“The funny thing is that I have lived in Barrie for seven years but have never gone to the Bull and Barrel Pub until today. It is an old fashioned British pub with regal decor that makes people feel comfortable as soon as they step in. I decided to get their meatball soup with their fish and chips. The soup was certainly needed as we had our first snow fall of the year. It had enough meat in it and the meatballs were bite size with just enough spice in the soup. On to the main, the fish was absolutely perfect flaky and full of flavour with just enough tartar sauce and malt vinegar (the proper way to add to bring out the flavor of the fish.the chips were prepared well a bit of crunch on the outside but fluffyon the outside. The price was very reasonable. I did want to mention the service. the young lady was polite, professional and very efficient. While it was not busy , service was very prompt. I forgot to get the sticky toffee pudding though. I will definitely be back . I hear they have an old fashioned rast beef dinner on Sunday i may have to check that out .“

“We went in pretty much every Friday nights with a group of friends. The atmosphere and people working were fantastic. We continued our patronage on Sundays after playing ball, due to the service and friendly staff. Sara Lynn always dropped by to say hi and interjected her sense of humor into our relaxed conversations. I highly recommend Malones.“

“On March 24, 2025 my boyfrie… I mean Fiancée and I went in to have a celebratory drink as he had just proposed only a couple hours before, it wasn’t busy and after hearing of our engagement staff and patrons were over the moon excited, super friendly, and over all exceedingly pleasant. I have never been to a place more welcoming. drinks were fantastic, food was amazing. 10/10 WILL be back in the future. Huge thank you to the friendly staff for hyping up this newly engaged couple. Drinks were well made however, to my standards a little over priced ($14.50 for a shot of Jager and a gulp of redbull, didnt even get to keep the redbull.) I will say the crowd was fun and easygoing.
