“Came here for the first time based on a google search for a coffee shop and tried the Yemeni Scrambled Eggs and it came with khubz and sawawik on the side. They also have American type dishes for breakfast and lunch. I also had a gingerbread latte. Everything was so tasty and came out quickly. The staff were friendly and helpful, and while the place is hidden in a small strip mall off Outer Drive and Pelham, there was a constant flow of patrons. Only complaint is that it’s cold throughout the restaurant (winter time) from the door opening constantly. I recommend (if allowed) they get an exterior entrance enclosure so there’s a space between the outer and inner door.“

Here’s what we got:

Sun-dried tomato and basil cheese tart, warmed up with the cheese becoming gooey

Cinnamon roll croissant also warmed up, delicious

I docked 1 star for the unkind behavior of the brunette ponytailed barista. We bought an unhoused gentleman a coffee. He was with a walker and could hardly move. When the barista brought out his coffee, he asked her for cold water. She looked at him in disgust and walked away. I gave her a few mins to bring the water. When I realized she wasn’t going to, I walked over and demanded she give him the water. It was a hot, humid day. We already paid for his drink, it really didn’t need to go like that.

Besides that, all the cashiers were friendly and knowledgeable.“

“When I tell you that this place has the best coffee ive ever had, I mean it. The only one close is Winstons Coffee in Colorado. Samaya is an absolute delight! I went there twice today simply because it was so good and she was so pleasant. Im autistic and talk a lot and sometimes I know im a lot but she didnt have a line and we talked about growing up in similar places and world views and I cant begin to tell you how kind and worldy that young lady is. Im well older and when I tell you that she needs a raise, I mean it. My husband and I will be returning. We live in lansing and this very glorious and beautiful cafe is worth the drive in itself. Melvindale finally has something fancy and delicious and its Yemen Coffee at Mocha Me. I got the iced mocha latte both times. My absolute only complaint is that they dont have bigger sizes.“

“I was a bit irritated because this was my first visit and there was no menu displayed. I was also upset because they dont serve food. Also, I order a medium latte (assuming it'd be hot, but it was iced) so again irritated. However, one sip of my latte and all the irritation disapated. The coffee was OUTSTANDING. “I was visiting Detroit for a good friend’s wedding and decided to check Alba out because it was one of the places they recommended on their wedding website. The space is cool, the service was friendly and reasonably quick, the iced vanilla late I got was tasty, but the star of the show was the Egg Sandie. I can say confidently that it’s one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had. I was a little skeptical since I usually have bacon or sausage breakfast sandwiches, but I was totally blown away. It is somehow simultaneously light but still filling and is soooo flavorful. It’s a very unique sandwich that I’ll be dreaming of for a while. 100% will come back to this spot if I’m ever back in town.“

“Summertime Fresh bar was a great experience. We ordered the soba tofu wrap and the garden veggie wrap. Both were very filling, fresh, and extremely delicious. We also tried the avocado toast which was one of the best I’ve had. I’m a volume eater, and believe me, I did not leave hungry. The owner, Curtis, was very gracious and took his time to answer all of our questions and give additional information. It was money well spent and I really look forward to a return trip!“

“Obsessed. I stop in here at least twice per week for my usual vanilla latte with oat milk, which I highly recommend. The freshly made treats are delicious. The artwork is always interesting and changes frequently enough that it's always worth a trip inside even though they have a super convenient walk-up window. The staff is always friendly and helpful and my drink comes out A+ without fail.“

“This coffee wasn’t to bad. Service was pretty quick. Several pour over options. I don’t have a ton to say about it as it wasn’t an exceptional cup of coffees but it was an enjoyable coffee to start my day. Able to drink it with no problem. I didn’t have any food but lots of pastries. Nice little atmosphere on the inside. I would assume this is best shop in this area. I didn’t try any others but they did a good job.“

“I’ve been here a couple of times and I love the atmosphere and pastries, but as a fellow barista, today the customer service was poor..I politely asked if I could have my drink hot instead because it was served iced (16 oz). No fault there, I did not mention it and the young lady at the register did not ask either. But when I got my hot drink from the barista, it was a small cup.. she walked over, sat it on my table and didn’t say anything. I understand they had to redial espresso and she may have been backed up a drink or two.. but giving me a small cup felt like a statement when the iced drinks are large.. I didn’t feel like dealing with another change so I let it be. It just left a poor taste in my mouth because I was very nice and completely fine with waiting for my coffee and was not rude about asking for my drink to be hot. If anyone’s gonna be upset with anyone, reiterate to your coworker to make sure they know if the customer wants an iced or hot drink, but don’t have an attitude with me and make me feel like I inconvenienced you.. I’m paying for a drink, you are literally getting paid to do your role and responsibilities.“

“I went to this coffee shop for the first time and instantly loved the classy, clean, and local vibe of it! What was even better was that this Black-owned shop delivered in good service and outstanding quality and great varieties of coffee and teas! I had the delicious salted caramel latte!! And the best part was LITERALLY THE BEST BREAKFAST SANDWICH I have ever had at a coffee shop!! I had the turkey and cheese deluxe sandwich with their house sauce and Swiss cheese! “We went in here today me and my son and I am a very picky coffee drinker and farah took my order so kindly and got everything correct despite me being very precise she made me the best coffee and the best refresher. “If you want the worlds best coffee this is where you should go. (No seriously) Anthology Coffee is a really great place. Its has a chill vibe, covered in plants, outdoor seating, its really cool. The Coffee is amazing. They roast it right there in the cafe and get it from small farmers all over the world who don't use any pesticides or GMO's. The pastries are great and they are all gluten free and they usually have something savory on weekends (It goes fast, so be there early). The baristas are really great and its kid friendly. Anthology Coffee is wheel chair accessible, there is a lot across the street with free parking, its great for groups, really anyone. Its located on 1948 Division St in Eastern Market which is really great cause you can head over to the market after or go for a nice walk on the Diquindre Cut. My sister lives in Detroit and every time I visit we always go to Anthology Coffee, I really love going there. Anthology Coffee is an amazing place, the people there actually care about the quality of coffee and where it comes from, they don't exploit their employees or customers, and really make a difference. The Anthology Coffee family is even better than coffee itself. I would definitely recommend checking it out.“
