“In a restaurant world dressed up with disingenuous marketing JOEY Yorkdale offers you a magnificent spot outside downtown Toronto that delivers what it promises on their home page, “Our guests, new or old, are not treated just as guests, but as if they are a good friend we are catching up with.” And this was the experience for me and my two close chums who selected this spot primarily because it was the midpoint between our diverse locations. From first arriving, the hostess took the time to offer a complimentary champagne glass and inquire if our visit that day was for a special occasion. It was a reunion and she graciously followed up with pleasant comments establishing a charming mood. When the waitress came to greet us, she also took the time to find out more about the nature of our reunion and only then flawlessly delved into the menu. I understand this is common practice at luxury restaurants; however, I would contend that, although there are dining establishments that treat patrons similarly, it is not simply about what you do but, rather, how well you do it. And this is the reason I am taking the time to write this review: JOEY does it very well. Having frequented several luxury restaurants in downtown Toronto I can anecdotally share with you that there have been far too many occasions when the host and/or server left a poor impression. Whether it is conceited complacency in their brand or even our own bigotry of unrealistic expectations, there seldom is a meeting point of both food, service, and overall impression. The treatment at JOEY was so genuine that it left an indelible impression. Each interaction with the server and hostess throughout complemented our dining experience. We were then surprised with dessert on the house presented on an expansive serving plate with the words “Happy Reunion!” written in caramel. Delicious, delicious caramel. Mmmm, but I digress… Over the years I have written to restaurants far more complaints than compliments and, in retrospect, this is unfair. It takes a team and a culture to create this magic and it can be quite challenging to get it right. When it comes together as well as it did on our visit, it is the sort of joy that can accompany you throughout your day. At JOEY they seem to have captured the right formula and I look forward to returning and catching up with “good friends” that understand that going out to eat today is about so much more.“

“Just had a fantastic dinner at The Pickle Barrel in North York tonight! The atmosphere was lively and inviting, and our server Thalia was incredibly friendly and attentive. A great spot for a casual yet satisfying dinner with friends or family. We'll definitely be back!“

“On Sunday, I went to Kelsey's and had nachos and an ultimate bacon burger, both of which were delicious. We had a discount coupon from another Kelsey, but their manager still gave us a discount and free dessert. I would highly recommend this to everyone.“

“Always order from this Swiss Chalet and food and service is always consistent. I do have to say that the food tastes good in general, but the taste is 5x better when you dine-in, especially since you eat it right when it’s hot.

We got the chicken and third rack ribs, quarter chicken dinner with coleslaw, side of seasoned fries, 10 bbq wings, chicken broccoli & cheddar soup, and a shirley temple. Everything was cooked perfectly and super juicy and delicious!! We used to always get the chicken, but their other dishes are equally as good! Their chicken tenders and chicken pot pie are also amazing. Prices for drinks and desserts are super affordable as well. They have bottomless drinks which makes it even more worth getting!

Plenty of seating that’s perfect for families big and small. Service is always great at this location as well. Highly recommend!

“Very friendly service. Celine took care of us in a very warm yet competent way making us feel welcome. The service was swift and professional and there was never an empty glass on our table.“

“One of the most beautiful restaurants in town. Hogan’s is at the intersection of King city Avenue and Keel Street.
We found it on Google and chose to have lunch there after a long walk in Thornton Bales conservation area.
Right away we were blown away by the beautiful decoration of the restaurant.
It has a very cosy dining area and if you have a big party, there is a table with probably 20 seats upstairs.
We ordered their special linguine pasta, beef, bourguignon, Greek salad and their special burger. We were all quite happy with the food. The linguini had chicken and shrimp and the bourguignon was amongst the best I had tried.
The service was also great. We would probably be a bit more comfortable if we were checked on less frequently but everything else about the service was just great.
We finished with some delicious new York cheesecake and specialty teas.
Will definitely go back and strongly recommend“

Rajib was our waiter, he was super knowledgeable and helpful with making recommendations in the menu and checking in to make sure all our orders were in place. Always close by and easy to reach out to in case we needed something.

He recommended us the Summerberry cheesecake for dessert, which was great! I recommend that one to everyone as well in case you're looking for something sweet but not too heavy.“

“We truly enjoyed a leisurely lunch today at Kelsey's Richmond Hill. We need to give a lot of the credit and thanks to our server, Sarah, who was always there when we needed her. She provided us with some excellent suggestions for food and drinks as well as impeccable service coming from a warm and friendly person. While my wife was thoroughly enjoying a cup of tea and a hearty soup with salad and a sandwich, I was just beside myself with every bite of the mushroom melt burger. The burger and fries were prepared and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend that you try this burger, especially if you love mushrooms. Treat yourself. I was also introduced to a delicious refreshing beer called Muskoka Pineapple Ninja. I've never seen it before and it appears that if I can't find anywhere else I'll have to go back. “This place never disappoints. Roger has been the chef here for eons, even before he bought the place. This wonderful old diner has been around since the early 50's.

The fare is simple and honest. Don't expect haute cuisine. What you can expect is great service, good prices and honest working person's food.

I tried the grilled chicken club on rye and could not finish it. Very tasty. My partner had her usual Con Beef Hash with scrambled eggs and rye toast.

“Gabby’s – Guildwood Village Shopping Centre Four of us visited Gabby’s in the Guildwood Village Shopping Centre yesterday for lunch. The restaurant opened last year, and this was our first time there. After seeing so many great reviews online, we decided to check it out. We were greeted right away and seated where we preferred. Our server, Sarah, was wonderful—friendly, attentive, and helpful in guiding us with our drink choices. Between the four of us, we ordered: Chicken wings with fries Onion rings Garlic bread Buffalo chicken wrap with fries Braised beef stone-fired pizza Everyone agreed the food was excellent. I had the pizza, and it was sensational—the beef was tender and perfectly portioned, pairing beautifully with the onions and mushrooms. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, whether you’re enjoying a meal on the patio, dining indoors, or sitting at the bar surrounded by plenty of TVs. Service was impeccable. The washrooms were very clean, though they are located in the basement. If you’ve had a few drinks, you might prefer the accessible washroom on the main floor, as the stairs are steep. We all agreed we will definitely be back—there are so many other tempting menu items we want to try. The amazing service we received from Sarah made the experience even more enjoyable. “There for the Wednesday special $75 for 1 starter, 2 main and 1 dessert. Food was okay; relatively comparable to Moxie but not Joey’s. Exceptional customer service, thank you Kiara for giving us a great night experience. The outdoor patio is quite cozy, right alongside the road. “It was a very nice visit that we had. The food was great. It was a bit hard to understand how the menu is set up. We mainly went in for the sushi burritos but I got confused trying to order because the menu only says the ingredients for the Poke bowls, and then mentions that sushi burritos were available. The staff was really hard to communicate with and hard to understand. Apparently the same ingredients that go in the poke bowl can go in the burritos but it took us like 10 minutes to understand that from them. They were very friendly but just hard to communicate with. The food was amazing, alot of options for the set menu plus you can make you poke bowl with so much options, they just need to work on the topings pricing because even though you get 2 toppings free for example, some of them are not free even if you picked only one, which didnt make sense to me.The ingredients were fresh and very tasty and is was so loaded neither me or my wife could finish our respective bowls. I think we had the medium bowl, so if you go there keep in mind that one medium bowl serve more than one person. Would go there again now that I have everything figured out 😊 The food was amazing.“
