“Great staff, cheap decent food. However the name says Caribbean but being from Barbados and travelled throughout the islands. I can say it is just food. Need to remove the Caribbean part. Not one thing authentic from the Caribbean.But that being said decent quality food just not what it says it is“

I have been coming here a lot for the last 3 years. I have enjoyed my food every single time. I'll review what I have ordered in those 3 years:

Jerk Chicken- the way they make it here is great. Cooked throughly, jerked well, and always available. Pairs very well with their rice and peas and oxtail gravy even if you get it boneless.

Fried Chicken- incredible. Please try it yourself. Pairs amazingly well with their rice and peas and oxtail gravy.

Ox Tail- some times boney but the staff tend to ensure you get the meatier pieces. Their gravy is extremely flavorful and has a great consistency. Incredible.

Sides- the coleslaw is fantasitc and made exactly the way I personally love slaw; not disgustingly wet. But allow me to stop you there. Get. The. Mac. Salad. Just get the macaroni salad.

Fried dumplings and beef patties- exactly what you think they are they're a great addition to whatever you choose to get.

TLDR - anything you get here is going to be satisfying. I haven't ordered a single thing I didn't like. Come and enjoy great Caribbean food at Emily's Palace.

Also, nothing here is outrageous in price. This is the most fairly priced food in the area.“

“Was there today with my trini friend and we got doubles, veggie dhal puri, aloo pie and curry potato and channa and dhal puri. It was so good. Delicious food. Grabbed the stew chicken with steamed veggies and rice and peas lunch special. Service was great and quick. Walked to a near by park to eat as the 2 tables inside were occupied. Will be back again“

“I haven’t been to Island Foods in years and I was not disappointed.

Exceptionally friendly staff and the best chicken roti, cooked to perfection. My kids devoured them in a few minutes. The roti itself has that perfect buss up shot flakey texture. The chicken breast was moist, potatoes were tender all smothered in that heavenly gravy.

Also picked up some doubles and a slice of rum cake, so I’ll gladly spend a few extra hours at the gym.

Island Foods is comfort food done right. Please consider starting a food truck!“

I went at 10 pm and didn’t leave until 1 am. The dj and vibes were 100/10. The music was from reggae, afrobeats to dancehall. It was a good variety of everything. Any and everything no one couldn’t dance too. As a Indo West Indian, very much enjoyed my time. I had read the reviews prior to attending and I had read there was an entrance fee as a “regular club”; I very much appreciate to know this that I was safe; with security at the entrance. I am very much surprised there is not much marketing being done as I found this place by word of mouth.The prices as very much lower than the major restaurants/ bars when it came to alcohol. The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff was friendly. Overall great experience would recommend this place on a Saturday night and look forward to visiting in the future. Highly recommended to any and everyone who is trying to stay local and cost efficient.“

“A hidden gem in Mississauga I came across by accident. The restaurant had an offer on Skip the Dishes for free delivery over $30, a late night special. I checked out the reviews and decided to give them a try. Being a Guyanese girl myself, our standards for authentic Guyanese Chinese food is very high. And we tend to already have our usual go to spots for these dishes. But boy was I surprised and in luck! Just opening the fried rice box and the smell alone, I knew that I was in for a huge treat! The special fried rice is served with crispy fried chicken on top. It was exceptional and the chicken was juicy and tender inside and very crispy on the outside. I also ordered the pepper wings. They were very well seasoned, spicy and extra crispy. I was shocked that both dishes were still piping hot and super crispy despite my home being almost 15 minutes away from the restaurant. I also ordered a few shrimp rolls, that were also very crispy and delicious! If you’re looking for the real deal authentic Guyanese Chinese food in Mississauga, definitely check them out! “Came here at 21:30 on Wednesday March 4 2026. The ladies here were so kind and patient with me as I asked questions about their vegetarian options and the differences between the flatbread offerings. This menu has such amazing variety and flavour profiles that I imagine even the pickiest eaters can find something they like (such as myself!). I was worried that the items I wanted to try would use too much garlic and onion As I write this review it’s 1:16 am and I don’t have any nausea so I think I’m in the clear. I ordered the paratha and Chana masala (the more tomato version) and a samosa with the tangy sauce. The total came to 26.88. I decided to eat part of the order there as it was already so late and I hadn’t eaten since 12 and having just finished work was hungry. The food was steaming hot which was amazing as I was cold on such a Canadian winter day. They were kind to not make me feel rushed at all considering the time. The environment in the restaurant was clean and calm and I know I was getting a good quality “home cooked meal”. There was great pride in her establishments menu and she explained how each item is made and prepared and how they differ. I enjoyed talking about the history of Trinidad and how Aroma has a mixture of Trinidadian , Jamaican, south and East Asian foods.

Everything is ready so if you are working in the area, you won’t spend your lunch hour waiting for your food. just make sure you get in before 2-3 or else you’ll be outta luck for wings! #1 spot in the Jane and Shoreham area.“

“The Jerk pork cutters are horrible workers with horrible attitudes. Especially the chunky fellow with the tight track pants. He grunts instead of speaking and LOADS the box up with bristle and bone and skin. He gets confrontation when you call him out. The old man is even worse. The chicken cutters on the other hand are pleasant and always load you up with extra. Is the pork cutting position at hot pot a family punishment? Because none of them are happly doing it. The fried rice was decent and good amd tasted a bit similar to tandoori chicken, but was filling.
The wings is were crispy and good, however I have had better in Toronto in terms of seasoning.

“I had such a great experience here. The customer service was amazing from the moment we walked in. The food was authentic and honestly some of the best Caribbean food I’ve had in a while.

The rice and peas were rich and perfectly seasoned. The fish was made fresh to order, which took about 20 minutes since it wasn’t on the daily menu, but it was absolutely worth the wait. It was fresh, well seasoned, and cooked perfectly.

The oxtail was outstanding — well seasoned, tender, and literally falling off the bone. It was so good it makes you want to chew the bone.

The pasta salad was perfect, and the coleslaw was just as good — fresh, creamy, and balanced everything nicely.

Overall, amazing food, authentic flavours , and excellent customer service. I will definitely be coming back.“
