“I had Amutham last night for the first time and everything was amazing. The owners are so kind and generous and the food was delicious. We had the biryani, rolls, kothu roti, beef curry, chili chicken, tandoori chicken and tried a Sri Lankan juice too. The spice was perfect, the flavours were amazing and the service was excellent.

I definitely recommend you check it out, I’ll be back for the idli and sambal this weekend.“

BAPS Shayona offers a nice variety of snacks, sweets, and savouries. Everything feels fresh and well presented.

“This is such a lucky find. I was craving samosa for the last two days and I was going to make them myself only to discover I don’t have all the spices needed. Being a rainy day February 20 2026 and not feeling the greatest I didn’t want to drive around in rush hour traffic. I came upon this place and I’m really grateful. They really do serve hot fresh home cooked food. I got three samosa and Chana masala and plain naan. Everything was made fresh by the three family members. Everything was flavourful without being too overpowering (I was worried about the Chana masala being too heavy on the onion and garlic but it’s wasn’t). The sweet sauce with the samosa was so good. I was sweating eating everything lol (I don’t think it’s every spicy it’s likely because I have been eating a lot of bland food lately) but I think that’s a good sign and just what my body needed to help me feel better. Overall my total was either $14 or $16 and it was really filling. While I was waiting there was another man there getting a large order and then another man came in and asked me if the food was good there. So we both came across this place randomly today and were trying it for the first time. If you see this I hope you also enjoyed your meal!

The minute I called NIMESH, he was so professional and detailed on the phone and connected me to ROSS.. that I signed up with him right away…AND I MADE THE RIGHT DECISION‼‼ They were there well in advance with perfect setup on the tables and the party was seamless.. The food was warm, fresh & delicious …I am still getting calls from friends about how good the food was. “If you're in the area and craving decent Indian food, this place is a great option. So far, we've had their lamb korma, chicken korma, and prawn madras, and all three have been delicious. We paired them with some jasmine rice and their paratha, and we were more than satisfied.

“I tried the chicken biryani, veg mix pakoda, and tea from Shahi Rasoi, and I was genuinely impressed. After trying food from more than 70 places across the GTA, I can confidently say this place is a hidden gem.

The prices feel like they’re from 20 years ago, but there is absolutely no compromise on taste or quality. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and felt truly homemade.

What made the experience even more special was the lady running the place. She reminded me of my mom—so warm, caring, and welcoming. The hospitality was amazing and gave me that genuine “maa ke haath ka khana” feeling that is hard to find these days.

If you’re looking for delicious home-style food at very reasonable prices, I highly recommend giving Shahi Rasoi a try. I’ll definitely be coming back soon!

I tried plenty of curry dishes, but the lamb vindaloo and butter chicken were especially outstanding. The authentic taste truly lingered on my tongue. The samosas and pakoras were also delicious. “Yesterday after golf, a few of us decided to get together for a backyard thing. Socially distanced of course. Nobody had thought to arrange for food. I called Salimah and family at Khaike Paan. And within 30 minutes they prepared a succulent meal of Mishkaki, ribs, mogo and Kari kababs. The guys all enjoyed a beautiful meal. “We had a wonderful lunch here this week. The food was absolutely spectacular, with the palak curry and the butter chicken easily being two of the best curries I've ever eaten (and I eat Indian food every week). The garlic naan was a large portion and mouth-wateringly good. The basmati race was also a very large portion and cooked to perfection.

I love the atmosphere here. It's a tastefully decorated space that's clean, welcoming and relaxing.

They've recently rebranded and I can't recommend this place highly enough. If you've been before and you weren't a fan, I highly recommend trying it under the new owner.
