. I won't steer you wrong.“
“Sunday morning, the place was very busy and there was a wait for our food, but once we got it, we enjoyed it. Ordered the French ie platter. Bacon, eggs, hash browns, and French toast. Four slices and they were thick and dripping butter. Eggs were cooked perfectly, bacon could have been just a bit crisper. Our server was excellent. Attentive and polite. She was the only one working the tables and handled a full house exceptionally well.“
“Zayne and his family are top notch. The food is always fresh, and delicious. Definitely one of our favorite places to eat. We were so excited when we found out they were bringing back one of our favorite subs from another restaurant that went out of business. We highly recommend the Houdini sub.“
“This is the spot. This is where Cheers in Akron would be filmed. The servers/tenders all love each other and love the customers. All the regulars are welcoming and loving to other less-frequent visitors. There’s plenty of decoration demonstrating this bar’s love for the community; there’s enough TVs for 3 sports games in 1 night; there’s touchtunes and immensely underrated food. The wings are a great bet. The burgers are top-notch. Personally, I like the hot Italian sausage balls. Fried sausage filled with cheese??? Come on. A+. Also, prices are still really fair. They’ve worked hard to try to keep this place afloat despite inflation. Call me a lifelong visitor.“
“This is a hidden gem. If I could give 10/10 I would. Just had the best burger of my life. Service with Erica was amazing and the food was just as good. Prices were fair and honest as well. Even with it being busy, Erica took the time and explained things like we were the only ones there. Can’t wait to go back!“
“Great place for breakfast. I had the Sunrise, eggs, sausage, home fries. This was the special. With coffee, total came to $9.07. That is a deal. Food was good and service attentive. Had my coffee refilled numerous times. One of my favorite local breakfast places.Parking: Limited parking in the back. If busy, you will have to park on the street. If very busy, this can be a block away.“
“Stopped in Arnie's for brunch this past Sunday and it was amazing! The breakfast burger was the best burger we've ever had, seriously. The croissant sandwich and potatoes were amazing and the kids loved their fruit loop pancakes. If you haven't been to Arnie's lately, I highly recommend giving it a try. New menu, new chef, same warm hospitality.“
“First time ordering from Big Star thanks to a pizza group I’m in on FB. Expansive menu including pastas, salads, burgers yes burgers, some Greek options and other Italian options. I can’t wait to order from here again. The person taking my order was super friendly. Pizza came out amazing. Ordered the New York style with all veggies and a side of garlic dipping sauce. Also Not greasy either. Crispy and balanced. So so yummy. Ordered the breaded mixed veggies as well. Delish breading. Recommend.“
“Now I can’t remember the smash burger I had but I know it had the house specialty sauce. In the first bite, the flavors of each item combined create the taste of fresh ingredients. The beef is fresh and local, as in a few miles away local. Everything that makes up that burger was local. I wish I had a picture to show but I smashed it with the quickness. The taste of that juicy burger left me separated from reality until there was nothing left. At that point I zapped back into reality so I didn’t get a pic. I’ll for sure be back again and hopefully get a picture for you all. Also, in the back, the kitchen is impressively clean. It looked as if they had just moved in that day. I arrived just before closing hours and a manager showed me the operations in the back while my burger was being made. Retro Burger has an excellent standard and that is why I’m recommending it. Give it a try and post the picture for me hahaha.Side note and off subject and NOT related to Retro Burger at all, I will always write reviews only if I feel that it is worthy of a 5 star. A negative experience with any business should always be addressed with the business owner first. An owner should always be made aware of any potential issues. Help each other out and lift each other up.“
“I decided to try this local Akron spot for lunch recently and I was really impressed. It kinda looks like a dive bar from the outside, but the inside is brighter and larger than expected. They offer a lot of drink selections, and the food menu is extensive. I tried the barbecue special that included a brisket sandwich, mac and cheese, and southern style green beans. It was delicous and satisfying and a great value for $10. My partner tried one of the jumbo burgers and gave it a solid review. Service was friendly and the St. Patrick's Day decor was festive and inviting. There's convenient parking in the back. Give this place a try!“
“What a fun night! The Fat Tuesday menu was great! The restaurant looked amazing decorated for Mardi Gras and Valentine's Day! The music and ambiance was fantastic! We loved the food! We had the boiled crawfish as an appetizer and then I had the etouffee and my husband had the dirty rice! Amazing! The cornbread that accompanied it was yummy! And my hurricane was delicious!“
“Shout out to Brandon. What a keeper! He was on top of it our whole visit Tuesday evening; he was fast, efficient, and super personable, all while being informative! He was able to list every shake flavor, and had some great food suggestions. My mom and I had the jalapeño poppers, the galley boy, and a banana shake. Would most definitely visit again. A great place to have quality food with quality service. Nicely done.“
“Not my regular Swensons but might have to drive further now. Best Swensons experience I ever had! Mariana was quick to get to my car and take my order. Mariana's service was fantastic she was super friendly and upbeat during our interactions! The food was great too! I definitely plan on coming back!“
