“OK. I checked this place out last year and I was sorely disappointed. But they have completely changed their tune...er, taste. The curry chicken has a nice spicy taste. The cabbage has good flavor and a unique (at least to me) different presentation (sliced up real thin). And they give HUGE portions! I'm talking "can't shut the lid" portions! Man, they have Jamaican-style plantains - they sweet style. I have another favorite Jamaican spot which I have been going to for almost twenty-five years. I had a delicious classic Paper Plane cocktail and hubby ordered a bottle of red wine. We started with frog legs as an appetizer…lightly fried, and so much garlic and lemon…perfection! I had the chicken pitta, my husband had veal parm (our server Tony suggested it as it would go great with the wine he chose). Both dishes were so plentiful we each took half home. The amount of artichokes and red peppers on my piccata was very generous, they don’t skimp on anything! We ended the night with Affogato and it was also wonderful. Bottom line is the whole experience was great! We can’t wait to be back in Cleveland and come back…don’t miss out.“

“We stopped in for lunch and it exceeded our expectations! We ordered a ham sandwich on focaccia bread with potato, broccoli and cheddar soup, and the Claudio sandwich with white bread. It was all spectacular! The story of how the shop started was also sweet to read inside the restaurant. We will definitely stop here again next time we are in the area.“

The restaurant already had a healthy number of customers but the staff hustled tables, chairs, setups, etc. and in no time, we were soon seated and making our food choices. Instead of any of the staff having an "attitude", we were treated with Simon's usual good cheer. Bravo Simon's!“

“I came here a lot between 2022 and 2025 when I lived in Cleveland. The beer has always been top notch even for Cleveland but I have to say the food has gotten much better since Eugene's first opened its kitchen inside. I used to think differntly about them but in 2026 these may be the best fries in the city. The vegan dumplings were very high quality and you can't tell that a lot of skill and intent went into the non-meag dishes. I would definitely recommend stopping“
