“In a restaurant world dressed up with disingenuous marketing JOEY Yorkdale offers you a magnificent spot outside downtown Toronto that delivers what it promises on their home page, “Our guests, new or old, are not treated just as guests, but as if they are a good friend we are catching up with.” And this was the experience for me and my two close chums who selected this spot primarily because it was the midpoint between our diverse locations. From first arriving, the hostess took the time to offer a complimentary champagne glass and inquire if our visit that day was for a special occasion. It was a reunion and she graciously followed up with pleasant comments establishing a charming mood. When the waitress came to greet us, she also took the time to find out more about the nature of our reunion and only then flawlessly delved into the menu. I understand this is common practice at luxury restaurants; however, I would contend that, although there are dining establishments that treat patrons similarly, it is not simply about what you do but, rather, how well you do it. And this is the reason I am taking the time to write this review: JOEY does it very well. Having frequented several luxury restaurants in downtown Toronto I can anecdotally share with you that there have been far too many occasions when the host and/or server left a poor impression. Whether it is conceited complacency in their brand or even our own bigotry of unrealistic expectations, there seldom is a meeting point of both food, service, and overall impression. The treatment at JOEY was so genuine that it left an indelible impression. Each interaction with the server and hostess throughout complemented our dining experience. We were then surprised with dessert on the house presented on an expansive serving plate with the words “Happy Reunion!” written in caramel. Delicious, delicious caramel. Mmmm, but I digress… Over the years I have written to restaurants far more complaints than compliments and, in retrospect, this is unfair. It takes a team and a culture to create this magic and it can be quite challenging to get it right. When it comes together as well as it did on our visit, it is the sort of joy that can accompany you throughout your day. At JOEY they seem to have captured the right formula and I look forward to returning and catching up with “good friends” that understand that going out to eat today is about so much more.“

“I was greeted as soon as I arrived at the front desk. Dilip was a great server who took my order as soon as I was ready and brought out the food in a very short time. I appreciate the quick and speedy service and overall it was a wonderful experience. Thank you!“

“On Sunday, I went to Kelsey's and had nachos and an ultimate bacon burger, both of which were delicious. We had a discount coupon from another Kelsey, but their manager still gave us a discount and free dessert. I would highly recommend this to everyone.“

“Always order from this Swiss Chalet and food and service is always consistent. I do have to say that the food tastes good in general, but the taste is 5x better when you dine-in, especially since you eat it right when it’s hot.

We got the chicken and third rack ribs, quarter chicken dinner with coleslaw, side of seasoned fries, 10 bbq wings, chicken broccoli & cheddar soup, and a shirley temple. Everything was cooked perfectly and super juicy and delicious!! We used to always get the chicken, but their other dishes are equally as good! Their chicken tenders and chicken pot pie are also amazing. Prices for drinks and desserts are super affordable as well. They have bottomless drinks which makes it even more worth getting!

Plenty of seating that’s perfect for families big and small. Service is always great at this location as well. Highly recommend!

“One of the most beautiful restaurants in town. Hogan’s is at the intersection of King city Avenue and Keel Street.
We found it on Google and chose to have lunch there after a long walk in Thornton Bales conservation area.
Right away we were blown away by the beautiful decoration of the restaurant.
It has a very cosy dining area and if you have a big party, there is a table with probably 20 seats upstairs.
We ordered their special linguine pasta, beef, bourguignon, Greek salad and their special burger. We were all quite happy with the food. The linguini had chicken and shrimp and the bourguignon was amongst the best I had tried.
The service was also great. We would probably be a bit more comfortable if we were checked on less frequently but everything else about the service was just great.
We finished with some delicious new York cheesecake and specialty teas.
Will definitely go back and strongly recommend“

You can get more than half the wait time that you get at Cheesecake Factory with way better quality food the bacon cheddar burger is phenomenal and is very juicy and tender. “Overall a good experience. Food is always outstanding. Service was a little bit lacking. Obviously it was a very busy night for them, so I'll let it slide that it took 30 minutes to bring starter salads. My issue was that we made a reservation 2 weeks in advance for 6:15. We arrived at 6:10 and were told to wait a few minutes for the table to be cleared. At 6:40 (25 mins after we arrived), a larger party than ours that came in after us and did not have a reservation was seated. I questioned the manager who was seating people and he had no idea who I was. He did apologize and give us the next table (in the bar) however. The table was a bit cramped and I was not impressed that our reservation was forgotten even after checking in, but otherwise the experience was ok. Food is always excellent which is the most important part.“

“We truly enjoyed a leisurely lunch today at Kelsey's Richmond Hill. We need to give a lot of the credit and thanks to our server, Sarah, who was always there when we needed her. She provided us with some excellent suggestions for food and drinks as well as impeccable service coming from a warm and friendly person. While my wife was thoroughly enjoying a cup of tea and a hearty soup with salad and a sandwich, I was just beside myself with every bite of the mushroom melt burger. The burger and fries were prepared and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend that you try this burger, especially if you love mushrooms. Treat yourself. I was also introduced to a delicious refreshing beer called Muskoka Pineapple Ninja. I've never seen it before and it appears that if I can't find anywhere else I'll have to go back. All in all, this was a perfect afternoon. Also, we have promised ourselves that we are going to do this again next week.“

“This place never disappoints. Roger has been the chef here for eons, even before he bought the place. This wonderful old diner has been around since the early 50's.

The fare is simple and honest. Don't expect haute cuisine. What you can expect is great service, good prices and honest working person's food.

I tried the grilled chicken club on rye and could not finish it. Very tasty. My partner had her usual Con Beef Hash with scrambled eggs and rye toast.

If this place wanted to reach next-level, an investment in fresher lettuce, better quality chicken and overall crispier vegetables/fruits would make a world of difference. “The food and drinks are solid. I’ve had a couple dinners here, and the food has been great and a good value each time. Pastries and coffee at breakfast are also really good. Where Trio shines is with the service. The bartenders and waiters in the evening are prompt and friendly, and at breakfast Adam is the best. Service is what makes the difference between a restaurant I go to once and a restaurant I visit over and over again, and Trio nails it.“

I ordered the shrimp and chips combo and calamari for dine-in, and a burger combo for takeout. Everything tasted delicious and the food came out fast and hot. Also the staff was really friendly and made sure we got all the condiments we needed. Super clean dining area and it felt so nice and open. The owner, Barry, is an incredibly friendly host. His chatter while tending to the bar is incredibly entertaining, he is a real character.
There is only one food item here, wings and fries. But they are very good.

“Monday night and they had an unexpected group of 20-25 descend. One server. She was a rock star! Rolled with the punches and was calmed those getting frustrated with a backed up kitchen. One regular said many Mondays he is the only customer. The wings were amazing. The great vibe coming off the server made them worth the wait.“
