“My fav Carribean spot in Toronto. What you need to know:
1. If you’re a pasta salad fan, this place has the best one I’ve had anywhere in the world. It is addictive. You know when you have something that’s so unique and good, and you think “this must be some sort of special family recipe”? This pasta salad is it. Whenever I go I buy extra.
2. Jerk chicken and oxtail are both fantastic. Great flavours. Ox tail pieces are well-sized, too, relative to what you sometimes get at other places. Not cheap ($16-$18 for the cup of it) but you get what you pay for, for a change.
3. Their hot sauce is probably the hottest hot sauce I’ve ever had. And I’m somebody who grew up with Koreans and Chinese folks (numbing spice iykyk), have had my fair share of real Thai, and indulge in Hot Ones sauces regularly. This is the *only* sauce that will immediately give me hiccups if I have more than a droplet. A lot of hot sauces build up on you; this one is like a punch. I recommend taking a tiny amount and spreading it out to lightly dab it. Really nice flavour when it doesn’t overwhelm.
4. Good variety of drinks to go with your meal. Get a peanut punch if you’ve never tried such a thing, imo good complement to the spice and flavours.
5. Not really a dine-in spot in terms of vibe, but there’s more than enough room if you want to, maybe about 4-6 tables that can each handle 4 or so people.
I think it’s telling that you get all manner of people coming in and many sound like devout regulars. Maybe you’ll become one, too. Enjoy! 🫡“

“Located in an industrial plaza, and easily missed. I know we have driven by many times and never knew it was there. But, the staple dish of Fried Chicken over fried rice is a must have. We also had Jerk Pork Appetizer, which was more like a meal than an appetizer. Highly recommend to anyone looking for Carribean Chinese food with generous portions and reasonable prices.“

“Was there today with my trini friend and we got doubles, veggie dhal puri, aloo pie and curry potato and channa and dhal puri. It was so good. The lady made us feel like we were back home and the food is amazing. I'll be coming back for sure. It's the Guyanese and trini ladies with the little girl that kept dropping her wallet. Lol. Thank you for the wonderful service and great food.“

Kid-friendliness: It seemed like the girl was really buzy, but she took the time to help me choose as it was my first time there, I didn't get her name.“

“I happened to be nearby and wanted a good meal, so I searched on Google and found this highly-rated restaurant. Here's a quick review:
Restaurant Style: Mainly a mix of Trinidad style and Jollibee style.
Trinidad Style: A blend of Caribbean and Indian flavors with unique spices.
Jollibee Style: Filipino flavors, typically sweet and homey.
Connection: Both influenced by immigrant cultures, with distinct spice blends.
Environment: Average
Service: Excellent
Taste: Better than average, but not extraordinary. There's a unique seasoning in the food that I can't quite describe, but it sets the flavor apart.
Overall: Satisfied. The meal cost $15 including tip, so the original price was likely around $12-13.“

“After leaving the chris brown concert I was in search for some amazing food, since I'm from ajax and there's not many good Caribbean food spots out there. I saw the reviews & pictures and had to try.
I'm SUPER picky and I left so happy I could cry. I had the fried chicken with bbq sauce and the oxtail.
Fried chicken w/bbq - THE CHICKEN WAS SUPER CRUNCHY!! I DONT KNOW HOW SHE DID THAT AND THE FLAVOUR FROM THE SAUCE WAS IMMACULATE. ITS A MUST TRY!
The oxtail was so tender and delicious. Rice and coleslaw delicious. I can't wait to go back and try the other things on the menu!“

“Found them on UBER while looking for lunch. Googled reviews first and thought I’d try. Happy I did! Such good price for tasty food. I got six wings for about $5 dollars, jerk chicken leg for $3.75 and some sides. As someone who doesn’t seem to like jerk chicken, theirs was really good. Will try again!!! 🙂“

“Tried this place for the first time yesterday with a group of people and we had a great time! The service was fast, the music was on point, and the food was delicious. We had pounded yam with egusi soup and pepper stew, whole grilled fish, jollof rice, and plantain. All of them tasted great! Can't wait to try their suya and yam porridge next time. Great job guys!“