“We have lunch often at Great Oaks Tavern and we are never disappointed. The service is always good or great (depending on how busy they are) and the food is great. They smoke their own turkey, pulled pork, chicken and more. Salads are fresh and tasty, and the prices are reasonable (as reasonable as dining can be these days. Great Oaks Tavern is a great local grill and put that I would highly recommend.“
“Nice cafe. I had the sausage and gravy with eggs. Warning - their sausage gravy is a bit spicy, so if you don't like hot, don't order. Eggs were cooked right, and the sausage gravy was loaded with meat. My wife had the French toast special with strawberries. Fresh cut strawberries would have made the dish much better instead of the strawberry compote that was served. Service was excellent, wait staff attentive. The cafe is decorated with painting of dogs, which is different.Parking: Free parking behind and on the street in front.“
“It's always a great place to eat, on this particular day we went, they were very few people working. They were working on a skeleton crew and it was pack. Never the less the gentleman that was sitting people was doing and impressive and amazing job.He was the hostess, he was the waiter, he was also the bass boys. He made it seem like there was multiple waiter's because he was able to keep up with all the tables. Obviously the kitchen staff must of been slammed as well and the bartender so I thank all the stuff for being so good at their jobs.We wanted to let this person that serve us that he was doing a great job so my wife and I wrote him a note on the ticket and left him a 60% tip.Kudos to all the staff!“
“Great, and I mean great employees. Dano himself regularly greets customers and checks on their satisfaction. Lakeside is accurate as it is nestled on the Portage Lakes waterfront. Good drink selection, and great daily specials. The burgers are great, but the buns fall apart as soon as you pick them up. Warm weather is all about the patio and picnic tables. They do have an interior bar as well and they have flat screens everywhere. They also boast the best boat docks of all of the restaurants on PLX. Dano is the most involved owner I've ever encountered. The parking lot is cramped and situated on narrow or one way streets. Can be difficult to navigate on crowded days or after dark. When you get there, park with the intention to get out easily. You'll see what I mean when you get there. Definitely a great place on a nice day or to watch a game.“
“Fish and chips were really good. Great thick cut fries. The breading had great flavor and a nice crunch. I bet the chicken sandwich is killer. The wife had the stir fry, which was pretty good too. I liked the fish better, but if I wanted something less fried it's a good option. Price is typical for a sit down restaraunt these days. Glad to see barberton getting some new food options. Hope they do well. We'll be back.“
“We had a wonderful meal at Winking Lizard in Copley. Suzanne was very nice, patient and sweet. My husband loves to talk. She was so sweet to him. We will back. The food was perfectly cooked. We will be back next time we are in town. They have ALL the beer too so.... that's fun!“
“Today they had the best food I've ever had from them, I don't normally like there fries but today there was salt on them and it changed them 100% they where the best fries I ever had I didn't even know they had salt for the fries I've been there multiple times and I've never had salted fries but today they might be my favorite fast food place now“
“Good food friendly service in the clean atmosphere. Oh what you look for in a restaurant experience or going out to eat with a friend. A great place to go and after hearing the owner story even better started from scratch just like his meals are.“
“Delectable burgers, shakes, and fries. The flavor melts in your mouth. Check out ASAP. Their delicious topping are free. And I love lots of toppings. Thanks Maggie and Bri for a heart filled lunch. Customer service was excellent and building was clean and overall 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐?“
“Best burger around. Big ol patty served on a toasted onion roll with two slices of cheese oozing out the edges. Good seasoned fries too. Wife loved her chicken strips. Kinda small, but crispy with a hint of spice. Our third venture to Pops. Had to give glowing review. Bump Fay Ray, Eat n Run, and the rest. This should be your spot!! Don't miss!“
“Great food..great service..a little more expensive, but I have never had a bad meal at the Ido!Parking: They have a parking lot, and you can park behind the building across Ido..street parking also available. Many times it is hard to find a spot!!“
“Their Onion Rings are too die for!!! Just add a little salt and wow!Their standard hamburger is amazing. I like the Jr Hamburg with everything, light on the mustard. My family finds the Jr Hamburg best because of the ratio of bun to burger. The California Fizz is a great drink,I don't live near them, rather a few hours away, so whenever it isn't too far out of our way to stop by we do. I always get extra sandwiches and onion rings for the next day, or to bring to whoever I an visiting.Everything is still great reheated. You can go microwave or oven.Kid-friendliness: You eat in your car, so you can do whatever you want in thereWheelchair accessibility: You eat in your car.“
“Stopped in because I wanted a Moo Latte, and glad I did. It's very spacious on the inside and it was nice to sit here and sip on my Moo Latte. It was also fun seeing the different types of treats available in the freezer case. Really enjoy my Moo Latte. All the ingredients were blended well. I could taste the coffee, ice cream, and caramel. Good price too for the size. The staff was very nice and helpful. I didn't have to wait too long for my order. Will visit here again soon.“