“Best jerk chicken, and jerk pork (only Friday and Saturday), I've EVER had
That was my original review 5 years ago.
The small size was $7, large was $10.
And the big bearded Rasta man was super friendly and would jam in as much meat as he possibly could into the containers. To the point of not even properly closing. Hehehe
This place was INCREDIBLE, and felt welcoming and appreciative of my patronage.
unfortunately
Time and economics has not been kind. The Big Rasta gentleman passed away, and over the years things have changed. The welcoming ambiance slowly shifted to one of feeling like I'm putting upon the staff by being there. I once tried to order delivery during COVID lock down and the portions received barely covered bottom of the container. And just this night, I visited for the first time in months, and prices are officially $10 for small and $20 for large containers filled to the bottom lip and not a single cm over.
I know we're all in a crunch, and this IS a business. But honestly, I don't feel like it's value for my time to drive there and back, or the price asked for the portion provided.
Not even mentioning the annoyed looks from the staff for simply deigning to order food at their restaurant
Ah well, things change. I will treasure the first few years I spent coming to this place.“

“A hidden gem in Mississauga I came across by accident. The restaurant had an offer on Skip the Dishes for free delivery over $30, a late night special. I checked out the reviews and decided to give them a try. Being a Guyanese girl myself, our standards for authentic Guyanese Chinese food is very high. And we tend to already have our usual go to spots for these dishes. But boy was I surprised and in luck! Just opening the fried rice box and the smell alone, I knew that I was in for a huge treat! The special fried rice is served with crispy fried chicken on top. It was exceptional and the chicken was juicy and tender inside and very crispy on the outside. I also ordered the pepper wings. They were very well seasoned, spicy and extra crispy. I was shocked that both dishes were still piping hot and super crispy despite my home being almost 15 minutes away from the restaurant. I also ordered a few shrimp rolls, that were also very crispy and delicious! If you’re looking for the real deal authentic Guyanese Chinese food in Mississauga, definitely check them out! I’m so happy I found this spot and will be back!“

“May 25, 2025
I went at 10 pm and didn’t leave until 1 am. The dj and vibes were 100/10. The music was from reggae, afrobeats to dancehall. It was a good variety of everything. Any and everything no one couldn’t dance too. As a Indo West Indian, very much enjoyed my time. I had read the reviews prior to attending and I had read there was an entrance fee as a “regular club”; I very much appreciate to know this that I was safe; with security at the entrance. I am very much surprised there is not much marketing being done as I found this place by word of mouth. The prices as very much lower than the major restaurants/ bars when it came to alcohol. The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff was friendly. Overall great experience would recommend this place on a Saturday night and look forward to visiting in the future. Highly recommended to any and everyone who is trying to stay local and cost efficient.“

“Small restaurant with a super hospitable, approachable and friendly staff. While dining, there was nice reggae music playing in the background. Typical Jamaican restaurant menu with a few unique items and custom drinks. The food was average tasting and well presented. I was educated about the history and how the restaurant was established which was enjoyable. My overall experience was positive and I would consider returning in the future. check my video review of this restaurant.“

“I love to be there when there's an event, because it gets really busy, and that for me, is when one gets to know a great restaurant... service is still amazing...busy or not! Great place to be, for lunch, dinner or special events... please don't forget 1/2 price wings on Tuesdays...throw in some festivals too eh! I usually order some steamed broccoli on the side, to balance out the wings and festivals! ;)“

“I've been getting takeout from Mainsha Restaurant on Weston Rd for over a year. This place serves up some delicious Caribbean food with courteous service and congenial staff. The oxtail was the highlight – slightly sweet but bursting with rich flavour and tenderness. The jerk chicken was good, and the spicy beef patties had a perfectly flaky and crisp shell, filled generously. The casual cafeteria vibe of the restaurant wasn't the most inviting, but the food more than made up for it. Overall, a solid spot for great Caribbean dishes.“

“Great staff, cheap decent food. However the name says Caribbean but being from Barbados and travelled throughout the islands. I can say it is just food. Need to remove the Caribbean part. Not one thing authentic from the Caribbean. But that being said decent quality food just not what it says it is“