“Good mood everyone!!!!! Passed by and decided to eat at this establishment. There is free parking near the facility. When I got inside, I realized that this is a long-term and family business (you can correct me if I'm wrong). Very nice atmosphere in the middle, there are seats behind the bar from where you have a great view of a man preparing hamburgers and cheeseburgers and the pleasant smell of cooking wafts around your nose ? A very big plus is the preparation of first courses, there were 2 of them to choose from that day. Broccoli soup and onion soup (Vegetarians - just that?) I ordered broccoli soup - it was prepared from fresh products and the soup itself - was very tasty. And for the second, I took a cheeseburger with bacon, which was also very tasty!!! One bad thing is that it is not very big ? So my advice to everyone: if you like freshly prepared food and you like a small room and a cozy atmosphere with natural plants and you like to watch the process of preparing food - come here, you won't regret it. Peaceful heaven to all. PS I forgot to add - the prices are moderate. Everyone has a good mood!!!!! Was passing by and decided to eat at this establishment. “This is the place to be if you want some good barbecue or Fried Chicken catfish or whatever your home cooking that you might likeParking: It's kind of on a busy street but you can park in the front or along the sides it's got places you can sit at the tables while you order your food I'm not sure if you can eat there or not but they have window there you can order you can sit there while you wait all your food most people take it out but really good food and good service prices are great“
“This place is fantastic. Great family owned deli that serves up some mean sandwiches! Nice convenience store that meets all of my needs for energy drinks and snacks. But the best part of it is the beer and wine selection. Unbeatable in variety, from fruity to sour beers, to carrying new things like hard mountain dew, and spiked simply lemonade. I go here to explore new drinks!“
“TailGators is a really nice restaurant/ bar.It was not what we expected when walking in.It has a complete restaurant atmosphere, just with TVs showing sports.Kids will love it here, and there are plenty of choices for them and adults on the menu.We will definitely be going back!Kid-friendliness: There were a few families there while we were dining. It's quiet, and the menu has a sizable selection of kid friendly choices.Wheelchair accessibility: It is all ground level without steps.“
“Ive always heard many great things about Jimmy Bigg's food (and atmosphere). The owner, Tom (really awesome guy), came into my job today and I put a "pre-order" in for the porkchop dinner (I had it delivered once I had time to actually eat it). The porkchop was huge and fantastic! Very well seasoned, cooked perfectly, and tasted amazing. The salad was good too! Thanks Tom for the great meal!“
“Great small town diner. They have a lot of out of the box options like chicken and waffles, and paninis. It won't be the cheapest place to eat, but the quality and variety make it a good value in my opinion. Service is always good and fast, and their daily specials are a great value on top of the already decent prices.I love their burgers, fries, and onion rings. I also love that you can get breakfast served all day. Their chicken and dumpling soup is a must-try item as well. I eat here about once a week, and I can definitely recommend it to anyone passing through the area.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a wheelchair ramp, but the foyer is a little tight. You may need some help holding doors when you are maneuvering through.“
“We were eagerly greeted as soon as we walked in the door! We were asked if we wanted single or double hamburgers we were asked what we wanted on our burgers cheese or bacon? And anything else? Our food was cooked fresh handmade! Our french fries were made from scratch! We were given our drink cups refills are free! Our food was called out to us by our number when it was ready. The food was hot, tasty and very filling!Wheelchair accessibility: There is wheelchair accessibility. There's also wheelchair seating. Being disabled myself I found it quite beneficial and useful and helpful.“
“If you ever been to Akron Ohio or if you ever plan on going to Akron Ohio you have to try one of Akron's most famous and historic restaurants Bob hamburger this restaurant is amazing I have the old locations although it is change owners many times over the years it has never sacrifice tease or quality of ingredients that hamburgers are truly mouthwatering and will leave you craving another one in the front for some of the best friend from Riverhead they are my favorite kind the carnival style and cut French fries and they give you a big helping to truly appreciate Akron and understand its history I encourage everyone to be this wonderful amazing restaurant“
“I have been to a Swensons in Canton, Cincy, CBus, CLE, and Akron and I have loved each and every time I've been to one. Their food is literally one of my favorite things about Ohio and more specifically NE Ohio thanks to a large grouping of them. I moved out of state for a few years and I missed the retro vibes the drive in has and the wonderful service I always experienced. I recommend Swensons to literally anyone I can, I've been going since I was a kid.“
“Yesterday I had the best cheeseburger from McDonald's ever. Not sure if it's because it was fresh and my bun was nice and crispy or because 2 pieces of cheese must have gotten stuck together but now I want to order extra cheese on my cheeseburgers!“
